  1. Funny, haven't seen too many aluminum tractors or ploughs lately. Different metal, different properties.
  2. The fish has to be out of season. As for "immediately", it's open to interpretation that's a whole other can of worms. I would take it to mean don't even take the fish out of the water. If you were hanging onto a live 220V line, would you like me to turn off the power immediately, or would you like to roast your jewels a few seconds more while we take a picture. It's no different than the "do not allow consumable fish to go to waste" if it out of season and dies, you still have to throw it back.
  3. If you're buying a new engine from the US, you really might want to check the warranty rules just to be sure. There have been warranty denials for other power equipment, satisfy your needs.
  4. If you wish I'll send you a bunch of pictures to show you what I have, that will probably alleviate any misconceptions.
  5. Well on my Model 30 Jiffy, there is no return line via the primer and yes the auger has been making noise(motor running) and drilling a hockey sack of holes for the last 20 years. The primer is located on the left side of the engine cowl below the on/off switch. There is one(1) black tube from the rear of the primer that runs to the bottom of the diaphram cover. No gas ever enters this tube. When you press and release this primer, it pushes up on the needle valve to allow a squirt of gas into the carb. I'm quite sure Feldman Engineering didn't build just one special Jiffy model 30 for me alone.
  6. Ah, don't know what model you have, all the Jiffy ones I've ever seen have an "open" primer that activates the diaphram, causes fuel to enter the carb and into the bottom of the crank case where it enters the combustion phase. No fuel/oil is ever returned to the gas tank. Matter of fact, I've never ever seen a retuern fuel line from any of those carbs back to the tank.
  7. All depends what you plan on using it for. I have the basic electric front door model, 2 grills with the pan underneath for wood chips. That smoker has probably done a 1000 pounds of fish over the years, mostly salmon. On an average load, I have only needed to put in 3 pans of chips, sometimes only 2 if it was a smaller amount of meat. One thing I changed out over the years were the grills, got replacement porcelain coated ones for a BBQ. Easier to clean and almost sticky free.
  8. How about
  9. Remember "just because 15 years" doesn't always make something right or something else wrong. I've heard that too, higher octane burns cooler and helps eliminate pre detonation. As part of that event, carbon can be deposited in the combustion chamber and actually cause the volume of the cc to decrease, increasing the compression. Exactly what Tybo said.
  10. Why would you put gas in it and then have to do storage maintenance...
  11. Hopefully the weather forecast changes for the better, could be a tad windy.
  12. All depends on the particular insurance company and the level of coverage. Some do, some don't. All it does is make the price for everyone else go up, you sink it, you pay for it out of your own pocket.
  13. Sometimes I believe that it's unfortunate that procreation comes naturally, otherwise those that do the stoopid things would need instructions to complete the act. Hopefully his stoopid genes didn't make the trip with his offspring.
  14. A good quality ball bearing swivel "may" alleviate some of the mess closer to the end of the line before the lure. However, honestly, I'm tending to believe that you are one of "those" guys who keeps playing with the drag. What follows is what I meant very early in the thread about the spool turning while reeling or cranking. When the drag or tension is properly set per rod/line, the spool itself will not turn while you are cranking in line. If it does, then either you have played with the drag again or the fish is actually taking line. Don't crank while the spool is turning. It causes line twist. I see guys doing it quite often, once the drag is set, there's no need to adjust it.
  15. He said spincast, maybe a mistake. If it is a spincast, then he's reeling while the spool is turning on the reel and that causes line twist.
  16. You're definitely making the best of a mild winter..
  17. If the 18th was the opener, then why would you twiddle your thumbs on the friday....but, it isn't, the opener is always the 3rd Saturday.
  18. Holy grapola, that's worse than being held up, that's outright thievery, $59 + tax. I'm bettin McGuinty runs that store. You can get them for less than $30.
  19. Most any place that sells automotive batteries either has them in stock and can get them overnight.
  20. Oh boy... Can't wait.
  21. They say history often repeats itself, where was the last time you heard "If you're not with us, you're against us", this time it's a little different but with the same inference. Black uniformed fuzz don't give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
  22. That's because some use the brown truck and others will use US Postal. Last item I had shipped was pegged at $81 + tax with Mr Brown, Us Postal sent it for $9.00, yes, nine dollars.
  23. I wonder if there will be a reciprocal move by the US.
  24. Okay you finally got the jist of the conversation. The issue is "ON a ROAD".
  25. Dan, I'm not sure those up north don't quite understand the "turn a blind eye rule" doesn't work as well here. There are different rules for the northern areas and what they can get away with. Convincing someone down here that they can do the same may cost a bunch in tickets that aren't necessary. Cheers.
