  1. When I fish for eyes I usually start at the thermocline when possible and work my way in to shallower water...Like always, clear water/natural colors, stained water/bright colors like Spiel suggested. Chartreuse is usually the go getter color for eyes but that may vary as well.
  2. With the sharks jumping out of the water like they were the last place I would want to be is in a yak Other than that no problemo...
  3. Heres my boy Sam. This is what he likes to do more than anything.... I'm pretty pround of Sam seeing that he's totaly blind in one eye and has been since birth. You never know it. Hers Sams older brother Arnie. He's been my fishing partner for the past 14 years but now has gave up his spot in the boat for his younger predecessor Sam. Now Arnie spends his days sleeping in his bed and being a grouchy old bugger. He hates his picture being taken.... Heres a picture of Arnie and I fishing when he was a lot younger. He always loved to lick walleye before I put them on the stringer... Cheers
  4. Yup,she's a cute one. Looks like she's fitting in just fine. Won't be long before the cats are cuddling up with her for afternoon naps.
  5. Ya ya ya,when I was a young buck I used to put the hammer down and header up north from London no stops in five hours flat doing a 120 all the way with or without a boat in tow but things have changed a little now that Ive got about 100 trips behind me...Tend to taker easy and enjoy the scenery a little more(insert old fart here)
  6. If you don't mind a 4 hour car ride from TO Kevin at Lakair has everything your looking for. http://www.lakair.com/
  7. Heres one I took a picture of while fishing the Thames River near London. I was told it was an Egret.
  8. Happy birthday Roy. Hope you had yourself a great day
  9. I'll be there in a couple minutes
  10. Joey, You sure those aren't Asian Carp jumping behind the boat Looks like you guys had an awsome day !!
  11. I think there was some talk awhile ago about a muskie version Ugly Stick that one of our members had acquired at a reasonable price. I thought it was a good pole for someone to start out with and get the feel of the hole muskie fishing thing.Heres the link to the pole. http://www.shakespeare-fishing.com/products/rods/ugly-tiger_2007.shtml
  12. In the past Ive fished their in the fall and done well. Troll with medium size body baits, 8 inch jakes or rapalla supershads.. http://www.jacksonlures.com/Commerce2/Jake.htand toss bucktails in around the rock shoals near weed beds going to deeper water. Get a hydro map of the river showing right up to Nippissing. Lots of water to cover so if you want to hit all the premo spots make yourself a milk run and run and gun the areas which you laid out on your map. Good Luck !!
  13. Mark, I have a Berkley 7/8 weight that does very well. Not a high end pole by any means but when your chucking those bigger fly's for bass and stealhead I don't think the fish know the difference what kind of pole your using:D Pretty sure you can get something comparable at you local CT or fishing shop for a reasonable price. I also have lighter outfits for trout fishing in smaller tribs, 3 and 4 weight combo's.You need the lighter wt line and finer tippits to deliver smaller flies more delicately to the fish without spooking them. Pretty much have to match your pole to the fish and conditions when fly fishing.
  14. Sam, Nice combo !! Now all you got to do is get Gerrit to take you out and put you on some fish. Hey Sam remember this guy ??
  15. I'm sure if we planned it for next year Kevin would have most of the shore lunch stuff ready for us to use. Perhaps do it on the Friday before the pike tourney ?? I could arrange it with Kevin.
  16. Hey Sam,Sam miss's ya Had a great time with you and your family at Lakair. Thank your mom for me for the great dinner she put together for us.. Chris
  17. Ive had a couple of old fibre glass canoes as well but never had to repair the gunnels. Shouldn't be to hard to replace with a little ingenuity.
  18. Welcome to our site Trevor. I'm also a Londoner and periodically fish the Thames as well. Mostly the north branch. Seems to have cleaned up alot since Springbank Dam has been open and the river returned to its more natural state.
  19. Nice seeing you guys again this year Rich. Great pics and report too.Little hint Rich for next year.Cabbage beds are always up first along the north shore line Cheers !!
  20. Absolutely beautiful fish.Thanx for sharing it with us.
  21. Great pics Joey!! As usual you were an exellent fishing partner . Too bad about the tarp on the way home. Spiels tarp also got a little torn up on that trip but not as bad as yours. Oh well,we all made it home in one piece with the boats so all is good. I still can't believe they turned you and Paul around where they did. What a bummer....Oh,and whats this SpecialK thing.Me thinks I have to have a little talk with my buddy Spiel Cheers
