  1. Lookin real good Brian !!
  2. Very sorry to hear the news Pete. I know Ben's been feeling rough for awile now and you said yourself it was only a matter of time, although that doesn't make it any easier. He was a great friend to you and your family for along time and your gonna have lotsa fond memories for many years. Condolances from myself, Diane, Sheri and Marvin.
  3. Thanks Johnny, that made for a great early morning read. Sounds like a great trip.
  4. This is somewhat similar... I purchased a new boat back in '99 and payed cash for the full price including all taxes. Couple years later I got a letter from the provincial government saying they needed proof that I'd payed the sales tax and and to send them a copy of the bill of sale, which I did. Two years after that I get yet another letter again telling me to send a copy of the bill of sale to prove I payed my tax. I figured they musta lost the 1st one so I obliged and sent in a 2nd copy. Sure enough, a couple years further down the road I get a 3rd letter from these dimwits telling me they needed proof I'd payed them their taxes. I totally ignored the 3rd letter and haven't heard anything back from them....yet, although I still have the original bill of sale just in case. Dealing with these govenment clowns can be one of the most frustrating things we ever have to do in our day to day living.
  5. Thanks for the tour Craig, that kinda stuff is always interesting to see.
  6. With the exception of Rice Lake, most of the waterways from Lakefield south to Trenton get quite narrow and with the huge volume of water flowing south the levels are high and the currents very strong in places. Lots more rain expected today so I don't spose that's gonna help much either.
  7. I find it kinda strange that every post you've made since joining this board has been about Pete Maina. But maybe that's just me.
  8. Atta boy Aaron, that's a true trophy for sure.
  9. And while their in the fish'n store for the Suicks, they should pick up some big azz spinner baits too Roy
  10. Little dink pickeral can be pretty dumb too Wayne
  11. Yup, it's hard to keep those big pesky bass away from your baits sometimes.
  12. If your missing every big fish Darren, I'd suspect your using very dull hooks before I'd think about the rest of your gear. As for the PP, I'd stick with that.
  13. Sad news Will and very sorry to hear it. Condolances from one who knows how your feeling.
  14. Thanks Pete, that was hilarious and at least a couple names came to mind
  15. The West Arm muskies are very partial to black & orange Jer, both bucktails & spinnerbaits, and use the biggest ones you can.
  16. Shimano Compre matched up with a Tekota 600LC works well for me.
  17. Nice ride Brian and all the best in your new venture. Your a pretty sharp dood though and no doubt you'll do very well.
  18. Happy Belated B-Day Joey, hope it was a goodun !!
  19. Your gonna be very happy you went with the Line-X Dutch, it's an excellent product. When I was negotiating for my F-150 last year I had them throw it in as a freebie and am really impressed with it. I'm constantly hauling lumber, dirt, sod, patio stones, gravel, bricks and whatever else and there's not a mark on it. I just sweep it out, rinse it with the hose and it's like new again. Like you say, it's a cheap investment to protect the truck.
  20. If anyones interested in an inexpensive way of keeping track of the hours on your motor and you don't already have an hourmeter on your boat, you can pick up one of these from most boat dealers. It just velcro's to any convenient spot on your motor under the cowling Then run the wire back and wrap it around one of your spark plug wires. Makes a nice neat installation and is actually quite acurrate. I've checked it out several times before and after a long day of trolling and it's right on.
  21. I always considered myself one of the lucky ones cause even as a young boy I knew I only wanted 2 jobs. One was a sailor & the other was a fireman and I was fortunate to spend my life doing both. I signed up for the Navy the same day JFK was murdered and enjoyed it as much as I knew I would. I spent the next few years cruising the ocean between Trinidad & Norway and everywhere in between. When I completed my Navy hitch I returned home to Toronto and put my name in for the Fire Dept. Took nearly a year to get on but once I started it was the job of a lifetime and I spent more than 32 years there. It was a wonderful, rewarding life and I retired at 53 years old satisfied that I'd done exactly what I wanted to do and no man can ask for more than that.
  22. Well done, I watched it at 6:00 this morning and it was a really good episode. Alot of todays fishing shows could take a lesson from Lunkerville.
  23. Your fishing tales are always fantastic Mike and I'm already looking forward to reading this one. Good luck & have a great trip.
  24. Huge difference from last summer Kevin and hopefully the levels stay up....well maybe not quite over your docks See you guys in August !!
