  1. Sorry to hear about your set-back and hopefully they get everything straightened out soon.
  2. There's been a few reports lately where Canucks have bought boats & motors in the States but then have had problems with warranties on the motors up here. Just something to check into if your bringing a motor across the border.
  3. With scenery like that, it'd still be a great day even if you skunked Really a beautiful place !!
  4. My last boat was a Crestliner FishHawk and it was excellent in every way. I drove it for about 8 years with no issues and I'd definetely agree Crestliner would be worth looking at.
  5. Nothing better than to have a vehicle with winter tires that can get you where you want to go, and nothing worse that getting stuck behind some guy who was too lazy or too cheap to install winter tires and you have to plod along behind him because he can't go anywhere.
  6. Wonder how quietly I can sneak up behind him with the scissors
  7. Not much else to do until the lakes thaw Skip
  8. As we speak, this nice buck is still standing in my back yard. He's a good size with a nice set of antlers, although their not too big. Always enjoy seeing the critters wandering around the neighborhood.
  9. jeeeez, those catfish are massive !!!!
  10. There's been several families of Bald Eagles around here for a few years now and it's really nice to see them taking up residence. I got these pics of 2 of them a couple years ago just a few miles from here. Always nice to see the Pileated Woodpeckers too, their another beautiful bird and there's 3 that hang around here all the time. I had all 3 of them in the tree outside the front window in the summer but didn't get the camera in time. There's also alot of robins spending the winter here too, infact just 2 weeks ago I counted 30 on my front lawn around the feeder.
  11. Yup, I'm aware of that Jer, I was just putting it up for anyone heading there and not familiar with the area.
  12. I drove over the Causeway yesterday afternoon and saw a few folks fishing the west side of Chemong, south of the there but they were fairly close to shore. There's still open water at the east end of the Causeway on the north side.
  13. I ran a pair of 12 volt batteries in parallel on my last boat for years Rob and it definetely gives you a much longer running time, but you'll thank yourself if you upgrade to a 24 volt system and even go with a larger motor. More $$$$ up-front but well worth the expense.
  14. Lotsa great fish pictures as always MB, but this one looks like your releasing a darned crocodile
  15. I've only seen a few deer in the yard sofar this winter Roy but there's plenty of tracks around. Probably see more once the snow gets deeper.
  16. Thanks for the morning smile Roy, it's always nice to see the critters come out for a visit !! I had 4 robins at the feeder yesterday, a bald eagle overhead and a pileated woodpecker on the tree.
  17. Great vacation with alot of excellent fish, specially that brute your girlfriend landed !!
  18. I've been using the BPS un-insulated GORTEX jacket & bibs for about 5 years now and it's excellent, although I can't remember what model it is. Nice & light for summer use but I got a size too large and throw on a sweater when the weather gets nasty. No complaints whatsoever.
  19. Nope, once the government deems you old, they give you a freebie.
  20. All the best to you in 2012 Skip !!
  21. My wife of 45 years and myself live a wonderful life and I don't want anything to change, therefore, no need for resolutions for me
  22. Hey Joey, you forgot your PB paddle
  23. And a Happy New Years to you too Bruce !!
  24. There was a time Bill when that wasn't such a big deal as long as everyone was behaving themselves. Probably 25 years ago myself & 2 buds were heading out for a day of fishing in the Kawarthas in my boat and we had a cooler with samiches and 6 beer when we got stopped by the police boat. They asked for all the usual safety gear and when he was satisfied with that he asked me what I had in the cooler. I told him straight up about the beer and his answer was "thank you gentlemen and have a good day of fishing" Everyone was sober and behaving themselves and he could see that. Wouldn't want to try that today though.
  25. I've also got a 6500 watt Cliff and it certainly is reassuring to know it's there when needed, specially in these cold temps. We lost power last spring for 50 hours but with the generator it had almost no impact on us. Also nice having the wood stove going and even with these -19 temps last night, the furnace hardly came on at all.
