If they were to disable the lane using lane markers, flares, pylons or even park the vehicle in the lane of traffic with the beacon on the roof aiming cars out of the lane. If it is about safety then do it all the way, if not, charge $500.

I agree... We also got hosed. Going to cost me about between $1500 and $3000 to get a new chimnea liner when our inspector didn't notice at all the something didn't look right. New home buyers inspector caught it right away. Also our real estate agent didn't do due diligence in noting that the wett certification being provided noted that it did not pass. I know how to do my job very well, I expect when I pay for services that I don't have to do theirs!!!
