If you're about to do any amount of trailering, put some fenders on it and a set of front amber marker lights to keep it legal.

Ethanol Gas and Two-Stroke Engines??
Fisherman replied to JustinHoffman's topic in General Discussion
I think part of the issue with ethanol absorbing more water than straight gas is that the gas/oil mix goes through the crankcase and is partially used to provide lubrication for the crank/bearings etc. Bearing don't like water and when engines run a bit hot, water turns into steam and maybe removes that thin film of oil lubricant on the bearings, rings, etc. Just a guess, but there's not too many engines that like having water pushed through the lower end. Some aircraft engines and others used water injection, but that was for cooling and went throught the upper end of the motor. -
I don't know if that would be such as wise idea. For instance, we all know about sharing the benefits of taxes, the have not's are always screaming for more. My idea, if you have not, then you get not, work harder! I want my money to stay in this province, not next door.

I'm pretty sure BPS was selling a bunch of Jon boats with the floor LineXed, can't see why not.

Nice information and, can one then say that even with "expert" releases, that almost 1 in 10 fish caught will die under ideal conditions, 1 in 3 will die period. I then question what is more reasonable, I go and catch 2 fish(rainbow for example), stop fishing, go home and eat my fish, I have taken 2 fish from the "pool of fish". Meanwhile, Joe Blow, an expert fisherman(maybe in his own mind), goes fishing and catches and releases 10 fish, 1 of which will die for sure, up to 3 if they are not released under the ideal conditions. That said, Joe has not taken any fish for consumption, but just gone out and killed from 1-3 fish that may be the future breaders or broodstock to keep the fishery going. Now if Joe has a "few" more buddies that play C&R and also keep their legal catch of 1 or 2, depending on licence status, is it just me, or can others also see how quickly the numbers accelerate? Thats' where I question the correctness of those that go and "play" with nature.

I will PM you a little later and keep it civil.

I wonder if my suspicions have been confirmed.

For one, Good for a Year doesn't make Marathons in that size, and, guess where the Goodyear trailer tires are now made.....yup, same place as Nankook, Carlisle, Titan, Dico, Trailer King, and all the others...so quality is about the same, like running a pair of black eggs under the trailer.

Okay, I'll try, my old partner, rest his soul, had a 70 Evinrude with a trolling plate, ran a peice of nylon starter cord from the release to the cleat at the rear ouside of the boat, long enough to allow turning hard left/right, but short enough so it would never get close to being snatched by the prop, going fwd or rev.

For a cheap fix as long as the tire isn't at fault, you can get a 5.30x12 tube for around $10.

I'll agree like someone else up top wrote, those that would take the test voluntarily are most likely not those who need to take the test to identify species of fish or the open seasons. Those people go to the effort and read the rules and ask questions to make sure they do know them inside out and not run afoul of the law. Why not teach it in school, a couple periods might suffice. After all, they have given in to teaching everything else that makes the mind boggle.

Outdoor Extension Cord To Plug In Onboard Charger
Fisherman replied to Blue_Axela's topic in General Discussion
Okay, I'll agree with going with the outdoor weatherproof box, somewhere close to your dock, however, a 12 ga. extension cord from there to the boat is mega overkill. When going from 120V to 12V, you only need 1/10 the amps at 120V AC to provide that current at 12V DC. In other words, a 12V 10 amp charger only takes 1 amp at 120V AC. Even a two bank charger might approach 3 amps at 120V AC. -
I really don't think a question like that should be posted when in the Regs it indicates to return the fish immediately. Unfortunate for hooking an OOS fish, but there's no point in trying to look for support in keeping it.

Nice pile of boats ut there today, by 7:30am there were over 50, after that, lost count. Tried to take pictures of the fish, camera was too small, I would have had to take 2 pictures and glue them together to show the true size. It was a very good day to say the least.

Exactly, well put, and unfortunately as the previous thread was nuked, I went through a similar problem, with no satisfaction. Like I said in that previous thread, I may buy the odd hook and sinker at BPS, but the big stuff will now be bought elsewhere. I really don't see why the unsatisfied customer should have to resort to posting on a public forum to get help.

Sorry, must be a glitch.

Proper sized plug wrench and handle, needle nose pliers, medium sized vise grips, good quality multi tip screwdriver. Extra set of properly gapped plugs. Spare light bulb(s) for running lights.

This one has no animals in it, but I imagine the participants can't be too bright. http://www.videosift.com/video/The-Insane-Human-Slingshot

The sort of funny part is that out in the prairies, people catch them in the spring, smoke and can them, and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference from any other "quality" fish.
-
Well I for one beg to differ, I would believe the average 10lb Carp would turn your 13' noodle rod into something like broken uncooked spagetti. We had a 10lb carp pull a 12' cartopper up the river with not too much effort.

I have no problem with lowering the Perch limits on Simcoe to say 30/15 for Sport/Con licence. Most of the other limits are okay, if slot size limit's are needed, I'm fine with that too. I would say my biggest bone is playing C&R with fish once you have reached your "allowable" limit. You have your fish, go catch something else. Going out every day to poke holes in fish to see how many you can catch, to me, it's sort of boasting, ego boosting or whatever you want to call it.
