  1. Ok, so I assume they will strip down and clean reels as well? I will give em a call.
  2. Use full synthetic in my Jeeps- perform changes myself- cheap and easy- my '96 5.2 litre had over 410,000 kms- no issues ( body fell off). Still use the old stuff in my 4 stroke and injected yamaha o/b- what the manual calls for- also, automotive motors do not usually maintain high rpm for very long, unlike my o/b- I have heard synth oils are not that great with extended high rpm.
  3. Wow, I thought hemi Chargers could do everything- even float. Love the old Chargers- have a '66 of my own ( no Hemi though...)
  4. I know this is early, hard water has just started, but i am hoping to pick up a couple of boat seats for my Starcraft for next season. The factory seats are beautiful to behold but after a few hours in them- they suck. Maybe the foam has just worn out, but i have found Lund seats etc to be far superior. I really need a seat with some support for my butt- I usually use an orthotic seat cushion while trolling. Should I be looking at newer Starcraft seats from a dealer, or can Bass Pro hook me up?
  5. Actually, the truck driver was a local.
  6. Right after the guy in the truck doing donuts they showed my son on his yellow Mach Z- it was pretty cool to see. I have spoken to him several times about safety and he is pretty cautious. He has witnessed two deaths and a serious accident in the last two seasons(including last night) so I hope he has gotten the message. NO way would I be driving a full size truck on any ice down here right now- no way!
  7. Have heard from my son and a co-worker- two deaths last night at the bottom of Cooks Bay at Pasadena Marina. One sled hit the break-wall, and another collided with a pickup- two separate incidents I think but close together both in time and distance. My coworker was up all night as he had to deal with his son and family that knew the one lad, my son knew him as well. I think my fellow worker also was on the scene and helped Police and EMS get them off the ice. haven't seen it on the news yet.
  8. Kerry- wouldn't surprise me if the ice was questionable off of the launch near the canal- no doubt some water movement there.
  9. Good to hear of the small Musky- hopefully the MNR's work with them will pay off!
  10. Please catch and keep PIke by all means- be aware that incidental Musky must be released quickly and safely. I would try the lower ends of West and South bays- look for around 8 to 12' of water would put you in scattered weeds or just outside the deep weed edge.
  11. Squirrel tail hairs are fairly short to use- would take a lot of work. If you plan on stripping and curing the complete tail as a single unit and hanging hooks from it- that would be interesting!
  12. I second TD Insurance. I had my sleds with them for years. My 18 year old son just insured a 2001 Mach Z triple for well under 300 with everything except collision.
  13. Tosky has played pretty well as of late- until they went up against a much better team. Lets face it the Leafs are not a good team on paper and can compete with only other not so great teams. Boston, Buffalo. Chicago etc will, and have eaten them up. Would have been fine if we had some draft pics for next year but.......
  14. They are running sleds and 4 wheelers on Cooks Bay as of yesterday.
  15. Kiss is a great band and one of the most influential ever. Too bad abut the reschedule though- hopefully the summer show will come off and rock.
  16. Have used them for Musky in the Kawartha's- solid lures for sure.
  17. Nothing you can do- I'm sure more than a few Musky will be pulled up through the ice. I don't relish the thought of dealing with fish up to 50" and 30 lbs in a hut much! Be careful, keep your hut clear of things that might injure the fish or end up in the lake during a tussle. If all anglers use is a single hook rig for live bait- a breakoff might be the best thing for a big girl. Wouldn't want to see a couple of trebles and a wire leader hanging from her mouth though.
  18. Musky fishing is like that- I got bit by it in 2000 and haven't looked back since. I do well in the Kawarthas and finally managed a big girl in G Bay a few years back. Love 'em!
  19. wont Ski fish without my Beckman- I love it. Would like a longer handle for when fishing by myself- especially with the longer of the two rods I use. I leave the handle locked in place and have enough room to lay the net down one side of my 17" Starcraft
  20. As a Provincial Park ( the Massassauga) I believe the ramp closes with the Park on Thanksgiving- too bad, they have an awesome ramp!
  21. We caught them last week at ACC in Toronto and my son and girlfriend went to the Oshawa show as well. I have been a huge fan since '79, can't believe they are as big now as they were then. My son is 17, saw his first show in Hamilton when he was about 5, never thought my son would get to see KISS live!, much less when he was a teenager as I was. Maybe my grandchildren will be able to see them someday...............hope not!
  22. Maybe as the Musky get reestablished into Simcoe from the restoration process- they will eventually make their way into the Kawarthas and establish a deep water spawning Ski fishery- assuming deep water spawning sites are available. Might take a few years though..........
  23. Well it cant hurt to keep the Pike! We brought 2 home from Balsam the other day- very tasty. The MNR may be taking steps as well to reduce Pike numbers in the Kawarthas. I cant believe how slow the spread has been really- how long has the trent system been open- many, many years. I think if there is a concerted effort made to reduce Pike numbers it will help.
  24. Check this stuff out... http://www.trojantackle.ca/index.htm
  25. Yes, plenty of PIke, and very tasty!
