  5. Wow, that's insane. You can actually see the debris settling in the valleys and lowlands. Crazy. Thanks for posting.
  6. As Craig touched on, in the states they create brush piles in structure vacant waterways to attrach and hold fish. Kind of like us walking into a huge emtpy room and there is one chair in the middle, where are you going to go? I have "heard of" certain folks who do something like this on Simcoe. Except they use pantyhose and stuff them with bacon or tuna and a rock to bait areas for smallmouth. Not so much structure, but still illegal I believe. Only hearsy however.
  7. Ummm, Lew, we have a date to go fishing soon... Quit it. Luv Me
  8. Hi all, I just got this email from my cousin whos son is one of the bravest people I know. Took me a few seconds to do.. thought I would share it with you all. Please see below. This is a letter writing campaign to Canada Post asking them to create a stamp to honour the 10,000 kids living with cancer in Canada. Obviously, this is close to our hearts as we've watched our 9 year old son battle cancer for 7 years now. He is truly a hero. The website is www.goldribboncampaign.org This campaign was started by a 16 year old, three time brain tumour survivor and her 2 sisters. You can pull up the letter and email it back to them and they will forward it to Canada Post. Please pass it on.
  9. If you don't mind me asking corvette1, how was your buying experience on Ebay for the truck? I am looking for the exact same vehicle, 03 to 04. Up here they are still well over the 10,000 mark. Did you see the truck first, or just "wing" it? Just curious. Phil
  10. man, sorry we had to miss this Mike. Great report as usual. I'll send Paul the link to this report...alittle salt for his stab wounds.
  11. Can't tell 100% by the pic as it looks alittle thin, but the oringal Tobys can sell for over $100 bucks.
  12. Great stuff. Is the one spoon on the right a "Abu toby"? If so, it could be worth something. Looks like an original Williams there too. Mike, that rapala is a nice keep sake. Not worth alot yet, but could be.
  13. Awesome bud. Maybe we'll see ya bouncing around the tribs out east. I'll look for the reel. Phil
  14. I am echoing Lew. Not like it once was. However, there is still good largemouth but you have to fish the real heavy junk. Half decent pannies too.
  15. Don't buy beer there! There is a place just down the street that has $4 pints 4-7pm and great scenery. Including fresh Guinness some nights. Name starts with Loose.
  16. Vin, where is he. I am moving and have a couch, dresser and maybe a couple other things he can have. Let me know.
  17. When you know what you are talking about the nerves will fade fast. You'll do Fine sir! Now, my first few times doing Improv in front of a crowd....that was horrifying.
  18. AWESOME!!! Thank you so much to those who have filled out the survey already. There have been some great comments and insight. We truly appreciate it! Phil
  19. WOW, Charlie Sheen just filled out our survey, he says we're WINNING! Just a bump!
  20. Hi all, hope you are enjoying the our toons here on OFC. We have permission from the powers that be to post this survey. Myself and Maureen from Off the Dock Toons are in the process of creating an animated short pilot of our toons for TV. We have put together a small survey posted on our site. We were hoping we could recruit a few OFC folks to take a second and fill it out for us. There are some great things are happening with OTD in the short time since creation. However, we are very interested in collecting your input so we have all the ammunition we can when we are presenting this. Help us get a fun fishing cartoon on the air! Thank you in advance for your time. Phil and Maureen Creators "Off the Dock" Toons
  21. It's a very tough business. I know first hand. The overhead is crazy and you need to be "very" busy to make it work and worth while. I never really guided on the ice much with the overhead, insurance and liability involved... plus not alot of our friends south of the border care alot about ice fishing.(and our clients that did have it in their backyard) You'd have to be booked for atleast 5 days a week to make it a go.. for us anyhow. When choosing any guide, check references, make sure they have ALL their licenses (coast guard etc.) Another thing we did was get first aid and cpr certified and had medical supplies on board. Ya never know what can happen. #1 thing though is to check references! But to be fair, it is fishing and there ARE bad days. Customer service skills dictate how those are handled however.
  22. It's been a while since I have smiled so much Brian! Great way to start a Monday, Absolutely adorable!
