  1. Thanks for posting this! I spent about a half hour checking my phone settings. Man I was getting pissed at my lack of knowledge of the phone settings. Thank! You saved some of what little hair I have left. LOL Dan.
  2. Just a phone call away. Dan.
  3. Yup! The KISS method is usually the best. Keep It Simple Sir. (KISS) Dan.
  4. If they don't let me know and provide all measurements and description of what is needed and I'll go down in person and talk to them. My shop's phone # is 519-681-3844 (D&S Auto) call if you'd like any help with this. I'm the owner of the shop and at times, it's good to be the boss. I don't need permission to leave the shop if I want too. LOL As long as the wife doesn't find out!!! Oh Crap! LOL Dan.
  5. Oh man, I know what you mean. I saw it leave, I heard it hit the floor and now it's gone. Reminds me of my days rebuilding carburetors. A check ball spring decides to take off before you get it pinned; just forget about it; it's gone never to be seen again. LOL Dan.
  6. When I did my bunks, I started with 2X6 pressure treated planks. Made a trough out of a poly tarp that would fit the planks. Put the planks in the trough and then poured enough Thompson's water seal to cover the planks. Let it soak for a week or better; then took the planks out and let them air/sun dry. (Salvaged the remaining Thompsons and used it on my back yard deck.) Once the planks were dry to the touch, I then wrapped them in a fairly plush indoor/outdoor carpet, securing them with galvanized staples. Once the planks were fitted to the trailer, I soaked the carpet with a silicon lubricant. Slipperier then goose crap! Lets just say I never undid the trailer's bow safety chain until the boat was floating at the launch. One of the member's here bought the boat & trailer from me; maybe he'll chime in to tell us how they lasted? Dan.
  7. By then there will be a completely different set of rules for us to try and figure out! Dan.
  8. I just call Parker Plastics here in London. With the little info I was able to give the guy; he thinks they can fabricate the windshield for you? I've dealt with these people before and they are very easy to work with. Parker Plastics Their location is not that far from me and my shop. If there's anything I can help with this; all you need to do is ask. Dan.
  9. Could you try molding the windshield yourself?
  10. Two Years ago I had the chance to fish the west cost of BC; stayed at Duncanby Lodge. Duncanby Lodge What a rush it was. We arrived at about 2pm, given a room and our fishing gear. Rubber boots, rain paints, coat and lifejacket. We were on one of the many guided boats; with the riggers set up by 3. Fished till 6, then came in for an orientation/greeting supper. Next morning at day break we were back out, fished for 4 hours, lunch and then back out till 6 again. Trolling in approx 100FOW. 35-60 feet down; depending what area and the guide's suggestions. Dragged mostly spoons and body baits. Were were allowed 4 kings in our possession for take home. Once you had your 4 fish you were done fishing salmon; not even catch and release after you got your possession limit. Not sure if that was a provincial law or Duncanby's policy? Our guide said they didn't want to have to release a mortally injured king. The Duncanby owner and his stall were very knowledgeable and conservation minded. The one thing that they did to promote catch and release was to offer a hand carved reel to anyone that caught a "Tyee" (A 30lb + King/Coco) and live release it. Jay one of the guy's in our boat got a 32lb and I can see why they want those big fish allowed to swim free. The one's I landed ranged from 18 to 25lbs and what an amazing fight. Using barbless hooks meant that if you gave the fish a moment of slack; it was gone! Guess how I know that to be a fact. LOL I had a pile of other pictures showing the different baits that were used, along with the rock fish and and ling that we had caught; but something happed to my point and shoot and I cannot download them off the camera? Shame because I had videoed the Tyee's release from above and below the water. Once the fish was revived, it took off like it was shot out of a cannon. Dan.
  11. You are a northern redneck for sure; but with a different edge. You know what the (#*^%) you’re doing. I’m not a big Mopar guy ; but that pic sure does show the icing on the cake. What an amazing display of Chrysler’s glory days. Dan
  12. Man you're good at finding links to things! Good on you and good for us! Dan.
  13. That snow streamer blew through here in London about a 1/2 an hour ago. Couldn't see two car lengths in front of me; now it's clearing up and no sign of the snow that fell? Just like that old Tea commercial; ONLY IN CANADA EH! Dan.
