  1. Muskies will bite at any time of the day, and the transition from darkness to daylight is certainly a trigger for them, but I've always had my best success in the hour before sunset and the 2 hours that follow. 8-10 AM isn't really a transition from anything but is ceretainly a good time to try your luck. Just remember, you'll never catch one from your living room, and if 8 - 10 is the only time you can get out on the water, then that is the best time to give it a shot. Best of luck and don't ferget to let us know how you make out
  2. Didn't figure you'd ever use anything but a BumbleBee Believer again Wayne
  3. I read where it's best to add the stabilizer to a seperate gallon of gas 1st, mix that well, then pour it into the tank with the rest of the gas. Supposedly it mixes better that way.
  4. Didn't know you were having back problems Shawn, but best of luck today !! I had back surgery myself a few years ago and it was a piece of cake, nothing like I thought it would be, so hopefully it'll all go as well for you
  5. Would varnish still form if gas stabilizer was run thru the motor before storage ?? I was always under the impression that was basically the sole purpose of using a stabilizer.
  6. Guess we'll be hearing from whatshisname pretty soon, wait for it........
  7. Good stuff Pete, you guys do an awesome job !!
  8. Twas a fun trip indeed Wayne and you definetely had the hot bait for the day. At one point, I was cleaning weeds off my bait and you got a fish, then released it and got the next one before I even got back in the water It was Waynes 1st time on the bog and only a couple times for me, but I think we were both surprised at how rough that little lake became after the winds really started to build in the afternoon. The weeds were unbelievably thick too, everywhere, and I think we spent more time cleaning baits than fishing them. Still very healthy though, bright green and plenty of places to hold fish. Don't know where all the fishermen were though, we spent 8 hours out there and saw a grand total of 2 other boats.....ya gotta luv that !! Thanks again Musky Wayne, it was a blast, I always enjoy fishing with you, and anytime your lookin to mix up a bit of business & pleasure again, just gimme a call.
  9. I always use the oil & filters recommended by the manufacturer too Brian, Honda for you & Merc oil for me. It probably costs more but it gives me piece of mind using the right stuff. Also a good idea to replace the small washers when you remove the screws from the lower end to change that oil too. Their only a few ¢ but something that many neglect to change.
  10. Couple nice piggies there Brian, but jeeeeeeez, folks say I'M the one that never smiles in fish'n pictures
  11. Really good to hear that things are progressing well for you Steve and good of you to share your experiences in hopes that it helps someone else. My offer of some boat fishing is still there anytime your ready.
  12. Always nice when a deal comes together, and good luck with the new gear Kevin.
  13. Well, if your lookin for opinions, I'd say go for that big Tundra without a doubt. I've seen Pete Maina's boat up close and personal, plus a few other big Tundras and their incredible boats and would serve both of your purposes very well. An excellent fishing boat, plus it'd also be a great family boat. Bass boats are pretty & all and great for roaring around at 80 MPH and serving their main purpose, but if your lookin for a dual purpose ride, family & fishing, the Tunrda gets my vote.
  14. Fantastic Pete & congrats to Charmaine on catching that beaut Hope your gonna enlarge & frame that picture !!
  15. Congrats on finally getting a boat Mo, it looks good !! Let the fish'n reports begin
  16. Moosebunk would be your man, he's experienced with spoon fishing and has a definete flair with a pen . He's also a topnotch photographer to boot.
  17. WTG Terry, purty fish !!
  18. Happy B-Day to ya Mike, hope your day was a great one !!
  19. Yup, had to reset mine this morning too Kev.
  20. Awesome stuff Spiel, that's a great way to spend a day !!
  21. Thanks Steve, I don't know the name, but certainly recognize the face.
  22. I know who you mean Steve, but I've lost his phone # I took a couple reels to him 2 years ago for tune-ups and he told me to come back in a couple days to pick them up. When I came back to get them, he told me reel #1 needed some new parts, but he didn't bother ordering them When I asked him how he made out with reel #2 he just shrugged his shoulders and said he never looked at it, and handed them both back to me When I asked why he disn't fix them, he just said ........again I got the impression I was intruding on his time, so I took them out to Aikmens who fixed them up like new as he always does. It's a long drive out to Aikmens for me too, but ya gets what ya pays for
  23. Brian, in the 10th picture down, who's the fella standing beside Mercer in the black sweater with red writing on the front ?? I see him around town the odd time.
  24. Thanks Mike, that's what I wanted to hear, and if it's 1/2 as good as the Globalmap I'll be more than happy. Lookin forward to getting rid of the b/w unit and catching up with the 21st century
  25. Jeeeeez Mike, the days half over by 3:00 AM Thanks for the fish'n story, sounds like you & the rest of the crew had an excellent day on Quinte. That's one body of water that can definetely get very nasty when the wind blows up and some times you just have to call it a day. You had a long day but well worth it !!
