  1. I have my ranger insured under my home policy extra $120 a year
  2. hey guys long time no post but here's my thoughts on this as a sledder and a fisherman; with this really being the second year for the kawarthas ice fishing it is sometimes hard to remember that we have been running these lakes on our sleds long before the huts came along and sometimes they get put in traditional trails area's on the lakes, reflectors are greatly appreciated, just to identify another obstacle , i don't drive overly fast at night even when i know the area now just never know who is moving a sled to a different spot ( i came real close to a black clam the other night and was doing maybe 45km/h). we as sledders have a responsibility to ride in a safe manner as well and not go out and try and buzz other user groups of the lakes also there is no roads lines or boundrys but ther is something called respect we all need to embrace it.
  3. Dan as usual it's up to how you read it, if the air bag deployed we know thw seat belt retractors also used up, hence they won't operate as intended. the customer might get po'ed at me but it's my license. when or if the car became involved in an accident we both know that same customer would be at our door with the lawsuit
  4. get the safety done mike, if the air bags went off it a little more than just replacing two air bags, most likely seat belt retractors maybe a sensor could be a bit of$$$$ i won't pass a safety on a car with the air bag light on. triton engine are decent but like there fuel, hope who ever had it first did some maintenance on it, you won't like removing the cylnder heads to do a tune up. I wouldn't worry about performance right now, save your cash for fishin stuff if you need to go fast get a mustang
  5. mike rod's that are 6'8 to 7'2 in MH are your best all round bass fishing rods, the only technique that's difficult with a longer rod is skipping under docks and such. In saying that mh rods can vary by manufacture, my favorite combo is a stradic 2500 with a 15 lb braid 10 lb seagar leaders I think it's a 6'8 mh crucial skips, wackys, jigs 3/16 oz no problems and light as well, but also have compre's with symetreys, carrot stix ect all work very well just have to get used to them
  6. at tires will be ok in snow most of the at tires on the market have a snowflake symbol on them. The snow tires will be much better in icy conditions as they are made with compounds that stay pliable at low temps, you can't go wrong with the blizzaks always been a dependable tire, overall if you have a dedicated set of summer tires than go for the snow tires
  7. great report, thanks for sharing. On a side note I finally got your screen name, customer just walked in, as i am typing up a file card i of course ask his name it's Gary, I ask with 2r's eureka
  8. hey each to there own, I'll never own a deep-v or a tin boat again, i enjoy fishing from my bass boat to me it's perfect platform for what i do, now if i feel like towing hardware my buddy has a lund
  9. most people think that till they own one, I relax more, fish more am more comfortable and when i am done fishing i can cruise the lake checking out all the girls
  10. mike i have been down this road with a 12 ft boat grab a 9.9 2 stroke, it'll be lighter and better balanced had a 4 stroker on my 12fter and could almost swamp the boat untill i moved the fuel tank and battery to the front
  11. put it simulator mode and see if it will do all of these things. then go from there
  12. as long as the money is coming out of my pocket I'll stick with my st. croix and shimano products, now if someone wants to sponers me. i even use a hanna montana rod and tell you it's great
  13. you gotta go out and feel them out, I use a shimano core mvg flippin reel and i wouldn't part with it, but i also have a couple quantum's work ok as well, just have to remember what i feel comfortable using others may not
  14. yup cops just lockdown midland and midwest appears there was a shotting at the car wash, gonna be a great afternoon. think i should start looking for work closer to home this is the second major incident around here
  15. most likey its the battery and unrelated to the repair, but check the cables for tightness first, as batterys usually fail the first couple hot days of the year (avaerage battery life these days appears to be about 3 years
  16. as I understand it, it's a warranty against defects and it is very unlikley a rod would fail after 7 or 8 years if wasn't dinged by a weight or something to that effect, i 've had many rods fail that were defective and they failed in the first or second outing. Still v-rods are great rods but i can see where shimano is coming from and i wouldn't be happy if i was stuck with one that just up and broke
  17. awesome day congrats and i am sure a couple of those bows will be great in the smoker
  18. I have a legend tournement telescoping it's had no problem hauling hawgs out of the slop and it sensitive and light to boot, i paired it with a core pitchen reel and it's awesome
  19. i uses a mr.clean magic eraser on a couple of my rods worked pretty good at cleaning them up
  20. thanks, i'am pretty sure you dealt with the same guy up in my area, and i'll never use him again
  21. looks like I need to put a piston in a 150 intruder and the guy I had lined up to do it stood me up for the second time. don't have time or the space to do it myself and have no idea who does this work around here.
  22. couldn't see the factory prop being that far off, are you sure everything else is ok, fuel pick ups, filter ect. is there any other issues like hole shot ect.
  23. I' ve dealt with dt for some parts for my ranger and my yammy sled great people. awesome boat the 6 series have been on my mind a while great all around boat. so need a fishing partner to help break it in?
  24. swordfish happy it worked out for you, and your happy with your boat. on a more intresting fact i found a omc manual a 73-91 that would cover your engine if you want it it's yours.
  25. Lew opinions vary, but I won't mix products, I'll use stabil for longer term storage, and seafoam in day to day running as it has water removing, and cleaning propertys as well as stabilizing, but changing it up certainly can't hurt. in my 4-stroke sled (yammy) i use the yamaha fuel stablizer and conditioner so far 4 years no problems and it's cheap at 5 bucks a bottle
