That article certainly answered many of my questions about how fishing tornaments are held. It would seem to be a much more responsible way to record weights and sizes and still keeps and improves the spectator appeal.
Wow ,,, what can i say that hasn't already been said ....
yes your trip logs are like opening a gift on christmas morning when i was a kid ... my forays into Algonquin pale in comparison ... keep em coming
my daughter is in university , studying communications and media .... I know how much writing and essay work she does
very good essay , she has my vote
I have been dreaming of doing this trip after reading your trip logs. I tried to arrange something this year , however couldn't get any commitment from my buddys Unfortunately I have no holidays left either. If there will be any groups going next year that need an extra fella please keep me in mind. Thanks Solo.
Yeah you gotta beware of stuff on Kijijii .... i responded to an ad last year for an ATV .... exact same thing you said ... just have to make sure you do your research
good luck
I have been doing interior trips to Algonquin for many years ... you will quickly become addicted my friend to this gem of a park .... I don't want to preach but make sure you don't brings cans ... its part of the rules and its one of the things that I see people tend to not follow.
Anyways on the important stuff eh !!! .... when fishing Crow lake for lakers concentrate on the point in front of the Ranger Cabin .... the crow river holds some beautiful spots to catch some specs ... when entering Lake Lavielle ... be sure to fish the mouth of the Crow river as it exits Lavielle .. and spend as much time as possible on Dickson would be my suggestion
good luck and safe paddling !!!
I also considered the lease type cottage property a few years back, because of the price. I was looking at cottages in Harcourt Park. After my own investigation, I decided to wait and keep looking for 100% my own property. 2 years ago I found one and got a sweet deal. At least I know its all mine.
Now i just need to win the lottery to build on it.
holy crap !!!! thats amazing ,,, in a canoe in zero temps ? way to go man .... I would have a swamped for sure if i had seen that thing
thanks for posting those pics
Sorry guys this may be a dumb question as I am not familiar with that area, but is Frenchmans Bay the sheltered bay on the north side of the large sandbar or is it actually part of Lake O. That bay doesn't look like it would get too rough judging by google maps. I have a 14ft boat and was looking for a new place to try out as well.
