  1. Sometimes it feels good to be called a quitter
  2. Hope your gonna post the story of the re-build along with plenty of pictures as you progress Skip. It's always interesting to follow those sorta things.
  3. Thanks for the great read Dave, gotta love softwater reports for January.
  4. Well done Ernie, sure does feel good eh !!!! 21 years away from those filthy things for me now.
  5. I've got "lift assist" on my Fortrex and it makes stowing and deploying the motor is unbelievably easy and I'm assuming the Maxxum uses the same technology ??
  6. My son enjoyed bungee jumping, but then again he was also a fan of jumping out of perfectly good airplanes too. Sure didn't get any of those traits from me though
  7. Sometimes it's not worth the hassle of returning inexpensive items, but for $150 I'd sure be making the trip, but that's just me I spose.
  8. Well done Dave, some real beauts there for sure !!!!
  9. It's all a personal choice Rob depending on the type of fishing you do. I've always preferred cable steer myself, infact when I bought my current boat it came with a Terrova but I had the dealer replace it with a Fortrex. I've always found cable to be more direct and faster, plus your not using your battery power to operate it. PD on the other hand allows you to operate it from anywhere in the boat, but they seem to always develope problems in the circuit board.
  10. If that kid ever leans his gun against a tree he'll never find it again
  11. Sorry to hear about Dianes set-back Kelvin but still got my fingers crossed for a full & speedy recovery.
  12. Just checked the flyer for my local CTC in Peterboro and it says your hut was available as of this past Friday, but who knows now Maybe worth a call.......705-745-1388
  13. It's OK Brian, I know what your trying to say, and I'll forgive you....just this one time
  14. Same with me too Wayne, I've always payed the extra up front for the 3 year license and then don't have to worry about it for awhile. Fortunately though, I no longer have to worry about it at all anymore
  15. Thanks Rich, I was never sure about that.
  16. When do the deer lose their antlers Bob ?? I had a buck in the back yard a few days back and my wife asked me when, but I have no idea
  17. No experience with Abu's but am very satisfied with all my Compres. It's also nice that I'm only 20 minutes from the P'Boro repair shop too whenever the need arises.
  18. That actually happened to a fella I used to work with Dan. He bought a house trailer with a weight distribution hitch but never asked anyone how to set it up properly. He hauled it to Vancouver for a vacation and had to replace the front tires on his car when he got there. He said the steering felt funny all the way across the country but he never thought to ask anyone why
  19. Just for your own peace of mind Rob, why not just replace everything with new and then you'll know for sure that it's all good. Nothing worse than always having that nagging feeling that something may not be just the way it's sposed to be. If you can't do it yourself or don't have the space, you could always take it to a reputable shop before the season starts and have it done. Might cost a few $$$$ but at least you'll know your good for the hiway.
  20. No way that kinda crap should be happening Darren, sure hope they get you fixed up soon.
  21. Exactly why I said above that the OP may have a problem with his insurance company if he overloads his tow vehicle.
  22. Then you can be sure you won't need to buy another charger for your boat for a very long time Roy.
  23. If it was me Roy, then your welcome I think mine was model 2611, a really excellent charger.
  24. Guest is an excellent charger Roy, I put one in my last boat in '99 and it's still going strong.
  25. First thing that came to my mind was what happens with your insurance coverage if you have an accident while your towing a 2600 pound boat with a vehicle rated to tow 1500 pounds. Just a thought...
