  1. Not only was he being a bully, he was breaking the law! Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation act Obstruction of hunting, trapping or fishing 13. (1) A person shall not interfere with lawful hunting, trapping or fishing by, (a) tampering with traps, nets, bait, firearms or any other thing used for hunting, trapping or fishing; ( placing himself or herself in a position, for the purpose of interfering, that hinders or prevents hunting, trapping or fishing; or © engaging in an activity, for the purpose of interfering, that disturbs or is likely to disturb wildlife or fish.
  2. I have removed the Ventvisors from the pickup I got, as the driver side one was busted. I have since replaced them with a different style raingaurd. The ones I pulled off are still fine, but they don't have the adhesive tape on them anymore. (Spent 2 hours scarping/cleaning it off the paint last night ) So I have the 2 rear visors and the passenger side front visor to whoever wants them. I think you can buy the double-sided 3M tape to use with them at Canadian Tire... Hopefully someone who has a busted one can take advantage of this offer. Pickup in Burlington http://www.autoventshade.com/PartDetail.as...amp;catcode=AUT
  3. Check out the Humminbird 343c Portable, it costs just a bit more than the Fishin Buddy and is a better sonar for the money. http://store.humminbird.com/humminbird-pro...od407000-1.html Also, forget about the suction cup mount, they always come off and you risk getting the cable chopped/wrapped up in the propeller of your motor. The best product I have seen and use personally is the Titelok Transducer Holder. Stays in place at full speed, and goes easily on and off the boat. I also use mine and clampt it on a 5gal pail when ice fishing. http://www.titelok.com/product_info.php?cP...products_id=123 I actually purchased the 585c Humminbird and then just bought the portable case from Humminbird and converted it to use 2 x 6Volt Gel Cells which I can recharge with a 12-volt AC adapter I picked up from the local hobby shop. The nice thing is that it uses the standard quick-connect bracket in the portable case as well as the one you mount in the boat. So I can instantly switch it to my bow-mount sonar or into the portable case if I'm using my small aluminum boat in back lakes or ice fishing. Have fun with the new sonar, but save yourself the sunction cup headaches and go with a titelok transducer holder. Tony
  4. It's just fatty tissue that is usually just under the skin and along the lateral line. Some people like it, but I always cut it out as it has a nasty bitter taste to it.
  5. Great....looming plant shutdowns to affect worker morale just after I order my Lund
  6. Common Carp have co-existed with 'gamefish' for hundreds of years and are here to stay. Our fisheries are being destroyed by pollution, over-harvest and the loss of quality spawning habitat, not Carp! (true that common carp in numbers can contribute to habitat destruction, but not on the scale other factors contribute) Now the Asian carp is a whole different story, that species of carp has not been historically introduced and fits the definition of an invasive species better than the common carp. They are being strictly controlled for a reason. Tony
  7. I think Aaron bought an '08 same model truck, but he gets all the employee discounts the lucky bugger.
  8. Yeah, it all started with the idea of getting a boat. To achieve that, we moved out of our townhouse and into a detached house with enough room to build a garage for the boat. Then ordering the boat and of course now just getting the truck. So the Garage is completed, except interior & insulation, the truck is here, but still waiting for the boat! But, now I can use the truck to pickup the materials to finish the interior of the garage I just hope September comes fast, as that is when I estimate the 2009 Lund to arrive. Surpisingly, we were able to get the truck payment and boat payment + boat insurance under our budget with just over $100 to spare. That will of course automatically get added to the seperate fuel budget which in my estimation is short now with the increased costs of fuel. Probably going to be $350-450 to fill the truck and boat from empty So you can bet I'll be trying to fill all 4 seats in the boat and truck as much as I can to share fuel costs It shouldn't be too hard to find some people who want to get out in the boat, I know I have always been grateful when people took me out so now I can hopefully return the favors. Tony
  9. Now when the Lund arrives I will actually be able to tow it home Tony
  10. Nothing surprises me anymore. Better start getting used to City property being flagged for No Fishing under the Trespass to Property Act...These signs went up at a nearby rivermouth recently...
  11. My PB ~ 34lbs
  12. It's all about the truth, and I think we will see more of it as mainstream media begins/continues to fall behind realtime reporting thanks to digital media and the Internet. The problem is that so many people just plop down and watch the freakin' T.V. and take everything as the truth from it!
