  1. Without the foam a boat sinking out from under you is even scarier, and it is illegal to remove it it changes the rating of the boat and structurally it is weaker. Art
  2. Great story thanks for taking the time to post it John. Art
  3. WE are at 72 F here and the topwater bite is working well. We are using the soft frogs and finding good hookups. Some of the popper lures with the single hook were still hit or miss. This is for Bass down here that are in season though. Art
  4. It is amazing how the prize table fills up from all of the generous donations from those that show up. We also like to thank our sponsors that have been very generous also even when they can not make it to the get together. It seems every year everyone gets a little something for their enjoyment no matter what place they come in. So if you have something for the table new or used feel free to bring it with you it will find a new home and you can be sure a smile from it's new owner. Don't forget to bring your appetite T.J. and the crew cook up a mean mess of fish. Art
  5. Your welcome it was a pleasure to serve and to all of those that gave their life for the freedoms we all enjoy we salute you. Art
  6. I have had both and if you are not going to be hauling it far and you have the room to leave it inflated the pontoon gives you the ability to sit above the water and even use an electric motor on the larger ones. Art
  7. Yes the marine has the same protection. I store over 145 gal of fuel between the 3 boats and it is the best for the job. My large boat has twin 318 and an aluminum fuel tank. So far in 4 years no water has been found in the water separators and the fuel from last fall was not varnished or discolored. I am betting over 40,000.oo worth of motors on it with my mechanics blessing. Art
  8. If you have any corian you can get the color chips and make them. Home depot I think will sell or give them to you. It is easy to work and silicone is the preferred glue. Art
  9. Q: How long will STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer keep fuel fresh? A: STA-BIL® Fuel Stabilizer will keep fuel fresh for up to 12 months, guaranteed. Depending on the quality, type and source of the gasoline, as well as storage conditions, doubling the dosage rate of STA-BIL could prolong this storage time to up to 2 years. However, any gasoline stored for more than 12 months will tend to lose volatility (ignitability), which could lead to hard starting or no start conditions after this long storage period. NO additive, STA-BIL included, will prevent volatility loss in fuel. To reduce fuel volatility loss during storage, we recommend filling your tank at least 95% fulll with fresh fuel and STA-BIL, and store in cool conditions away from direct sunlight if possible. If you forget to stabilize your fuel prior to storage and do experience problems starting your equipment after storage, we recommend trying our StartYourEngines! Fuel System Revitalizer product. 10. It is called a foam pack used to insulate pipes underground. Check with a plumbing supply company but they are still pricey. Art
  11. Bernie is that one of the cedar strips from your boat shop? The whole project looks excellent but I would expect nothing less from you. Art
  12. well said X2 Art
  13. A sad day for sure Pete. Thinks do get better and when your heart has healed give a chance for a new friend in your life he will appreciate it as much as you will. Art
  14. Nice looken truck except for that defect in the picture of the grill.... Art
  15. it is not the moving forward it is the RPM's are back to idle that count. Shifting at RPM's above 1000 will damage any drive train. You are expected to shift from forward to neutral then reverse. I am not saying that they don't owe you a repair but if their is physical evidence that you shifted it incorrectly just ask them to show you what part is broken and then get a second opinion. Art
  16. Way cool good job guys and thanks for your dedication to preserving the species. Art
  17. Just pay the $65.00 I am sure you have gotten that much enjoyment from the resources and you can sleep at night knowing you have not compromised your integrity by cheating. Art
  18. O.K. then send me your address and we will pack the ether and rope and "pick" you up. Art
  19. Great pictures I read the header to fast and wanted to see what a greasy Crappie looked like. Art
  20. I have never been charged by my mechanic of 15 years either for a code. Just as Bernie said he treats people right and you treat him right you all come out ahead. You got to remember that if your mechanic knows he gets all of your work he will treat you fairly and you know the job is done right or if it has an issue you are his top priority. Forget the code scanner and strike up a relationship with a local mechanic it will be a better investment in the long run. Art
  21. Please do not use the rope trick to catch the gar unless you are willing to take the time to remove all of the fibers from the fishes mouth. If you leave some behind their jaws will become stuck together and they starve to death. Art
  22. See now we are jealous of what you have. Free time to enjoy nature in your own backyard is some thing we can not buy . We have to make due with a few new trinkets to keep us going. Sometimes the grass is really greener on your side of the fence. Art
