Shopping for a new SUV, info and opinions please.
ecmilley replied to krawler's topic in General Discussion
THere are many vehicles that would work for you, depends on what you like. Towing you really can't beat a v-8 comfort is a matter of opinion i am 6'1 and 230ish i find the x-terra and toys a little cramped, the mitsus have a good drivetrain but feel cheap, jeep wranglers good off roading 2 doors limited in storage and I don't like how they feel towing cherokee not bad overall (still a dodge though) again f-150 4 door not a bad truck, I feel they need work in the seats as well dodge trucks look ok, most likely typical mopar quality control if you get a good one it'll be the best truck ever, otherwise you'll be cursing it. I prefer gmc trucks, best seats in the biz awesome soundsystems big drink holders, best hwy fuel mileage in the biz and you should see the places my stock z-71 can go. seen add in the paper this week 4x4 ext cab nevada edition 26700 and 4 door 4x4 was 28ish, looking at the build sheet for my truck from 2003 it was 43780 can't believe how trucks came down in price. but with a family nissan armada, tahoe's/yukons chrysler aspen/durango are all good suv's to look into -
Lots of changes this year, rebuilt my evinrude first marine 2 stroke for me, got married and opened a business, somewhere in all of that even got out fishing just not as much as i liked but who gets out as much as they want, heres a couple pics from the year. sturgeon lake

-
If you paid by cc just phone a stop payment in, this will get there attention and i am sure they will return your call within 24hrs

gauntlets are great for keeping your hands warm, you cam almost turn the heaters off completly, most guys running these can run mechanic gloves or something thats equally thin, maybe you can find a wicking liner out of some combi or ckx branded gloves

my seirra did that as well, turned out it was the smallest of leaks in the waterpump, check lower rad hose and see if there is a stain there or on block under pump

after working on many of these cars, usually the clunks are traced to front sway bar links or seperated lower control arm bushings

After 16 years at Active Green+Ross opened my own garage in Lindsay, 12 minute commute from home instead of 2 hours. Been unofficially opened for the last month working on the place, getting things organized and ready, my new laser aligner should be in Friday and I am good to go. I can even sled to work now if i desire, I am located on Queen st operating as "THE SHOP"

while personnel choice is a big factor i have used many different set ups for drop shotting. i have used full flouro with a uni knot and leader way to twistie tried it with a swivel same problem, found mono didn't have the feel my overall best soloution was 15 lb power pro some small steelhead swivels, i have o couple of those foam lindy snell holders that i tie up various lb test and hooks to depending on where i am fishing on the lake usually owner downshot weedless style withe 12lb seagar for weededges and gammy drop shot hooks for nose hooking on 8 lb floro in more open areas and rocks piles ect

i got an hds unit and ended up getting the navionics platinum chip which is good on the great lakes and kawartha's but found it didn't do very many of the inland kawartha's and haliburton/bancroft district lakes so I also picked up a hot maps chip, best of both worlds

that's a proper reapir done from the inside and it takes 20-30 mins depending on tire size, while push plugs are still legal there use is discouraged as they are classed as a temporary repair
-
first person i would get a hold of is bernie, he's at a brp dealer and will know the policy's don't be suprised if you can't get the warranty though many times canadian dealers cannot get compensated for U.S warranty's ,. you may have to pay the dealer then submit a claim to brp of usa

i have the same set up bird on the front hds out back and havn't seen ant cross talk between the two, try switching to 83mhz and see if that clears it up or makes it worse. I also have the structure scan and this weekend the normal sonar was a mess showing hooks and clutter everywhere downscan was clear marking weeds perfectly ect i put it down to all the debris in the water from the blow we had and all the weeds dying off, let us know what you find out, don't forget there up to version 4.0 for the finders as well

Cliff done all but the mighty niagra on your list, so when you want to do some stream brookies let me know I'll show you all my spots in southern or central ontario. as for me, i would like to to pre-spawn bass on champlain, hopefully spring 2011. figure out where all the crappies go after walleye season opens up. like to spend more time fising central lake ontario bass and walleye cause i know there there. maybe actually use my snowmobile to go into some back woods speckle lakes in the hali-bancroft district this winter. my dream fishing trip is dragging my boat down to lake ochkeechobee or lake fork

lol wayne, for some reason fanny's is real close to the snowmobile trail though i am pretty sure i wouldn't own a legend unless it was free
