  1. After breaking a compre and avid, before purchasing my next rod (I only buy lifetime warranty from now on) I always ask, "if I break this can you replace it here"? If they say no, I carry on and look for another store that does, even if it costs more. I payed $40 to ship my avid to Wisconsin, or wherever their headquarters is.
  2. Seems like it is the pedal. One of the resistances is reading infinity, which means there is an open circuit somewhere. Me and my brother disected this trolling motor in every possible way last night. We hooked up a 12V power source directly to the red/black wires at the top of the motor shaft and the motor spun instantly, which rules out the bottom end being an issue. We also checked the circuit board directly behind the steering system and all wires received a voltage. Wallyboss: I also noticed wear on the tab, and I did put some electric tape on it to help it make contact better, but still no dice. DRIFTER016: That will be the next course of action, if it still don't work I can just return it. Im just confused because when the pedal is pressed you do hear a relay click in the circuit board behind the steering system (which tells me it is getting the signal ). Is this normal even if the pedal does not work properly? DRIFTER016: did yours do this when the pedal was faulty?
  3. Do only marina's sell these? Just out of curiousity what does the vaseline do? Thanks for tips!
  4. Trying to fix this one myself before I take the expensive dive for a Terrova.
  5. So I pulled off the prop, and the prop shaft was not visibly bent. There was no water inside the motor either. I checked the voltages on the pedal and they were ok too, aside from one of them being more than what the Minn Kota diagram specified. One thing I did notice is that the 12V source connectors were not really connected properly as the connectors just pulled apart with not much force at all. After cutting the wires to reconnect it back together I noticed the copper wires on the positive were black. I cut off another 2 inches and they were still black. The negative copper wires were not. Is this the result of overheating? If not, what causes this? Any suggestions? Do you guys recommend connecting the wires back together by soldering or is shrink wrapping or connectors ok?
  6. I found that the weight of the worm doesn't really make them float, as soon as i drop the floating jig into the water with the worm, it begins to sink.
  7. Some reels have poorly engineered bails that have sharp corners that fray the line as well. Anyone with a quantum energy pt-i take a look at the corner of the bail. 170$ reel and it frays line . From now on when selecting a reel I pay close attention to this small detail.
  8. Thanks for taking the time to post the link, but my problem is not really listed under that pdf file.
  9. All fireline frays easy, other then that its good. For this reason I switched to strictly power pro. Power pro just loses its die a bit.
  10. Nice mounts, love the bear too. That must of cost of a fortune.
  11. There are a few conservation areas within, give them a try. Pike and bass lurking in most.
  12. I snore myself, and people also refuse to sleep in the same tent/room as me. I use breath right strips, and it works really well, but they are very pricey. I'm sure it will only get worse as I age though as I'm only 24 now. Quiting/slowing down on smoking helped though big time. Might have to consider this surgery myself. Is there any disadvantages of having this done? How long is expected recovery time? On a side note: I have a buddy who's dad snores so loud that he can hear him snoring when he walks up to the door (and the door is closed). Very advantageous when he used to come home drunk in his high school days..... He would listen for the snore and if he heard it, he knew it was safe to proceed.
  13. Looks like a good time Joey! Hope it will be just as good for me on the weekend! Nice pickerel and pike
  14. Good work bud, you deserve it! That is definetely replica mount worthy!
  15. This unit has to be 10+ years old. The problem I'm having is that it will continously work, and then the motor stops. The steering on it works still when the motor dies. After I turn the steering back and forth, adjust the speed up and down, and press the continous thrust buttom on and off, it comes back to life and starts working again. And then it dies again at any given time. I can hear that it makes a noise within the motor when it does not want to produce thrust. The noise is not continuous it just makes a little tick noise for a split second as soon as I press the pedal for it to thrust. It seems like its a bad connection to me. Another thing I noticed is that when I activate continous thrust it does not always want to work. Any suggestions, or anybody have similar problems?
  16. For any who is interested in a bowrider/atv/camper. Here is the sale list. Anybody been to this particular one? http://aeromarineauctions.com/sales_items.htm
  17. My apologies the park employees do.
  18. They should make it catch and release for a few years, or even close it for a bit like Gogu mentioned above. If MNR was present there more frequently they would be suprised how much money and tackle they could take. The only thing they enforce there is to make sure you pay the $10, SHOCKER!
  19. I would go jig and worm jigged or dragged off bottom
  20. Parked the boat infront of the dunnville dam last saturday and saw none jumping the dam. Water is warm as hell too.
  21. In the past guys have mentioned that park rangers come by and ticket people fishing near the train tracks.
  22. Its a good thing you have good neighbours Rick. We started to build our shed and the neighbour complained that it was too close to her fence, so we had to demolish it, good thing we only poured in the concrete on the posts.
