    I am also waiting......... Art
  2. Here is a link to the product prep and primer that I used on my 28ft aluminum boat that sits in a marina 24/7.interlux primer You can also find paint info for any color you want to paint the boat at the same website just go to their home page. The top paint that I used was interlux33 but you don't need such a special paint because your boat does not need antifouling applied since it does not live in water. This primer and paint combo will give you a lifetime of bonding and it will help seal any minor rivet leaks as well. I used a pressure washer on my boat and then garnet sandblaster to finish off the tough spots. If you sand do not burn the rivets with the sander best to use the product Wayne suggested I am sure that he has stripped alot of aluminum during his aircraft restorations. Do you all have a product called Aircraft stripper in the aerosol can??? I use it alot when I am stripping old paint and powdercoating from metal. A little pricey for doing a whole boat but it would be great for spot shooting the areas that did not strip the first time with only a 10 min waiting time. Art
  3. John if you make it to Virginia I take you out on a boat with twin 318's for some really big Blue cats. The PB on it so far is 54 lbs with a total PB day of 1200 lbs. Art
  4. I found that if you want to catch more cats you should switch to circle hooks. The important thing to remember is not to set the hook but to sweep the rod with a slow steady pull. I have found that when using bait and a circle hook that the cats will mostly pick up the bait and move away with the bait in their mouth. As they leave they are crushing the bait to kill it and as the line tightens it pulls the hook up into the corner of the mouth. You will find it is an easy release and more hook-ups just remember if you set a circle hook you will pop it out of their mouths. If you are going for channel cats use a fresh bait either chicken livers or cut bait. The smaller fish will go for the stink baits but as they get bigger they are used to eating fish they are meat eaters and a 10 lb fish will eat a bait that is 4 inches with ease. I use shad here for the big Blue cats and use baits up to 10 inches for the 40-50 lb fish.... Art

  7. good for you I have been a dodge fan for years. I have had all of the big brand name trucks and if it wasn't for my love for Nissan I would still be driving a Dodge pick up truck. I would check to see if the truck has synthetic lubricant in it.... if not I would change it after a few thousand miles I am sure the motorheads will sing the praises of the liquid gold. P.S. if the tires are spinning then the engines drinkin..... Art
  8. Sorry to hear this bernie..... Time will heal your heart and then go to the shelter and give a new life to a dog that needs you. Art

  10. I have played around with a few of the 70 and 80's cars and in their day they were fast but give me a 2000+ and then we can talk about lots of HP with minimum weight. I would say though if I am looking to be noticed I love the body lines of the older cars though. Art
  11. Soooo is it a coincident that as Rick gained weight that our bandwidth got bigger also.... I smell conspiracy... owell Thanks again for all of the hard work and the money spent on keeping this board going. 15. Some of the tubspouts have a lift knob on the end that when you divert it it will cause a loud squeel noise. If thats the case then replacing the spout should be the answer. You may also find that the showerhead is the noise maker if it is a massage type but that is rare.... You can switch the head with another one in the house to test it. Art
  16. How ever did this myth of Air in the line get started???? The water pressure in a house is above atmospheric pressure so if you were to get a hole in the line water would spray out before air would rush in. The 2 exceptions to the rule are a venturi that is used on a well tank (very old school and rarely done now a days) or the water heater is scaled up and is boiling the water and creating hydrogen or oxygen gas to be released. Both of the issues will give you sputtering at the faucet not a loud noise. The loose washer in either a faucet or the angle stop valves can cause the noise but will only vibrate when you use the faucet that makes the noise. If the noise appears all by it's self then look at the toilet ballcocks if the flapper is bad then it will cause it to cycle even without anyone using it because the water level has stopped. The easiest way to find out which one it is is to turn one of them off and see if the noise does not appear. Work your way around the house doing one toilet a day and then replace the ballcock and flapper with a FluidMaster 400a ballcock and a good quality flapper (korky). If that does not resolve it then it is time to test the solenoid valves on the washer machine, humidifyer, or the dishwasher all of these will work the same way the faucet rule applies. The last check their is is the Pressure regulating valve that may or may not be located in the main water line were the cutoff valve is to the house. This check and job should be done by a plumber unless you can solder and are familiar with the testing because if you do it wrong you can flood the house or make it so you can't turn the water back on until it is fixed. Hope this helps Art
  17. If you have an aluminum boat that sits in the water that has electric run to the dock/marina you should install EXTRA magnesium/zinc anode to a grounded part of the boat. The pitting and corroding you see on the motor is actually happening all over the boat. Art
  18. Normally I would let this pass but you are spewing crap about a truck you haven't even looked at. How is it you can say the frame on the Nissan flexes it is a full box frame that is designed to be used on a future 1 ton vehicle but also their future diesel platform. It is a 1/2 ton truck rated to tow 9500 lbs and is very well engineered. The tailgate is easily removed by lifting it off two 1 inch bolt assy. if that's what your referring to it is not a flex issue so much as a convient and easily removed tailgate. The sheet metal on the truck comes from the same plant that the infinity are made at a car noted for superior fit and form on it's sheetmetal. Nissians are not for everyone and I wouldn't dream of suggesting that they are for everyone but to bash something you don't like with lies ain't right. I base this all on fact and I have owned and drive ALL of the big name trucks and for me at this time it is Nissan over domestic trucks. Art
