  1. Sorry Trouty, we were both posting at the same time. The boats only 3 years old and the wires don't seem to be the least bit brittle, but that was a good point.
  2. Ernie, there's no actual diagram for the fuse panel but everything is clearly marked on the fuse block including the fuse for the horn. I've checked them all earlier incase the relay is seperate but I'm gonna check them again. Roy, the key doesn't need to be on but there's a seperate master switch on the dash but I had it in the correct position. And Rob, yes I've tried with both the new & old switches. It's no wonder auto mechanics are so well paid
  3. I hooked a battery directly to the horn and it works fine. I've been under the dash for an hour checking connections and they all seem to be tight and I've re-checked the fuses and everything appears good. This is really bizarre because as I said above the only thing I did was take the wires off the back of the old switch and put them on the back of the new switch. The entire job only took a couple minutes.
  4. All good suggestions guys and thanks, but all connections are clean and tight and I've already tried all your ideas. Actually I never even came close to any of the connections other than the ones right at the switch. I tried your suggestion too Spiel and connected the 2 wires to each other but still nada. If I didn't know better I'd think somehow I blew a fuse but it checks out OK and I've already tried different fuses there. Oh well, I spose if anyone gets in my way this summer I'll just have to scream at them or blow my whistle Thanks anyhoo boyz.
  5. The horn button for my boat is a knob that you twist to the right to activate, which is something I don't like. I decided to change it to a push button The original has the clips that push onto the back of the switch The new push button has the screws that you wrap the wires around and tighten down Before I did anything this morning I tested the horn and it worked fine. I then cut the clips from the original switch, and installed the wires on the screws on the new switch and the horn wouldn't work. I then switched the wires around and it still wouldn't work. I then put new clips on the wires and put them back on the original switch and now that doesn't work either. The power switch is on and the fuse is fine, infact I even tried a new fuse and still nothing. If it matters, both wires are orange & white. Any thoughts ??
  6. Bottom line is, no matter how many years we've been backing up trailers, or how good we are at it, we were ALL novices at one time and we ALL had to learn. If your at a boat ramp and see someone struggling to back up his trailer and they seem confused by the process, maybe go over and offer them some advice or a helping hand. I've done it more than a few times and they all seemed to appreciate the assist.
  7. My Skeeter came equipped with seats made by Springfield Marine and are known as Air-Adjustable. They basically ride on a cushion of air and are very comfortable in rough water and take out all the harsh bangs associated with pounding the waves. Very nice in rough water when you feel the seat more or less floating under you. They can be adjusted up and down as much as 6" and also have sliders built into the mount so the seats can move front to back about 6" also.
  8. I've got a camera in the tailgate of my truck that makes it darned near impossible not to hit the hitch perfectly every time. Removes all un-necessary thinking
  9. I'll be on the West Arm for 2 or 3 weeks again this year as usual and sure hope we don't have low water like we had 2 years ago. That was brutal to say the least.

    G3 boats?

Always enjoy your reviews Craig, very interesting and informative for anyone in the new boat market.
  11. It's easy to do Boss.
  12. Sorry to hear that news, it's always sad when we lose a beloved pet.
  13. I never really spent alot of time at BPS, maybe 1/2 dozen times or so over the years. My wife enjoys wandering around the mall so we'd usually go up at Christmas, do BPS, the Mall and then have lunch and head home. I always enjoyed my trips there and can honestly say I never really had a bad experience. 99% of my musky gear comes from JB's so I never really bought any fishing stuff at BPS but I bought some camping gear there and a couple rain suits. I like the store and enjoy wandering around but haven't been there in a year or so but will maybe make the trip down there again someday.
  14. I decided last year it was time to start wearing an inflatible and wanted the best I could find and after alot of research I came up with this Mustang. I'll be wearing it all the time now. http://www.mustangsurvival.com/recreational/hit%E2%84%A2-inflatable-pfd?division=recreation
  15. Thanks MB, another epic read. The quality of your pictures is always amazing, so darned clear and sharp I always feel as if I'm actually there.
  16. Sweet little pup you got there Bruce. He'll never replace your last little buddy but you'll probably become as close as you were with with the new one.
  17. Good to hear they finally did the sensible thing and tossed the charges, just too bad you had to waste your's & the courts time. Far as I'm concerned the nitwit copper that charged you in the 1st place should have to reimburse you for all your trouble.
  18. My Skeeter/Yamaha came factory equipped with a seperator so they seem to think their a good idea.
  19. Thanks for the info NAW, that's interesting. I've been retired 12 years now and wasn't aware of that sorta thing and honestly don't agree with it, but I spose that's a topic for another day. We already pay a fee when transported by ambulance, now were gonna pay for a fire truck so I guess next we'll also pay for the police to be there too. Kinda makes me wonder what we're paying taxes for
  20. We've still got some snow and ice in the shady parts Phil, but it's going VERY fast. Trouble is the lawns are like gigantic wet sponges.
  21. I worked in emergency services for many years and saw alot of bad stuff happen because of lack of smarts, but I don't ever recall an incident where folks were charged because we responded. I'm certainly not defending these guys, I just don't see how they can legally be charged with anything, but then again, I'm not a lawyer.
  22. I really don't see how they could be charged with anything . Is there an actual law that says they can't go on the ice, or did they disobey an order from police ?? I'm not being a smart azz, but although what they did was totally reckless and maybe even stupid, I believe it was still totally legal. Or did I miss something ??
  23. I saw a huge flock of a couple hundred geese heading north yesterday, the robins are in the trees, I took off my winter wheels this morning and put on the summer chrome and now the 1st flower of the season has arrived Life is good...
  24. Clear Lake in the Kawarthas is still covered but the neighbors dog went thru the ice this morning near shore so it would appear it won't be too much longer till ice out. The pooch got out OK.
  25. I find it really interesting how many guys have made similar comments here over the years.
