  1. I like this one from last summer, me & the Mrs. out for an evening cruise.
  2. Sonny, you guys gonna be around on the May long weekend ?? We fish down by the ferry after dark, but will be in Hay Bay during the day on Saturday & Sunday, so have a look for a green Crestliner
  3. Good to see you decided to post it Mike. You'll be getting slimed in style now bud !!
  4. Nothing exotic for me this year. Heading down to Quinte in 2 weeks for our annual pickeral trip, in June it's 7 days at Lakair and then another week or so at Lakair in August. I always do a few days on the Ottawa River for muskies but haven't set a firm date yet. November is our annual musky trip to St. Clair and we always close the season on the Niagara in December. Other than that, I'll be spending most of the summer around the Kawarthas, but being retired with absolutely no schedule ........ ........ I could end up hauling my boat just about anywheres
  5. Used to spend alot of time.... (and money) .... in that store too Dan. They were good stores, too bad they're no longer around.
  6. I just got this Coleman tent a couple weeks ago. I like alot of room in a tent as I'm usually gone about a week at a time and this one should work well for me. It's 9 x 12 and over 7' high with 2 doors including a hinged one in front and 4 windows. There's a couple vents close to the ground plus a zippered opening to run an extension cord inside for lights or a heater. I've used Coleman gear, including tents for many many years and they always make a quality product. It wasn't available in Canada but I ordered it from a place in New Jersey called Campmor and saved $70 on the price. It was shipped by the US post office for $12 and no duty. www.campmor.com I see now the sale is over though and the price has gone up $70 so I got it just in time.
  7. Hey Jed, I think your confusing those Lund fellers. Your having a spat with LundGUY and the feller in this thread is LundBOY Course I could be wrong too
  8. Was that the episode where Babe was fishing with Spence Petros ?? If so, the underwater footage of the big pike hitting the baits was unbelievable !! Really gives an excellent perspective of how the pike attacks another fish.
  9. The foot control on some PD models have been causing grief for quite a few years now. Another MinnKota repair facility is Aikmens at 3010 Novar Rd. in Mississauga just west of the Hurontario / Dundas intersection. 905-277-3595 They're good to deal with and can often get you fixed up PDQ
  10. Those Virginia tornadoes made the 7:00 AM news on the tube up here this morning too. Unbelievable destruction and good to hear you boyz came out OK.
  11. Awesome pics & good to have ya back bud !!
  12. Sounds like a fabulous trip Rich and it's good to hear you enjoyed the East Coast so much. I spent alot of time out there in the 60's and have been back several times on vacations and you'll never meet nicer, friendlier people anywhere !!
  13. They've been back in service for a couple hours now, I've seen several around town.
  14. Bill, Mike, Hey You.......he knows who I mean Brian
  15. You made some nice choices there Bill, specially with the St. Croix and the Compre rods, they're both excellent. You'll also be extremely happy with that Tekota 600LC. I've been trolling with the same reel for about 3 years now and it's perfect.
  16. Congrats on becoming a boat owner, Hometown, it'll open up a whole new aspect of fishing for you & your family. Take a bit of time to get used to launching and retreiving your boat and you'll get the hang of it in no time as it's really very simple once you've tried it a few times. If your going to be using that boat ramp in the river with the current alot, Gerritt offers some excellent advice about the trailer guides. They don't cost too much and just bolt on your trailer, but make life lots easier if your trying to load the boat in current or strong cross winds. Just basically drive the boat onto the bunks and the guides will do the rest for you.
  17. Good to hear everything's working out well with the new boat Mike and now I'll know what to look for on Quinte in a couple weeks. See ya down there.
  18. Just so nobody gets the wrong impression Ben, that ONE ticket taker that made 100G did it by working many many hours of overtime every week. The base salary of ticket takers is no-where near that. Only my opinion and I haven't used the TTC in 40 years, but if someone wants to put in 30-40 hours overtime a week to make extra $$$$ I say more power to him.
  19. ***Police officers work....firefighters make calenders.......i wanna see Lew on a calender!*** Careful what you wish for Dave, you may not like what you see
  20. Tomorrows session is to talk about legislating them back to work, not declaring them an essential service, but that could be discussed at a later date.
  21. Sonny, I put them all about 5" above the floor and find that works well for me, but you may find something different would suit you better. I keep some stuff on a shelf up under the consol and the one under there is nice too when I'll searching for anything. You'll like the orange as it gives off a decent light without ruining your vision. I'll be on Hay Bay on the long weekend in May and hopefully see you guys out there too.
  22. Sonny, I ran a string of 6 orange clearance lights around the inside of my boat down close to the floor and hooked them permanently to a switch. I know you said you'd prefer temporary, but these only stick out about 1" and never get in the way. In addition to those 6 I also put one up underneath the consol and one in front to give some light in the bow area and you can see that one in the photograph just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. I'm on the water till 10 or 11 almost every night and these orangle lights work perfectly yet they don't interfere with your night vision. I turn them off though when I'm fishing as I'd rather fish in the darkness and then just switch them on when required. I also wear a headlamp incase I need a bit of extra light for fine work, plus it keeps my hands free and also comes in very handy when I'm alone in the boat and trying to land a big fish in total darkness. Hope that helps you some.
  23. Thanks Paul, that's what I figured but wanted to be sure before I made a trip to the store. And RG, I went with a Lowrance X510c to sit beside my Globalmap 7200 and am just looking to clean up some of the wiring under the consol as it looks like a birdsnest under there. Just a bit of house cleaning really.
  24. I've currentely got 2 sonars plus a GPS in my boat and tomorrow I'll be replacing the sonar on the console with a new color unit. Right now I have everything grounded to different connections on the fuse panel under the consol but I think I'll change things around a bit and run the ground for all 3 units to the back of the boat and hook them to the cranking battery. If I remember correctly, the wires from the 3 units is all #16, and I want to join all 3 wires under the consol to a single wire and run that wire to the battery. Total run for the grounding wire from consol to battery will be about 18 - 20 feet, so what size wire would be best to use. I've already got a 25' role of #16, but should I go heavier ??
  25. I've got my fingers crossed for your dad, Dave, and hopefully things will work out for him. Princess Margaret is one of the best cancer facilities anywhere and your dad will be in good hands.
