  1. Ofcourse it is. Im writing it... I dont speak on behalf o anybody.
  2. Since u get one every cast on any lure you pull out of your tackle box. Im sure you could tie a dog turd on a line with no hook and go to scugog and catch a bunch... If thats not overpopulated then what is?
  3. Unfortunately there isnt too much you can do against idiots like that... Even if the mnr showed up, i dont think they could do anything unless they were possesing the bass. I go pike fishing often, and my fav. Lures to use are swimbaits, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Catch a ton of pike with them alongside of bass. Cant a void it without sacraficing pike action.
  4. Lets not forget they are over-populated and it wouldnt hurt to take a few off their beds... Hence why the mnr opened up the season early in these over-populated areas.
  5. Well said Garnet! Regardless of what i just said about bass, i would rather keep the season we have then put any more pressure on them. I just think too many ppl got their panties in a bunch over one week earlier opener.
  6. I definetly underestimated when i said 1%... But what im trying to say is, not enough anglers keep them to affect the population. People who are hardcore anglers dont tend to keep them, because they would target other species for a fish-fry. Its the people that dont fish often that generally tend to keep bass for eating. Either way, not many of them wind up on the dinner table.
  7. Regardless of when they are spawning, they are being fished year round. And its not affecting their population because they still over-run lakes and nobody keeps them so the population stays plentiful. However u wonna look at it, theyre over-populated and are affecting other fish species population. I dont think we would have any issues if the season was open all year.
  8. I get what youre saying, but lets be realistic... Our waters are jammed full of bass, and maybe 1% of anglers keep them for the plate. There is no danger even if we fished them all year. Many places in the states do, and they have no issues.
  9. Hahahahaha!!!!! Thats hillarious! Toes has my vote... Nothing like being stuck in work boots for 12 hrs. With an itchy bite from the weekend! Almost made me throw my tools down and quit a couple times! Lol.
  10. Toilet bowl cleaner was recommended to me from a marina. They had a ton of peoducts on the shelf, and when i adked which one they use for their detail jobs, i was told "none, dont waste your money!" All they use is toilet bowl cleaner and a brush, let sit for 5-10 mins. And rinse off well. Ofcourse dont use in or near water, and MAKE SURE ITS RINSED OFF!!! Before launching boat. Worked amazing for me and got rid of stains i could never get off with previous expensive cleaners. Boat looked new again after 14 years!
  11. My smart charger will not work unless i disconnect and charge separately...
  12. To get the 24v. Run a positive wire from your motor to one battery, and negative to the other battery. Then using a jumper cable, connect the remaining two terminals from both batteries( one positive and one negative) to each-other.
  13. You will probably get the best info from watching it on youtube. Probably easier to understand then reading about it when it comes to wiring diagrams. Series vs. parallel wiring will determine whether you are getting 12v or 24v.
  14. Also to add, the season is open a month later then usual. Try to avoid shallow and sandy areas where the bass might be still spawning if u care about the fish. Personally dont think its a big deal tho. Ministry knows what theyre doing. Ive had good luck in the kawarthas last couple days while fishing musky with 4" swimbaits.
  15. I only used it for high clarity water when targeting eyes. Usually 10-12lb test. And would never put it on my baitcaster again. I dont know why, but cant go a dozen casts without getting a nest.
  16. This past weekend we went out for both days. We didnt have too much luck on our regular weedline spots where we normally use harnesses and jigs. We changed tactics and decided to target some points. Instantly we figured out a pattern which was hair jigs on points... One of the most productive pickerel days in years! Yellow hair jigs were proven to be key factor of success as a stubborn friend who refused to switch-up got skunked. Lol
  17. agreed 100%! I switched all my reels to various braids some with flouro leaders, and one ultralight rod with mono. After numerous attempts with flouro i finally said never again! Way too much time wasted on the water swearing and stressing...
  18. A lot of the lakes dont allow motors, but lakes such as Opeongo should be covered. Even if they dont allow motors, there are still hazards that can be avoided by being able to look at charts and dangers.
  19. How come i have all the surrounding areas covered, and Algonquin is exclusively not covered? Does anybody have a reason why it isnt covered? Perhaps government doesnt allow it?
  20. Hey guys, just bought a Navionics Hotmaps platinum. I was very surprised to find that all of Algonquin park was blanked out... I find it pretty odd that one of the most popular tourist hot-spots in canada isnt shown on the most expensive chart. Is there any charts out there that will show me the area?
  21. That had to have been a dead or dying pike...??
