  1. Sorry but most of those "automatic" chargers, aren't quite that "smart". As for being down 1.5l of water, you might have rescued it it time. The automatic charger charged long and strong and basically evaporated the water out of the battery by over gassing. If you want a charger that can be left alone for 6 months at a time then get a Battery Minder or Battery Tender from VDC electronics.
  2. The ice is thick enough, but with the crusty snow cover, there are areas that is is very difficult to move, and, not so much getting on, but getting ack off the ice, some pressure cracks along the shore lines have gone up about 6 feet high. Gilford has a spot you can sneak through, but don't count on it remaining like that. When it warms up, the ice expands...goes up and heaves and can leave you stranded.
  3. A couple of baby carriage size wheels, an axle and 2x4 long enough to go under the boat, a length of bungy cord and you're off to the race. Remember that larger diameter wheels run easier on rough ground.
  4. Sure there's a way out, it's called the nitwit clause for signing up to something outrageous and he should get a smack upside the head with a frozen carp. You have an early cancellation penalty clause, if you don't read it before you sign, then maybe you shouldn't have signing authority. Companies don't try and recruit potential customers because they're nice companies, they want to make money at your expense.
  5. 1.980" axle dia. Might be worth the effort t ogo to a real bearing shop like Canadian Bearing or similar and ask for some real NorthAm or European bearing, Timken, SKS, some things are acceptable in life and will get you from A-B, but cheap bearings don't make me feel fuzzy.
  6. 7:20 am and the wind has really picked up in the last hour, could get gusts up to 90k/mh, now I suppose I'll end up with the neighbours snowbank in my driveway..
  7. And the worst part, there's no cure for any of those diseases and they are contagious.
  8. You're right about that, for the price you can't go wrong, had one for about a year now, makes a great 3rd and 4th hand. Even the cheap 9.99 folding sawhorses are worth it.
  9. You'll have no problem renting that out if you're close to the college.
  10. That's a decent catch of slabs, sweet meat.
  11. Ha, ha, ha, how about the drag couldn't keep up with the smelt and started smokin... Hopefully no one hurt.
  12. 70Km wind, never mind your tarpus flatus, I think there may be the odd huttus rollus. Nice catch BTW.
  13. Maudit...dat vood bee center hice...ess tee.
  14. If you're referring to the old nitwit from the Canadian Tire commercial claining to power everything in his boat by solar, he was full of bullchunks. Even the large panel (15 watt) will only give you 1 amp under the most ideal conditions, full sunlight, panel angled at 90 degress to the sun and adjusted to follow the sun for the whole day..so from about 930 to 1730 daily is about 8 hoursx 1 amp = 8 amps back into the battery. You figure out how any good days it will take to recharge. If you use it to maintain a fully charged battery, they will do fine.
  15. Like Gary, SimcoeBob and Lew said, it's not worth the coin. It's a good thing that the larger tackle stores don't charge an entrance fee to browse. For me it would be roughly $30 fuel, $10 to park, $12 to get in, a couple cups of coffee and maybe a dusty donut, so we'll say $60 and likely feel like it's shopping on the 24th of December.
  16. Lets see them duke it out with the African killer bees.
  17. Late ice, lousy weather and interference from work.
  18. Like Mike said, I'd make him dig through what he was throwning out and make him cook chowder out of it, waste not, want not. Anyone can fillet with a chainsaw.
  19. Shipshaw (les Barrages a Arvida) does have some nice fish, everything from perch on up, but do check on the specific requirements for each specie of fish, some you need a daily tag etc, some areas you may need a guide cause you'll be considered a non resident( best I can remember). See if you can get hold of "dabluz" local member from there. They may still have the two ponds open on the Base( Parc Lambert) Lambert Park for the blokes or tetes carres(flash cube)
  20. I think that Nipppy board exploded when the problems at lake simcoe fishing arose.
  21. Well I don't know what I'm doing wrong, clicked on the TV screen for walleye and this is what I get: "Unfortunately we are unable to find the article you are requesting. Please check the URL you have typed in, or try searching to help you find what you are looking for."
  22. Great report, nice pictures, can't wait til next year.
  23. Unfortunately none of those links are available any more.
  24. Hey, don't you be givin out my name.. . 45-50 seconds per fish, 2 fillets, no bones, no skin.
  25. Sorry, but I would never consciously buy anything, (well maybe TP), with a Humminbuzzard label on it. Have seen too many guys curse at and swear at their products. That not being the worst, it's when you have to duck to avoid the junk coming back down on re entry after being space launced by mad fisher persons.
