    Bait making

I don't build baits Roy, but I'll sometimes repaint them if I don't find the original colors working the way I want. Here's a few I've repainted but there's nothing fancy, but then again, I've never found muskies to be too fussy when their hungry You can also see the black spots on top of some of the baits where I've removed the rattles and epoxyed over the holes. BumbleBee Double "D" in the bottom pic turned out to be one of my best producers, so it's often worth re-doing a bait if it's not working.
  2. Skipper, I've got a spare transducer & cable your welcome to if it'll fit your sonar. It's off a Lowrance X-510C and the tag on the cable says HST-WSBL wide angle. If it's compatible with your unit, and all you need is the transducer and cable, lemme know.
  3. When I made this reply to Brian it was just in response to an inside joke between us.
  4. Good to hear the day went so well for you guys Skipper. Can't beat a day on the water with your brother !!

    Bait making

You've always made good baits Roy and I'm still running the ones you made several years ago.
  6. If the bullet holes are only in one elevator, that'll be one of Scarberia's better buildings
  7. Did you forget your leaders again Brian ??
  8. .
  9. I know how I'd be voting Roy
  10. My wife has been called up twice and selected once. It was a 3 day trial and they stayed in a downtown Toronto hotel at night. She found it interesting and like you, figured she'd done her part as a good citizen. I'd sure hate to get stuck on some loooong trial, specially during the summer months.
  11. Atta boy Paul, I see you've been paying attention in class
  12. Ice fishing isn't boring at all, it's right up there with watching 5 pin bowling on the TV
  13. To remove the rattles, drill a couple holes in the top of the bait about 1/3 back from the nose and they'll just roll out when you turn it over. Cover the holes with a piece of aluminum tape, then a coat of 5 minute epoxy and when it's dry paint it with a suitable paint. You can also just drill a small hole and squirt in some white carpenters glue. It'll coat the steel BB's and eliminate the sound. You don't need to be fancy cause the muskies don't care.
  14. Biggest bait I troll successfully with are 13" Believers Mike. I remove the rattles though, as I do on most of my plastic trolling baits, and find that improves the catch rate on them.
  15. Sorry Mike, can't help you with that
  16. Just curious Mike, but isn't the one I mentioned exactly what your looking for ?? 16 foot Princecraft, full windshield, stand-up top included... Or maybe I'm just being too nosey
  17. This ones at Hastings Marine Mike and looks like exactly what your after although it's slightly more HP than you want, but not by much. I just spoke to the salesman and he said it came in on a trade this week and is very nice. Call Rob in Sales. http://www.hastingsmarine.com/showcaseproductdetail.htm?ID=232587&Used=1
  18. Have a great day Skipper, looks like you've got the weather for it
  19. Looks like a fun day Mike !!
  20. I get mine from the same guy as Jer, really excellent wood too.
  21. Good to hear you got the truck stopped safely anyways Mike, that coulda been alot worse. Don't worry about missing out on the fatties though, we'll get them in a couple weeks
  22. Great minds think alike eh Brian ??
  23. I must admit to cheating just a little bit CPH. To get the wood from the end of the driveway back to the wood storage tent 100' away, I use an old tractor and trailer. But other than that, there's plenty of good, hard slogging involved
  24. I stacked a couple cords of hard wood a few weeks back and when my wife said I was working too hard and should take a break, I told her I don't think of it as work, but more as an enjoyable type of exercise. I've always enjoyed hard physical work and hauling wood is just one more thing to do outside. Guess it's all in the perspective.
  25. My 2010 F-150 was manufactured in Deerbourne (sp) Michigan, has tire pressure sending units and came equipped with nitrogen filled tires. Different specs for different countries I spose As for the air compressors mentioned by Jer, I always have 2 in my truck and have extended the power cord by about 25' so I can reach the trailer wheels if needed.
