  1. We celebrated our 45th anniversay 2 months ago Bob, and last Christmas I bought my bride a new set of wedding rings, so I think I'm good now for a few more decades
  2. Here's a different but somewhat similar scenario The Canadian version of Antiques Roadshow was filming an episode in Toronto a few years back and my next door neighbor took an old painting of his down for an appraisal. I forget exactly but it was said to be worth something like $10,000 After the show he put it in the trunk of his car but when he got home it was pouring rain so he left the painting in the trunk so it wouldn't get wet. He woke in the morning to find the trunk open and the painting gone and figures someone from the show followed him home and stole it when he went in the house.
  3. Keep up the good fight Richard and all the best to you & your family in the New Year

  5. Atta boy Roger, hope you beat the biggun from your last trip.
  6. I've heard a couple times recentely that we're sposed to be having a cold, snowy winter so maybe this is just the "calm before the storm"
  7. Yup, I just got the same message. Hope it's not gone for good, that's a nice forum over there.
  8. Jeeez, I'm 1/2 way between Selwyn and the landing zone, maybe I better go out & check for holes in my roof

Not to worry guys, as I said at the top I ONLY use cash, no matter whether I'm buying or selling anything. I've just never used Paypal before and didn't know how it worked on these types of transactions.

Geoff, in your 1st reply, do I understand that both the buyer and seller would have a paypal account and the buyer would transfer the money into the sellers account ??

    Paypal ????

Thanks guys, it'll definetely be a cash deal for me. I know people use it to purchase items from stores but I'm old fashioned and like the feel of the $$$$ in my mitt before I hand over the merchandise.
  20. I always deal in cash and although I've heard of Paypal I don't know how it works. I have an item listed for sale on kijiji and a possible buyer wants to pay me with Paypal and then arrange for someone to pickup it up.....doesn't sound good to me. I told him it has to be a cash deal only but I'm just curious how this works and is it actually legit How does a person get their money ?? Anybody deal this way ??
  21. Thanks again everyone
  22. The hurting never stops Brian, but it does get easier over the years. As for the jokes, their always welcome

  24. Gerritt, I also remember very vividly the day you also lost your son and as with Jim, it's hard to believe so many years have passed since that terrible day for you & yours.
  25. Thanks for all the kind replies folks, they mean alot to both myself and my wife. Joey & Phil, it was an honour having you both at the funeral and Spiel, your yearly condolance messages have always been much appreciated. Jim was an excellent fisherman, specially bass & pickeral, and if he was here today he'd definetely be a member of this board and would be proud to call you folks his friends.
