  1. As someone who recently lost a parent, chin up my friend. The memories will live on for always. Phil
  2. Opps, sorry, clean some PMs out. If you head out this weekend PM me. Phil PS. watch out for shopping carts in Oshawa. Bubbles would be in heaven
  3. Been there done that Bill... took the cinder block and rope out of the truck earlier this spring. It's about 6-7 ft there... and I already had a bath.
  4. Solid advice there. An example, I was running a 2.5ft lead in about 6ft of water last time out. Rest of the crew ran deep, they thought it was my bait, I beleive it was more the lead combined with the type of bait. Simply time on the water to figure this stuff out. IF you head east fire me a PM skeeter.
  5. And it's the only part of the river........... Frozen. Mother Nature can be so cruel! Sucked it up and headed out with the crowds, got one decent hen right away. Took off after a brazen fellow came with-in 10 inches of my bait to see what I was using... I told him it was a "Handlebarz" lure. You should get an email soon Mike P.
  6. I've had 2 of them. First was an 84 and beat the snot out of it in the bush and it still got me back and forth to work on the 401 daily, even if the rug was hanging out of the floor boards. However, my fav was my 87. Suspension lift with 31's. Man I loved that Cherokee. Sold it to my bro and it would still be on the road if he wasn't sideswipped and wrote it off. Good Luck with the 91, I have 4x4'ed with a few different vehicles and the cherokee is still one of my favs.
  7. Great work guys!!! Hoping to get my girls out for this event.
  8. Hey HH, we got into them pretty good, they have moved up in certain spots. Send me a PM and I'll give you the wrong directions. Phil
  9. Great, now I have to share a favourite stretch of river with another angler.
  10. Interesting, I was more thinking along the weed edges in 8-12ft of water. Either a wacky or nose hook with a slip float to shake it around. This should leave it in the zone longer and hopefully peeve them enough to come out... we'll see.
  11. If you look really close I think you can see an engineer ring on his pinky!
  12. Nice veiw Lew, I am jealous of you, I'll pay my due, and one day live up by you. Tootalew. Is it friday yet?
  13. I'll have a look at home tonight and like/share.
  14. Great report Dan. Looks like you had a blast!
  15. Or the blonde, brunette, redhead, or "who cares she fishes" thread.
  16. In the flyer for the Bowmanville store they had 40% off fishnig items. I was there first thing and saved 50 cents on a few lindy rigs. Not much else unless you want cheap combos. Hopefully when they build the new store in Bowmanville they'll have a blow out... here's hoping anyways.
  17. Being a hard core jig fisherman for bass, it will be hard to drop that rod. But, I would like to try dailing in cranks a bit more for largies. Also, I AM GOING TO TRY THIS - THIS YEAR, I have to engrave that in my brain. I have an idea to use a slip float for finiky bass around weedlines and other structure when there is a undergrowth. I've pondered it for a few years now.. but sometimes it's tough to try new things when you are pressed for time on the water. I figure this would still give a vertical presentation when you usually have to fish this water horizontally to avoid burying your bait in the undergrowth/silt. I AM GOING TO TRY THIS - THIS YEAR.
  18. Here are a couple tidbits: Since it is a foreman position you should - brush up on Health and Safety policies, whimis etc. - dicipline of staff(especially in an unionized environment) - know the payroll/benefits as much as you can - as mentioned the what "if" or scenario I.e. You have an employee who was fantastic. Over the last two months they have been late, don't do anything. How do you handle this? Couple things to think about. Good Luck and be confident.
  19. Hopefully I'll find a can of peas tomorrow.
  20. Picked up some litter on the way into an area, it was bang on!
  21. Wow, that's crazy Dick, I never knew you were Italian, Ciao
  22. Muddy, high, expired chocolate milk looking including clumps. Not worth it at all. But hey, up to you to take my word for it. Kidding around, but all the rivers/creeks clear out different. You HAVE to have a look for yourself. My fishable water may be different then yours.
  23. I have to stop getting so excited when I see these titles from Simcoe fish. I have to acccept I am probably not going to get my original wedding ring back.