  13. I thought Zeitgeist was a great documentary. The part on 911 is truly scary if it's true. When they showed the controlled demolition next to how the towers fell, it was uncanny George Carlins' skit was also hilarious on Religion...so true! I recommended this to many people I know, just watch with an open mind!
  14. Very nice Raf, gotta love the colours on the inland lakers, just beauty!
  15. Had a slow leak in a tire, after 2 return trips they discover today that there is a pinhole in the rim! I've never heard of that before. So I dismiss it and open a fruit bottom yogurt to eat while reading OFC, and there is NO FRUIT in the bottom! Not as bad as your day, but still strange! Tony

    JOBS

John, that is by far one of the best pieces of advice in this whole thread. Thanks for sharing it! and people, please re-read this! Anyway, my story was that I graduated Fish & Wildlife Tech but the money wasn't in it that would support the lifestyle I wanted (Fishing is expensive!) Went back to school and graduated as a Network & Hardware Tech and have been working in the IT industry for the past 9 years from Call center tech support up to IT Manager today. It has it's challenges (constant learning and certification required) but the pay affords me the lifestyle I choose to live. E.g. 2009 Lund 1900 ProV on order! Tony
  17. There is a neat gadget that will alarm you when it reaches the high-water point that you set... http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0037803018258a.shtml Tony
  18. Don't mean to hijack this thread or veer off topic but... They said mid-august but I'm banking on more like mid-september...Lund hasn't even updated their website for the 2009 models yet. I think they change to the next model year sometime in July??? Either way, I don't imagine they will be changing much from the 2008 to the 2009 1900 Pro-V. Right now I'm busy buying all the safety gear, electronics, rod holders, etc
  19. Just awesome! I think it's pretty amazing that you can go get those numbers of fish from shore at pretty much anytime of the year and they are usually into the double-digits! Good carpin' and also nice to see you drew a crowd from the people out for a walk. It's always fun to show people that there are lots of healthy fish in Lake Ontario Most non-fishermen think it's just a big cesspool and I'm sure that contributes to the blaze attitude people have about littereing/polluting in general around the waterbody. Thanks for sharing! Tony
  20. Wow! That does sound like great service, almost enough to make you suspicious of what their real motive is haha! Just so rare to have great service like that nowadays. Just don't try any tug of wars with other boats using that e-tec Tony
  21. Wow! you sure hit the jackpot this early Fathers day! A testament to your character as a dad I'm sure, no go put all that great stuff to use Tony
  22. Ditto! Just ordered my Lund from them and they had good prices compared to some other Lund dealers. Ask to speak with Clarence Tony
  23. Can't add much more than that has to be one of the greatest compilations for a website I have ever seen You outdid yourself Cliff!
  24. Whoah! the last 4 months are a blur and while little fishing has taken place, I am happy to say that my fishing future ahead is looking very bright. I have managed to get some fishing in, and managed to Ice my first Whitefish this past winter as well and finished first at the Tyler derby and a few trips locally recently for Carp. But anyway, here is what has happened since I was last seen around these parts. I finally switched jobs! After 4 years with my previous employer it was time to move on and an excellent opprtunity presented itself and I jumped at it. I am now settling in nicely at the new company and I must say that everything is better. I am busier, more responsibility, better pay, nicer people, etc, etc. So that is good. Also, just passed my 2nd wedding anniversary and looking forward to at least 50 more with my awesome wife Amanda. She is so awesome that we were able to order my dreamboat recently, and will be purchasing a tow vehicle in the form of a pickup very soon. I couldn't have reached this point without her project management skills helping with our budget and planning So here are the details on the vessel: 2009 Lund 1900 Pro-V IFS SE (Black with platinum interior) 225hp Mercury Verado 9.9hp Mercury Pro Kicker (For trolling) 101lb Maxxum Pro bow mount trolling motor Washdown system Vinyl floor with snap-in carpet and all the other goodies that come standard with the Pro-V There were no more 2008 production slots available so unfortunately I'll be waiting until the end of the summer when the 2009 production begins. I've been waiting years so a few more months isn't that huge a deal, plus I can use it until December anyway! You should be seeing more of me around here as chaos is slowly turning into order in my life. Tony