  14. Not sure if this will help; but here’s a link to Eddie Wortham the general manager. LinkedIn Dan
  15. I will not go any further with this Brian. I'll agree to respectfully disagree with you on this. Be well and I'll look forward to reading your reports and your humor. Dan.
  16. Sorry Brian and I can understand an employee's dislike being watched or on camera; but an employer has the right to know what's going on. What's the issue, if you're doing the assigned job who gives a rat's ass if you're being recorded? If anything it'll let the employer know he has a good employee. Dan. PS: Yes I have video cameras at my shop. Some outside, some in the office and some in the work area. Not so much to "SPY" on my guys; but to have a record on video, with time, date and hopefully a face for the cops to get the piece of crap that broke into my shop.
  17. Whatever guys. When I'm paying my guys to perform certain jobs; I have the right to know what the hell they're doing. Sorry I replied to this thread; I'm not a control freak, I just want to know what my guys are doing. If that is wrong tell me the difference between me correcting them at the shop or when they are away from the shop??I'm somewhat confused at the replies; what's wrong with keeping an eye on my employees? It's not just keeping tabs on the guys; it's also to see if they need help! Sorry my other post sounded like I was a peeping Tom; it's not what I meant to say. Dan.
  18. I like the "vehicle locate" feature that my Silverado has; it's live tracking of the truck. When I send one of the guys out on a service call or to go pick up parts; I can see where they are. I now can can ask them why they were sitting at such & such street corner for so long. Was there construction, an accident or does Timmies at that corner have anything to do with it? I don't care that they stopped to grab a coffee or whatever; I just like the look I get from them when I ask. LOL Dan.
  19. Like I said; the majority elected them in. Is it right; I didn't say that. Maybe it's time we all took a longer look at who we're allowing to make these decisions for us? Put all of todays elected officials in a bag; give the bag a good shake and we still wouldn't know who to pull out. Dan.
  20. Been there done that! When I do end up in a restaurant for a brekkie and can't read the menu, I fall back on my go to meal. Steak & eggs!!!! Medium on the steak and over-easy for the eggs. Even if the steak is tough, it's usually thin enough that it can be chewed through. LOL And I only have half my teeth!!!LOL Dan.
  21. Isn't that called a democracy? Or would you rather a dictatorship where you would have no say? Dan.
  22. When the deciding powers of both our nations agree that it is OK. We voted these people in didn't we? Besides I also vote on the side of caution; not on the side of monetary expense being lost from loss of use. People who have bought out of their Country must abide by that (OTHER) Countries decision as to what's allowed. This whole thing has changed the "norm" lets deal with it calmly and smartly; we'll all be happier in the end. Dan.
  23. All I can say is, I'll stay on my side of the fence and you stay on yours. Once this whatever you want to call it is under control; we all can be friends again and enjoy each others company. Dan
  24. This has bugged me for years. As most here know, I'm in the automotive repair business. We are under a microscope as to what pollutants we generate during a vehicle's repair and how we dispose of; which I agree with and adhere too. We all need to clean up are act; but it feels redundant when I see a film company burning, blowing up crap up; just for entertainment satisfaction. I have paid out thousands of dollars to comply with environmental guide lines. Other small businesses have had to close due to these costs. Body shops for example; many of the small one man shops had to close. To stay in business they had to switch from oil based paints to water based. Had to install air scrubbers that are very costly; so much so it was out of the reach of many of these small shops. The show that irritated (although entertaining) was Myth Busters. They blew up, burnt up and released so many emissions, during their 20 seasons is un measurable. It was mostly filmed in and around San Francisco. California has one of the most stringent regulations in the world on emitting emissions; but this show was OK for almost 20 years? Stepping of soap box now. Dan.
  25. What I've been listening to are the local AM "all news" radio stations. Yes boring as hell most times; but you also hear what I believe is more truth than any other form of media. They don't seem to have the same competition as others do and don't glorify/embellish their reports. Most times they (if at all possible) will have a spokesperson for wherever/whoever the news story originates from. Give them a try, just don't blame me, if you fall asleep between reports. LOL Dan.
