  4. Some nice fish there, well done .
  5. Very nice work Dara !!
  6. I'm confused, you come on here and your 1st ever post is asking for our opinion of a TV show, and now that you've received alot of responses you don't seem happy with the answers you got
  7. Was there ever any doubt that we'd reach our goal ?? This board always comes thru when one of our own needs a boost. Well done everyone !!!!
  8. Seems like Tigers encounter with a hydrant is the most important event in the world this week cause that's about all any of the news channels are talkin about. Even while I'm typing this they've started another conversation on the radio about it. Maybe it's just me
  9. Thanks for the laff John, funniest thing I've read today
  10. I'm in for $100 and will get the cheque out to you in the morning TJ
  11. F-is-H, musky hooks are big with big barbs and can do lots more damage being pulled back out of the fish than they do when their being driven into the mouth and cutting them is a very common practice. Once the shaft has been cut, the pieces are often very easy to extract. Safer for the fisherman & easier on the fish. Are you sure he wasn't removing the pieces after he cut them as I'd be very surprised if he was leaving them all in the mouth ?? Just my thoughts anyways.
  12. I remember one episode where Charlie Ray was trolling for muskies on St. Clair. As soon a fish hit and he stood up and grabbed the fish'n pole, he said that if it wasn't for his quiet Honda outboard he'd never have been able to sneak up on the fish, and with his stable Crestliner he'd be safe fighting the fish in the big waves, and he was using his Mustads so it wouldn't get off and his Okuma reel would have no trouble reeling the big girl in and the Okuma rod was plenty strong and the Seguar flouro leader was invisible and that's why he hooked the musky and yada yada yada. In the short time it took him to land the fish he'd advertised 6 different products and I'll never forget that episode. I don't even watch that show anymore, it's just brutal
  13. Evidentely this was the 1st November in 75 years or something that we had no snow on the ground in Toronto at all. Last nights few flakes came after midnight. Be nice to see an entire winter with no snow
  14. I saw a trace of that ugly white stuff down in Taylor's Bush this morning Norm. That's more than enuff for me for the winter
  15. There's a farm right across the road from our trailer park north of Peterboro and for years I'd hear them yelping early in the morning before sunrise, then one year they disappeared and I haven't heard them for maybe 10 years now. Still lots of deer & other critters around, so I have no idea why they moved on, but I always enjoyed listening to them in the early hours.
  16. I do watch the show regularily because I fish for muskies almost exclusively, but as others have said, it's becoming nothing more than an infomercial for the baits he's using and that gets pretty boring after awhile. He's darned near as bad as Charlie Ray, but not quite. I did catch Bob's seminar at the Musky Odyssee last April and enjoyed that.
  17. One thing I've found, at least in my neighborhood, is the HD has a lot of staff on duty if you need help with anything and for the most part are quite knowlegable, but the store is extremely busy, the parking lot is always full and the line ups at the checkout can be huge so it can take a long time to do any shopping. On the other hand, the nearby Ronas is practically empty most times with few shoppers, hardly any cars in the lot and no line-ups at the checkout so it makes shopping a breeze and I'm in & out in minutes, but if you need help or have a question, forget about it cause they also have almost no staff working. If you know what you want and where it is, it's great. I wandered around there for 15 minutes a couple weeks ago looking for a salesman in the door section. I've only been in the new Lowes a couple times (Warden & Eglinton in Scarberia) but it seems really nice and hasn't been crowded at all when I was there but maybe alot of folks haven't found it yet. Nice to have all 3 to choose from though.
  18. Very nice and congrats on the new ride !!
  19. I've got a Home Depot & Ronas equal distance from me and have always preferred Ronas, but now a Lowes has opened a branch right behind Ronas. I just finished hanging 11 sheets of drywall and called all 3 stores the other day for a price on the drywall plus delivery and all were approximately $12 a sheet. Ronas & HD wanted $60 for delivery & Lowes wanted $75 to deliver the same load. I went to the local Home Hardware lumber yard and got the sheets for only $10 and they delivered them the next day for $50 I saved $32 over Ronas & HD and $47 over Lowes. Maybe give your local lumber yard another call
  20. I was a hard working union member for more than 30 years but seldom get involved in these union threads because they never resolve anything, but your comment was one of the most un-informed and ignorant things I've read here in awhile.
  21. All the best my friend & here's to a speedy recovery.
  22. Funny how everyone says that eh ?? Just kidding bud, that's a beautiful lookin pike !!
  23. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Bernie, some nice old machines there !! Back in the early 80"s my 2 buds & myself decided to get into snowmobiling and went out and bought 3 old junkers, but boy, did we have some laffs on those things. I had a Ski Doo Silver Bullet, one bud had an Evinrude and the other bud had a Suzuki. Don't know what years they were but they all ran half decent and we had a blast on them. We ran them for 2 years then we all bought new machines, but then with the fancy new rides, the wives all decided they wanted in on the action too, so we all had to buy more new ones for them I think we each paid about $100 for the clunkers but it made for a couple fun winters on those machines that we still laff about all the time.
  24. Jacque, give Shimano a call at their head office in Peterboro, 705-745-3232 and explain the situation to them personally, rather than an email. Their great folks to deal with and I've never had a problem with them before, infact I don't recall ever hearing of anyone getting a hassle from them. Maybe you just had the wrong person reading your email
  25. You got that right Wayne, I bought a new Dodge Dakota pick-up in 2001 and in the next 3 years they replaced the multi switch 4 different times under warranty. I told them to stop replacing the stupid thing and figure out what's causing all the problems with it but they basically said it's easier to throw them out and stick a new one in again. I got so fed up with taking it back in for repairs so many times on the same thing I sold it as soon as the warranty ran out.
