  1. I dont get how anybody can fall for the kijiji scams... They are soooo obvious!! I ran into a few when shopping for a truck, and another few while looking at bass boats. I imagine there is hundreds if not thousands on there!
  2. I guess its personal preference, all i use now is PP and im not even a fan of the slick 8. Ive used it several times and it fades and deteriorates very quickly. I have a couple reels spooled with 40lb pp and theyre still great shape after 2 seasons of hard fishing in really thick stuff.
  3. I would just go with the trusty original moss green power pro. I have tried pretty much every other one and i always say to myself "what a waste of $" never did try the seaguar tho! Lol
  4. I imagine u would have to be completely polluted to be able to pull off a stunt like that!
  5. Teeth are not broken, but a few of them are worn down. Im wondering if it could just be the gear on the starter that needs replacing...
  6. Wow! I thought that only happened in movies! Glad u made it out of that one, how in the HECK did he not see you??? I would be beyond ticked off!
  7. Hey guys, figured somebody here could help me find a reputable marine mechanic. I previously dealt with Buckeye marine, mainly because the motor was serviced there from day one. Then my motor started acting up and they quoted me ballpark of $4k to rebuild a 1999 merc 90hp. Went to get a second opinion and it turned out that the motor was serviced incorrectly and had it repaired for $500. That mechanic has moved away since, and im left with nobody to help. Couple weeks ago my starter got jammed in the up position, and motor stalled. I soaked the starter gear shaft and it seems to be working fine now. However, the gears dont catch the flywheel now. I was amazed when i looked up the parts to find out the flywheel sells for almost $600 and starter around $500. With labour im probably more likely to pay around $2k seems pretty crazy to me... Any input? Also i live in oshawa and head north to kawarthas at least couple times a week. Would be a bonus to find somebody along the way. Thanx guys!!
  8. Diesel engines make all the power in low rpm range.. If it doesnt have pull u want off the start look elsewhere. I wouldnt trade my 5.3 for anything.... Well perhaps a 6.2 or 6.6 duramax! Lol! And you should be able to find another yukon/tahoe in that range no problem!
  9. I definetly agree the lake is strange this year! The weeds are different and locations of fish have changed. Took me a couple trips to adjust, but i found what i was looking for and the fishing is great!
  10. Land rover and mercedes G wagon have all the above and then some. But the G wagon has a higher price range. You do get what you pay for tho. I know if i was looking for all those features i would just go with a good old diesel pickup.
  11. Except its not really a "jeep" unlike the ones in ww2. Its an SUV with a long wheel base just like every other one. And tries to mimic european luxury using cheap materials and plastic finish. If youre looking for an off-road vehicle, i would look at a real jeep. I highly doubt it can go anywhere that any other full size 4wd Suv cant.
  12. Or if you want a much better built vehicle with quality materials and superior warranty and customer service. Lets not forget all the above companies were building great vehicles before the dodge brand was even established.
  13. I really like the look and luxury of the new cherokees, and a benz diesel motor is definetly an amazing bonus! However, at that price range i would definetly not be buying a dodge! I would suggest shopping around and test driving other diesel SUV. Such as BMW X5, audi Q7, VW taureg, and mercedes B class..
  14. Is that something the dealer told you or something that you heard elsewhere? Because in the end, its the dealer that decides whether they will honour the warrantee or not based on your servicing. And im spreading what i heard from my dealership and what my best friends first hand experiance was with his dealer. Not to mention that most ppl have no clue what parts they are getting when shopping aftermarket suppliers.
  15. Btw im not bashing jeeps, to me it seems like they hold up much better then the rest of the older chrysler line. Im just not a fan of dodge bodies as most of them i see driving around are rusted out after couple years. I think that dodge makes some of the best motors ever made.
  16. In order to keep your warranty all replacement parts must be genuine parts. Aftermarket parts are much cheaper, most genuine parts especially mercedes parts can only be ordered from mercedes. Not to mention aftermarket parts are garbage Chinese parts for the most part that dont last half as long. As for the sprinter follow the link...http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_Sprinter
  17. Great truck, great motor! But be advised that your service will cost a fortune for the diesel benz. Even more so through chrysler then mercedes. Chrysler has to pay mercedes for parts then markup for profit. I have a friend who greatly regreted his diesel benz/chrysler due to maintenance costs. I own a diesel so i know the costs associated with the maintenance, but mercedes is known to be a major rip-off when it comes to service and parts. With that said, my friend still goes to mercedes for parts for his chrysler vehicle to save money... Crazy! Personally i would much rather spend the $ on a Vw/audi. Or even add few extra bucks for a benz. Quality of dodge vehicles doesnt justify the price in my opinion. Very similar to dodge sprint vans that had mercedes diesel motors, fell apart in no time opposed to mercedes versions that still drive around in mint condition 12years later.
  18. My external did the same thing.. I made arrangements to go to radioworld for exchange when suddenly it worked again. I have the 998c HD unit, and i read about same issues online. It never worked for 2 outings, then suddenly worked again and i havent had any issues since. WEIRD!!
  19. A lot of guys are going to hate me for this, but give the lunkerhunt swimbait a try... Used one for the first time end of last year, and havent looked back since.
  20. They will be back in another week or so i would assume. From what ive noticed over the past years, they tend to move back from the beds after spawning into deeper waters, then return to the shallows in 2-3 weeks... But this year everything seems to be off
  21. Thats always awesome to see!! P.s. i wish i was her size so every large bass i caught looked like a 12lb hog in the pics! Lol
  22. Thats awesome! I did the same thing with my pickup... I have 4 rods and a tacklebox ready to deploy at any given opportunity! I think i would feel like i was naked driving around without them now. Came in handy quite a few times over the past couple years. I keep all my receipts, and worst case scenario, insurance will pay to replace stolen equipment... I dont pay those f#£#% all that money for nothing!
  23. If you have a smartphone, the navionics app is pretty good for locating launches and fishing structures near them. Best $10 ever spent IMO.
  24. May not be like that where you fish, but if u fish a lake in zone 17, and it holds bass... Chances are that the bass outnumber other species by a lot.
  25. I have a german shepherd, and he is on a raw meat diet. It was recommended to me by my trainer.(well respected police dog trainer) he said all 6 of his dogs are on it now and healthier and more active and aware. Also said all his clients noticed a difference in their dogs. Mainly because of stronger immune system. I personally havent noticed any difference but i am a beleiver that dogs are naturally carnivores and raw meat is what they should be eating. Leaves lots of room for debate though..
