Wow that is a rare situation indeed...I haven't seen a better deal in ON compared to U.S. in a long time. Let's all hope they bring their ordering system to the Net so that they can truly compete for our business with the like of Cabela's...

Damn propoganda! I'm still buying a Lund though...
So if you have the same thickness aluminum, rivets are prone to loosening/leaking and welds to cracking...
I'd rather have a leak in a rivet, than a crack in a weld if I had to choose...I think

Yeah I hear ya T.J.
Unfortunately it requires an upgrade to digital cable from my local cable company...too bad they don't have it on analogue cable, as it's almost double the price for digital...for just the 1 additional channel.
Simple business rules...supply/demand
They just aren't sold in the same quantities as baitcasters and spinning reels, yet they are a fraction of the cost to build.
Frame, spindle, bearings and a spool that's it!

I'd say look into a J.W. Young Purist or Bob James if you are looking for a float reel with drag ($$$ though!).
Here is the Bob James centre-pin:
Otherwise, all the rest are drag-free models and the Aventa is a good starter reel. If you are looking for something a little higher in quality, you can't go wrong with an Islander...

Sweet looking fish, I assume that these are all Canadian?
I fished one NY Tributary on Saturday and got a handfull of browns. Fished locally Sunday at the mouth of a Lake O trib and got skunked...
I wish the ON government would do more for the ailing Lake Ontario migratory fishery. I live 10 mins from a great tributary, but travel hours just to catch some fish..

Think about partnering with Facebook, I believe you can purchase peoples souls via advertising fees on there now...
