  1. almost thought for a second you caught 2 atlantics in the same pic (atlantics do get dark during the spawn aka black salmon) but the top one has spots on the tail
  2. our best isn't starting though, hes the best available pitcher, i would have went with sanchez or happ if they were available
  3. yea, but detroit crapped the bucket and lost twice to atlanta. and jays beat boston, so it didn't matter lol
  4. i said it a long time ago, its going to come down to game 162.
  5. tons of deer hair, and some feathers. can include bass too, they'll take a baby duck
  6. love my simms freestone waders, going on year 4 with them! other good options are bare waders, and orvis silver sonic waders
  7. 2 years ago they moved the date of float your fanny to the week before opener, to much outcry from a ton of people. it used to be 3 weeks earlier. but our unusually cold winter left the river frozen and frigid for too long. they need to move the date back to where it was. the ladder doesn't open until 2 or 3 weeks prior to opener anyway. so no spawning fish will be disrupted in the float down.
  8. isn't it funny how someone elses problems suddenly become yours when home buying and selling? glad you guys got it all settled out and you are in your new place! now the fun begins of 'where did i put that' lol
  9. unless he has a deed that states he owns the river bed, not much he can do if people stay within the high water mark, and depending on the size of the river, can be a ways back from the waters edge
  10. saw this on my FB feed the other day, one giant mushroom!!!! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153685777376356&set=a.10150623090906356.384626.503191355&type=3&theater
  11. post it up on kijiji, or put it curbside, someone will scoop it.
  12. musky lures are lost on me. never been, don't know them. biggest lure i cast is a j12
  13. ok, so basically boils down to what you're more comfortable with. I've never gone musky fishing, so not sure of the gear used and whatnot. maybe someday.
  14. the figure 8 i can see, but wouldn't the heavy duty salt water reels stand up to tossing big baits?
  15. question for the experienced, why do musky fisherman prefer baitcasters over spinning gear?
  16. i've had walleye strike with less than 2ft of line out, makes a pretty good shock, could not imagine a 30lb fish striking with that much line out
  17. http://www.outdoorhub.com/news/2016/08/19/video-violent-muskie-strike-see-believe/
  18. my understanding is that the difference in spawning times makes the pike a huge threat, ie pike spawn sooner, and their fry then feed off the musky fry. a couple months later
  19. there is no organization responsible for this event, everyone except the people participating knew what was going to happen, so they were prepared. if you've ever seen the st clair river on a weekend, its no walk in the park, boat traffic alone kicks up 3ft waves on a calm day, not to mention the shipping freighters that come through. they were all shipped back across the border via city bus with police escort. being from Sarnia, and seeing it first hand, its similar to that of float your fanny down the ganny, but with no safety measures.
  20. its one thing to walk away on your own, its another to walk away because you are forced to, sad day in the music world. wish i could have watched them live in person, but seeing them live on tv is the next best thing. i've got recorded on pvr to watch again. a good read http://www.cbcmusic.ca/posts/11589/the-true-tragic-and-inspiring-canadian-stories-beh
  21. they probably don't have the room in the shop to store them.
  22. a couple of golds in the last 2 days, and something smelly at the dive centre....... also an epic match between the US and Brazil mens Volleyball teams.
