  1. All i have ever done was pop the card in my SD drive of my laptop, and downloaded a program from humminbird website.
  2. We did pretty damn good a few days ago. Both of us got our limit for the day. It was non stop action and a lot of fish went back in exchange for bigger ones. They are biting... Might even go back out tonight!
  3. Ya i had about 20+ chasers today, 3 commited. Iced one fish, second popped it off on top of the ice and third was a miss on the hookset. Nice setup tho! Is that a ZL?
  4. My buddy did good during first ice, 6 or 7 pike in a short amount of time. Never fished it personally though..
  5. Congrats FF on the new boat!! Absolutely killer deal compared to anything you will find in canada. Heck, the motor alone wouldnt be too far off that price if you paid significantly less then 8k. Good luck with the purchase, im sure you will enjoy it for many years to come!
  6. I was out on saturday, in the 6* weather and rain. Over a foot of slush at the time everywhere. And i was pushing it with a stupid heavy load in the trailer and a passenger on the sled. Probably the worst conditions ive ever been through.
  7. Thats amazing! Watched that about a dozen times so far!
  8. Welcome to the board, its a blast seeing all these new faces lately. You will be amazed at how helpful everybody here can be, dont be afraid to ask or PM the members. Cheers!
  9. Welcome, i am also muskie and smallie fanatic! Looking gorward to some pics/stories.
  10. I had a really hard time yesterday on Simcoe. Old crappy sled, one passenger and a heavy 2 man frabil sled loaded with equipment. I was surprised we even made it back in the afternoon. The fog was brutal as well, good thing we were familiar with the area, i couldnt imagine how rough it would have been for somebody with a little less experience to get back to shore.
  11. The drill was used just a couple times and was new, started smoking after a few holes and stopped working. There was no need to push on the drill and there was no misuse. I own tons of dewalt tools in 12v, 18v and 20v. And i have never had problems with them, which is why i buy them. However i have not used them in -20C temps to drill holes in ice before. Clearly that is not what are intended for.
  12. Two days ago my friend fried his new (34 day old) 20v dewalt drill with the 6" auger. Just barely past the warranty from the depot.
  13. I went out last week and used 40lb powerpro braid. Got two dozen tanks in 3 hours and called it a day. I wouldnt be too worried about it. I usually use 15lb braid and 4ft leader of 6lb flouro. When the bite is on I doubt it makes a difference.
  14. I think the BF ats is well worth the extra money, but my second choice would be the wrangler ats. Also take a look around for used tires. Tons of great deals out there. I bought the wranglers with about 90% tread for $300 cash installed!!! And couple years back i had a ford f150 with 20" wheels and the tires were gone just before my lease return. I also found a set of bridgestone duelers with 60% tread installed for $200.
  15. I dont have much experience with simcoe ice but i saw friends pics on FB and they were running sleds on the ice. Im surprised that more of the lake isnt frozen with this weather. Guess im to used to driving past scugog. Lol
  16. Foglights wont be bad, going yellow HID. Amazing in snow and wet pavement. I can see it becoming a problem springtime when i install the 6" lift. I will probably get new projectors after that to avoid the blinding.
  17. Oh boy, youre really gonna hate me when i install the second set in my foglights next week and a 24" LED light bar in my push bars... :s
  18. What exactly do you think is stupid about it? I have HID kit in my sierra and it made the world of a difference. Nobody has ever high-beamed me in anger because they get blinded. On the other hand, my best friend just bought a brand new F-150 with projector headlights and gets beamed by 1 of 10 cars passing by because they blind everybody. As long as the headlights are positioned properly i dont see what hatred you have against them.
  19. Yes it wouldnt be a bad idea to check for availability. Who knows, maybe they are just demo models and order-in merchandise. (905) 725-5798
  20. I have had HID kits in my last 4 vehicles. Couldnt imagine driving a vehicle without them ever again. Never had any issues with other drivers once! People are just stupid and dont know how to line up their headlights, and buy kits with 8000k-12000k bulbs. I use 5000k bulbs with all my kits and they cost me less then a good set of halogen bulbs. My last kit was $70. They last way longer, cost less and put out way better and cleaner light. For optimum visibility get a kit with 4500k bulbs which is a true white light. All the kits you guys are complaining about, i guarantee are 8000k+ kits on a truck or SUV. They draw much less power from battery and alternator and u will never kill a battery if u forget to shut the lights off, just one of few perks.
  21. I was looking at a couple units the other day and they seem phenomenal. Gagnons in Oshawa carries the brand.
  22. Simms all the way, super light and comfortable! And no need to wear a million layers. On the down side, its very pricey...
  23. Ya its not very portable thats for sure, i have been looking for a similar unit you have and havent come across anything yet. I was just looking for a cheap way to get a second unit to use on ice, but wouldnt be very cheap if the 898 was to get damaged... Im just going to keep my eyes peeled for a cheap unit for spare!
