Like Crazyhook, I also use DOCS & Topraiders alot, but one of my favorites is a 10" jointed Believer cranked slowly along the surface, specially in the evening when everything is starting to quiet down. Favorite color is black with a white belly stripe.

Pike aren't the least bit line shy, or even lure size shy for that matter, and we can't keep the little fools off our 65-80 # Power Pro & 10-12" baits on Nippissing. They're just as much of a nuisance on Quinte trolling for night time pickeral and anybody that says pike don't bite at night hasn't spent enuff time on the water Use whatever the heck you want and you'll catch pike, even when they're the last fish in the world you want in your boat

Thanks jedi, that's a great picture & I always enjoy reading about your "yak" adventures Good luck with the upcoming musky season.

It's a good choice Brian and you'll be happy with Crestliner.

That's an awful lot of water to have in your boat Pete considering it hasn't really rained that much all week. Get it good and dry after you dock it and then keep a close eye on it and see how much is coming in. Sure hope you haven't got a problem with that new boat of yours.

Getting the motor to run straight is an easy fix. Under the skeg and just above the prop, you'll see a small fin that's adjustable to take the torque off your sterring. Just loosen the bolt and turn the fin slightly in the opposite direction the motor is pulling then re-tighten the bold and give it a test drive. Just do it a couple degrees at a time until you get it where you want it.

WTG girl, you'll always remember the 1st one

Mike, I do a bit of work for Honda and have spent a fair bit of time driving both the Odyssee and the CRV and am really impressed with both of them, although I can't really give you any info on the long term results. The Odyssee is unbelievably comfortable with plenty of room for your family, but it sits fairly close to the ground without alot of extra clearance, so I don't know if it'd be suitable for those those rough country roads your using. The CRV sits fairly high off the ground and could probably handle the roads your talking about. It obviously doesn't have nearly the room as the Odyssee but you could still carry a bit of gear along with your family. For a smallish car, it rides extremely smooth and handles like a sports car. My brother bought a new '06 CRV and was very happy with it and it towed his 14' boat with no problems. Either one may be worth your time giving them a 2nd look. .......and no, Honda didn't pay me to say that

Until a couple years ago Quinte was being over-run with cormorants and I remember reading at one point there were an estimated 15,000 birds just on that body of water alone, and alot of the foliage was being destroyed by them. Anytime we were on the water we'd see flocks of them flying around. They did a cull about 3 years ago and got rid of something like 6000 birds and it really seems to have made a difference. We were there last weekend for several days and only saw one small group of birds. Too bad the folks in the western end of Lake O couldn't take a lesson from them.

Best of luck to you Shane, we'll all be pulling for you.

I always find it interesting Pete, that the guys on the TV shows are often pushing products and saying how good they are, yet regular fish'n folks who aren't getting payed to advertise items will often have a totally different opinion on things. Right at the top of your list for Superlines/Braids is Berkely Fireline Crystal. I saw this stuff advertised on the tube awhile back and thought a semi-transparent braid may be worth looking at, yet when I asked here on OFC what everybody thought of it, most of the boyz didn't have anything good to say about it. Same as Berkely Vanish......alot of the TV hosts use this line on their shows and are always saying how great it is, but ask about Vanish here on the board and you'll hardly ever hear anything good said about it, infact most folks will say to stay totally away from it. Charlie Ray for many years pushed Honda outboards as the best thing to hit the fishing world since hooks were invented, but I see now he's using Mercs I spose it all depends on who's hat their wearing at the time the show is made I must admit though, the Calcutta TE is an awesome reel, even though I haven't had a chance to use my new one yet but I've used friends and it's pretty impressive and I'm anxiously waiting for June 7th to arrive

The term hero gets thrown around pretty loosely these days and it's given to everybody from hockey players to movie actors for some strange reason, but to me there's nobody who deserves the classifcation more than Terry Fox......he stands for what the word REALLY means. When he came thru Toronto so many years ago we all went to see him as he ran by only a couple blocks from my home and when he died I remember it like it was this morning. A group of us were standing on the front lawn of my trailer shooting the breeze and it came over the radio and you could practically hear a pin drop as everybody just kinda stood in silence. Canada and all Canadians lost someone VERY special when Terry Fox died.

Probably been 5 years since I last used mono, 'cept for leaders, but I was always happy with Berkely XL. Never had a problem with it and I'd imagine it's still as good today.

Good to hear you finally broke the tarpon skunk Jamie

I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I use 130 # fluoro leaders on all my musky rods and it has nothing to do with invisibility. The fluoro is much easier on the fish when they roll up in the line, plus it doesn't kink up like wire leaders do. Before I switched to Seaguar several years ago, I was using Stringese leaders at about $6 each and would often have to discard the leader due to kinks after even one fish, and on a good day with 6 or 7 muskies and an equal number of leaders ruined, it tends to get rather expensive. Good fluoro leaders will outlast wire 20-1 At least that's my take on things

That tells the whole story right there Great to hear the trip went so well !!
