  1. Try 8" fluoro for jerkbait leaders and you'll get far better action on your baits.
  2. Putting 500 hours a year on your motor is another excellent reason for going with the new one Mike. And this is just a thought, but could you possibly use the new motor as some sort of tax deduction seeing as you use it for your guiding business
  3. I'll probably be passing on the g2g this year, but a few of us are going up for a couple weeks in August.
  4. If it was me Mike, I'd be buying the new Yamaha rather that putting a whole whack of $$$$ into the 12 year old Honda.
  5. Wouldn't happen to be a Legend Tournament would it Pete ?? Leaders look good.
  6. I'll recommend the Yamaha too Mike.
  7. I find all Stringeze products to be top quality, at least in my experience anyways.
  8. But he's still a heck of a nice guy Chris
  9. I sometimes watch Breakfast Television from Toronto for the news in the morning and tuned into the show a few minutes ago. Turns out their doing an outdoor broadcast from Lake Rosseau in Muskoka today and they've got a bunch of the locals there and everyone is sitting around a big roaring bonfire. You'd think at least one person would have heard about the fireban, specially those working for a large news channel
  10. If someone is looking to buy either a boat or a truck to pull it and their concerned about how much $$$$ they'll spend on gas, then I think their looking at the wrong vehicles. But that's just my opinion.
  11. I use the same ones as Drifter and their excellent.
  12. Poodles are better than mice or kittens, and if you can hook them thru the sweater it saves messing around with cedar planks.

    More bears

We often have bears roaming around here at night and I've had them in both the front and back yards several times. I looked out front this morning and found my bird feeder pulled down and it would appear Mr. Bruin had a small feast on the seed overnight. The green tubing is ABS but it sits overtop of a metal pole driven into the ground that is now bent about 50 degrees.
  14. My Dad was in the Navy for 5 years during the war and when they were at sea powdered eggs were all they had. He said they were the most foul (fowl) tasting thing he ever ate and still talked about them decades later I'm sure the technology is somewhat better today.
  15. Good to hear Ron and I've always had good service from them too. Where about's are they located now ??
  16. They've always been great folks to deal with Jer.
  17. I tell myself that every day of the week Joey
  18. I'll bet we've got members here wondering what the heck a record is
  19. I had a custom Sunbrella cover on my last boat and it's still going strong after a decade of sitting at the dock in the sun. My current boat has a TopGun and it's also excellent. As Will mentioned though, whichever you go with be sure to have air vents sewn into it.
  20. It'll be 5 years this coming Friday that my only brother died from this horrible disease. He posted on this board as eddyk I'll be sending a donation again this year too Ryan.
  21. It's never a waste of money if you have a good day on the water, catching or not. Some of my best days fishing have resulted in skunks. It's all about the fishing, not about the catching
  22. Here's a bit of reading I found on GOOGLE http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=boyd%20island%20housing%20development%2C%20pigeon%20lake%2C%20ontario&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CFcQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Foakvillehomes.wordpress.com%2F2010%2F08%2F28%2Fmattamy-looking-at-developing-pigeon-lake%2F&ei=S7SzT4vpMYTa6gH0jtWZAw&usg=AFQjCNGiak0IhuagrVuqKO2baAoauIB_pg
  23. I've told the story here before but I once had follows by 3 different fish over the course of a day but none would take the bait. I went back after dark and retraced my steps and caught all 3 of them. Love it when a plan comes together
  24. You could use pretty well any reel for trolling but if your pulling huge baits there's ALOT of strain put on them. I use TE's myself for casting but use dedicated Tekota 600 linecounters for trolling....proper tool for the job kinda thing. But that's just me.
  25. I'm another one that has been fishing around Big Island for many years and would hate to see it developed. It's kind of like a small oasis in the middle of some busy waters.
