  1. Forget where you have to go, but I do know it makes it much easier if you get a bill of sale for the cost of the hull, trailer, and motor (it can be on 1 paper, just separate prices for each). As for the number its just a piece of paper stating your boat id number. Whatever number is on that paper has to be on your hull.
  2. The post states he fishes every morning and evening. Im not hating on him for being succesful, its just the greed of some people is unreal. Especially people who keep more fish than they will actually eat. Ill bring a few fish for my grandfather from time to time because he likes to eat them, but I wont feed the town just because I can catch them.
  3. Maybe the fish were just biting light, and you were setting the hook too soon. Did you check if your hooks are sharp? If your drag is peeling out when you set the hook then it is too loose in my opinion, unless you set the hook like a mad man. I like to keep my drag fairly tight, and I use primarily 10lb power pro. With the ugly stick I think Cudz is referring to the sensitivity of the rod.
  4. Fishing is fishing as long as the season is open. Wet a line where ever you please
  5. Unless this guy and his family eat fish everyday, he is definetely over the POSESSION limit in his freezer (if he is keeping this many fish everyday). People always forget that the limit is posession and not daily. Maybe you need to remind/educate him of this!
  6. I use one deep deep cycle for everything. Motor, fishfinder, trolling motor, bilge, lights. I head out sometimes and use the trolling motor for 3-4 hours straight and never have a problem. This is not the proper way to do it, but I don't want the excess weight on the boat from having 2 batteries.
  7. For a 220+$ battery they sure as hell better last longer
  8. Congrats on the pb, what a pig . Love the first shot in the post, the background is purple.
  9. Talk to the locals and see what they use, and ask what depth range has produced for them. Should be some people on here too that have fished that lake that can give you some advice. Or take the easy way out and follow people around and if they say something tell them they are in YOUR spot..... j/k.
  10. If you decide to go with the Blue tops, there was a post a while back that said Costco is the place to go. If I remember correctly they sold them for $200ish, which is the best price you will find. Can anyone confirm?
  11. I was just beginning to think I was somewhat good. Way to cut me down ....
  12. Your chances of catching bigger fish will be greater if you use bigger lures. Big ones are caught accidently on muskie lures. Don't expect to do as well though, it will take alot of patience. That is not to say you can't catch big ones on a jig and worm. My pb (27") came on a jig and worm at noon. If your fishing to eat them, why would you want to catch the bigger ones anyways though? I have personally caught a few 4-5lb pickerel on the kawarthas on jig and worm, and have seen a 10lber caught on an erie derie and worm. It comes down to being at the right place at the right time for any big fish in my opinion. Persistance is the name of the game!
  13. The small size wally divers don't have rattles, but the bigger ones do I believe
  14. I have had the most success in the evenings.
  15. I think that is more than enough. The chain makes a big difference, so they say!
  16. Good point. I think it would all come back to whether or not the fish in the area have memory.
  17. Try to read up on their feeding patterns during the specified time of year. It will also depend on what food sources are available on a particular lake. Hope this helps.
  18. Would of loved to see a belly shot. Isn't 60" a length record in ontario if anything? Haven't herd of anything longer than 58.
  19. I have used Glen Echo in the past to camp, but they do have cabins as well. They are also located along lighthouse rd. I have been here a few times, and from what they say, the muskie you really have to motor out quite far to get into them. There are members from this board in that area, I'm sure they could give you more insight on that.
