  1. I think some guys here are thinking you have a hole(s) in your boots or are you trying to water proof them? Nik wax is another excellent product, I do my work boots twice a year, keeps the leather supple and waterproof. I get mine at Sojourn in Barrie, MEC might also carry it.
  2. Princess Auto in Barrie, they come in left and right packages that bolt onto the square plate behind the idler hub if your axle is so equipped, most larger (3500 lb) axles are.
  3. Put stabilizer in gas from July, it's already past its prime.
  4. I was under the belief that you fog a 2 stroke motor while it's running, ie, you spray the fogging oil mist into the air intake with the motor running at a bit more than idle. The engine will smoke like the QE2 and then die out. Do not attempt to restart the motor at this point, the complete internals are fogged, it's a 2 stroke.
  5. $499 + tax for the Galaxy 10.1 with wifi.
  6. First of all it helps to know what area you're in, I'm sure someone could recommend a dealer in Halifax..
  7. That may be okay for bare ice, but, wait til you get a foot of snow or 6+ inches of slush, you'll be cursing a blue streak or two.
  8. Hey that's not funny, part 11 to this, I'm pretty good at following instructions, hook up the router, it blinks and beeps, does what its supposed to. Do you think that damm tablet would hook up to the wifi thingy, nooooo, a day later and a mobile tech shows up. He confirms I did everything right, finds out that the Tablet will only hook up if the highest security setting is enabled on the router. Time for another pill.
  9. My wife finally got with the computerized world and bought a tablet, a Samsung Galaxy. After much cursing, foot stomping, swearing to go see a divorce lawyer, I got it to hook up to the wifi. Now I need a tablet, make it Advil. Why couldn't she take up fishing instead, fishing rods are so much easier to manage.
  10. I had 2 vents, about 4" x 8", one at each tip of the gable end of the roof, even with both open there was always some frost. Went I went outside to water the lake, it looked like a steam jet comeing out of the roof. Guys with the wood burners never had that problem.
  11. About the propane heaters, they are nice when it comes to convenience, but, they give off a lot of moisture. I had one in a permanent hut, worked well except for the frost coated walls and roof. The floor vents were covered, so it's not coming up from the floor. A small wood burner is much nicer for dry heat, sure there's the ashes to deal with once in a while. But at least you're not getting dripped on.
  12. Lota lota, oh boy, I've run out of hair for this week already, it might have been on this site about 2-3 years ago, or possibly Spoonpullers.com Pigeontroller, I won't disagree depending on the body of water, however you don't get that kind of coverage shown on his F/F, similar to what I've seen on mine in deep water for extended distances. Not sure, but I think the guy that wrote the article was Vanselena, he was into designing/building transducers. Haven't heard from him in quite a while.
  13. If you can't find aluminum as a heat shield for the back area of the stove, go and get the largest diameter round duct you can find at your local hardware store. An 8 inch diameter pipe opens to 24 inches wide and usually comes about 4 feet long. 2 of those are pretty cheap, galvanized and won't rust.
  14. Yes, one inch pink panther styrofoam works like a charm and is almost weightless.
  15. I'm pretty sure your Dads theory is correct. I've experienced the same in G Bay in anywhere from 50+ feet deep to well over 100. As soon as the day breaks, it's gone. Quite a while back someone wrote an article on that phenomenon, said it was zoo plankton.
  16. Jeez, I don't think he's going to park his helicopter on the roof, 2x4 floor frame, 2x3 wall and roof frame is far more than sufficient.
  17. Looks like one of a million commom blackbirds, introduce the neighbourhood cat to it. If it's sick, wash your hands before you pick your....you never know what you can catch.
  18. Are you supposed to wear pants with the chaps? The last couple guys up the mountain weren't.
  19. Sweet, a couple of reclining high back bucket seats on swivels, popcorn shaker for the stove and you've got a fine hut.
  20. How much wire is left on the transducer end? Someone with a bit of soldering skills can get that back together again. I shortened my transducer cable quite a few years ago, still works and no ill effects from shortening the cable.
  21. If you ran a good synthetic like Amsoil with a premium filter, you wouldn't get any sludge. I pulled the oilpan off my old 78 Rabbit at 12 years and 240 thousand, no sludge. No sludge under the valve cover either. And by premium filter, I don't mean the ones that start with the letter F and sound like a dodge truck.
  22. You keep dredging the St Clair shipping channel and guess what, don't have to be a rocket scientist or a Pope to figure it out.
  23. I had an '84 BF75 and it did not have an oil filter, the only thing it has is a screen strainer on the bottom of the oil pump pickup tube and that's on the inside of the motor.
