yup .. anchor (bring 2 to stop the wind from swinging back end) or nose first into the reeds ... cast out a chunk of sucker or worms or minnows .. sit back and wait
What time is everyone heading out there ... I might be able to make it for a couple hours .. meeting at fishmasters??? .. BBQ???? .. pt Maitland???
I picked up a new minkota bowmount a little while back .. finely had some decent weather to get moving on installing it .. the old fiberglass deck had to come off due to the fact that the motor needs a flat surface to mount to ... after peeling off the fiberglass I found aluminum plate under it which I tore out too
made up a new deck for the front and extended the existing deck
installed the motor to the front
just have to install the carpet on the casting deck and reinstall the doors and it should be good to go .. with any luck the weather this week will cooperate and I get out to Dunnville for some cats next weekend
guess you dont fish anywhere where 2 rods are LEGAL .. try fishing Erie sometime .. oh wait .. that would mean you would want a pic with both fish .. and we all know thats just wrong
I made a set using the stringer clips also .. i just painted them 5 different colors instead of going thru the trouble of ropes and floats .. enjoy that wine
since the floor is open I would just get a 1/4-20 stainless bolt .. lock washer .. and nut .. use marine goop around the bolt .. slide it thru from the outside .. install lock washer and nut .. wont rust and wont cost a fortune
Looks good .. the only thing I would do different is replace the socket heads with stainless hex bolts .. I have made a few thing for my boat and socket heads rust real quick
The Beer Store
I did stop in to CT today and picked up a Plano soft side tackle bag with 4 3700 utility boxes for 16 bucks .. needed somewhere to put all my lures I picked up from Bass Pro
Got there this am just before opening .. people lined up outside waiting to open .. got the new battery I went for and a few other things .. I got the last size 13 shoe
Suckers come up in the spring as well as trout (some are there now) .. trout doesn't open until the end of April in most rivers .. there are some rivers with extended seasons/open all year on certain stretches of the river
its part frozen part open water on the opposite side of the Hwy 403 ... would not trust it to be frozen solid enough to fish ( I need alot of ice to fish on .. I dont like swimming) ... better off going to the lift bridge or Bronte if you want to fish in the rain
Bass Pro has a sale on their XPS Deep cycle 175 battery .. I picked up a trolling motor and need something to power it .. anyone have this battery ?? .. are they holding a charge well?? .. I am planning on heading down this weekend to pick one up .. and probably a whole lot of other stuff I am not planning on
