  1. Was that a clipped pelvic(ventral) fin on the right side?
  2. 9:00 am is almost the afternoon shift, you will have room. If you have some tiny jigs, 1/16th to 1/32nd with tiny tubes, they work too, green, pink or white.
  3. Go to Princess Auto and get yourself a 20Amp/h rechareable. Much cheaper, without all the useless dingers and bells.
  4. Well, it just may be a better thing to not have ice than have people trying to go out there on questionably thick/thin ice and get themselves in trouble.
  5. Been to Park Farm lately?, or how about that dumpy little bar in Czar?
  6. That's probably what had the perch hiding this morning, one lousy pike in the marina and everything goes for a ..damm snotrockets.
  7. Might see you there, dirty old orange floater coat, pants...yes, colour don't know yet. And the hat that gives it away of course. Not before 0830or so.
  8. knotaclue: did you find a better spot after you left? I hung around for about another hour, only got one over 9" today. I think I'm finally getting the hang of the "bug jig", must have caught another 50 or so, when the wind picked up, I opted for the warmer spot...home. Nice meeting you.
  9. Ya, don't think I missed a whole lot, got up, the sun is peeking over the horizon, +7 out, going to mosey down to the Barrie docks and catch me a fishwich.
  10. To the entire board, I wish a healthy and safe New YEAR.
  11. The fishing was okay this morning, not fast and furious, had to play a bit of C&R to get a dozen keepers. Not quite as many people out this morning either.
  12. I'm not one for much of twang twang music, my beer dried up and my dog peed on my foot, but that was definitely nice. Now I'm going fo rthe afternoon old age snooze.
  13. It's looking better, scroll to the top right of the sat image, Lake N is frozen over except for a crack in the middle. http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/mod...on.143.250m.jpg
  14. It appears that Callander Bay at N Bay may make enough ice in the next 2 weeks, apparantely 2-3 inches already, it might work to walk out.
  15. I think some of the best lessons I passed on to my boys were the ones that were the hardest to accept from my own parents. If I wanted something, I had to work or save for it, something that a lot of young people don't do any more, or even know how to. We didn't have credit cards or the like while I grew up. Cash...if you didn't have it, then you didn't buy it until you had enough. Did it hurt? damm right, but I'll tell you, you appreciated the item a whole lot more, and you took good care of it. Nowadays, it's buy on credit or "Mom/Dad I need....No, you don't need, you just want. Both my boys wanted wheels, did they need them, no but they worked part time after school and weekends, bought their own cars at 16, had their own insurance policy, (I paid the difference between coming on my policy and their own for the first year), they both know what a buck is worth. At 24, my oldest bought a house already with his girlfriend, my youngest is well on his way too. So, urbanangler1990, you have to balance your needs and your wants, be sure that what you want, is really needed. I'm still driving a 1986 Lightning rod with a Shimano Speedmaster, do I need a new one, hell no, but ask me if I have any other debts at 50+.
  16. Hopefully that weekend should be hard...water. Going with Rob Hyatt, I'm curious if anyone else is bringing along a GMRS radio, just something to pass good info around if the bite starts.
  17. Forgot to put the plug in once, boat sank about 3 inches, put the plug in, bailed it out, that's as close as I got, I have a healthy respect for nature and water.
  18. Ha, I saw that hat, good to hear you got some reasonable sized perch. Good to give someone a hand landing the pike.
  19. Ya, check radio worlds prices and then check some others. Somehow, I've had some bad vibs from that place lately, either can't get it, they won't sell it to you, or "oh we don't deal with that company". Saturday was the last straw for me, ask for a simple transistor to repair a radio, they have them but won't sell it to me, Ah so I'm supposed to pay them for the repair I can do myself. Not likely. I've had much better service from Durham radio in Whitby.
  20. Somehow Lowrance is the one that has never let me down, maybe take a look at this. http://www.lowrance.com/Automotive/Products/iWAY600C.asp
  21. Greetings to all, hope the rolly polly man in red, black and white filled your stockings(pantyhose for those inclined that way), and everyone is happy. Hope you get a real line burner this morning Steve.
  22. Tomorrow, X*mas and Bx Day 06-1800. My boys are grown, other workers have kiddies, so they can enjoy. But, for god sake, don't be calling 911 to ask how long to cook the turkey. And if your cats stuck in the tree, quit buying the cheap cat food.
  23. I wonder if that was the same "bucket brigade" I saw there in the morning. Good to see the CO's around now and then.
  24. Just part of nature, it's a good thing nature doesn't have an exterminator button for I'm sure we'd be loooong gone.
  25. Yeow, Panels up..pin in, finger, Doh, too late, don't be stickin fingers where they don't belong..
