  1. I have been to wolseley lodge last 3 years, and i am definetly not going back... Its overcrowded and overfished. Dont get me wrong there is lots of fish, but u definetly need to work harder to get them then most surrounding areas. First two times i went we had bad weather, so i figured i would try again last year, and nothing spectacular. Ive had more action in the kawarthas many, many times. Hopefully somebody who is more familiar with the area can point u in the right direction... And i will follow as well. Lol!
  2. If buying two high end units consider new lowrance units.. They are iphone and ipad compatible so u can view and control unit through apps. And save a bunch of $ and have a 12" monitor if using ipad

  5. I have an 05 model, never once had an issue with the truck... Knock on wood.... Best truck i have ever owned! I get mine rust sprayed every year from crown because they tend to have rocker panel decay, its important to get it drilled and sprayed with oil on the inside of the panel. Will give u way more life on the truck. I hear they had some issues with the push button 4x4 unlike floor shift. And very important to get your diff. serviced regularly because its the main cause of expensive repair. Also the tranny tends to give out around 200 000- 250 000km. Other then that the trucks seem to run forever. The 5.3L has a little bit better reputation and fuel economy(highway and towing). But i have a friend with an 02 with half million km on it and still running mint.
  6. You can buy a life-proof case at almost any phone store and bestbuy. I think they cost $60 and are "water-proof"! They are slimmer and better looking then otterbox. And about the same price. My best friend owns one for his iphone5 and has taken countless underwater pics with it already.
  7. Im the opposite, i have only used cable motors... Never had the opportunity to try the electric ones, and all i have ever heard about them was bad( by bass boat guys). Beacause they dont hold direction through thick weeds and current... I just bought a new Foretexx only cuz i heard those models were no good in heavy weeds. Do you have any of those problems?
  8. . How are those Terrova units? Have u used the wired motors before?
  9. I was thinking the same thing, but a 7" screen is too small to view from bow, especially when viewing really fine imaging from structure scan... Could just wire everything up and just use same unit in both spots
  10. . Still a lot cheaper to get a ram mount and waterproof case and module then a $3500 hds-12
  11. The new hds units can connect with iphone and ipad and give u full control of the unit using an app. Amazing idea! Now i can floor-mount my massive ipad at the bow of the boat, and get a HDS-12 size monitor for free...
  12. I have the navionics HD app. For my new ipad. Its great for use as a backup or secondary map, however the maps are not as accurate, and most of the northern lakes down show u any detail or depth. Also cell phone service is hard to come by further up north so i wouldnt rely on accurate gps as well
  13. I cant understand how simcoe isnt overflowing with pickerel...
  14. Sail store in oshawa is having a no HST sale on whole top floor, and additonal 20% off all rods. (Except combos)
  15. Hahaha, nice! Seen one at Sail yesterday... I think they were charging $59. Should have mentioned they are having a no hst sale until sunday, and all rods an additional 20% off! Not sure how far oshawa is from you but its worth dropping by, they have a pretty good selection
  16. I bought an abu garcia black max 2 years ago(left hand), at canadian tire because they had it on clearance for $40. It felt really light and smooth for the price, so i bought it for a spare... I have used it a lot since and really like it a lot... Never ever backlashes on me and casts further then my chronarch! Its not my number one choice, but definitely best reel i own for the money.
  17. Going to simcoe tomorrow with a couple friends, i heard the whitefish were scarce this year... Anybody have any luck lately? Whats the depth i or area i should be targeting? I was just south of white shoal last week with no luck at all, but did land a really nice laker.
  18. Thanx guys, the vinyl from BPS sells in 72" and 96" rolls and sells in 1yd. Increments at $40/yd. for the 72" roll. I think thats what im going to go with... I was just a little worried about folding and creasing it. However i found out its super easy to work with when heated up.
  19. Hey guys, i have a project boat i picked up last year(2000 legend v-170 scorpion 90 merc elpto). The boat is currently in shop getting a motor rebuild and when i get it back, the interior is getting gutted to customize compartments and extend rear casting platform. I have been debating going with vinyl upholstery instead of carpet, but im skeptical with it because i have never worked with it before and its pretty pricey. Any input or ideas would be much appreciated... Thanx guys!
  20. I fish pigeon at least 3 times a week in the summer. Last year i bought a fortrex 80lb with the gen2 weedless blade, thats the one with the little winglets on the blade to push the weeds away from the prop, and WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! i dont think i honestly got cought up once. And i pushed it through some serious grass. I would recommend that prop to every bass fisherman. Never looked into it but i already heard of guys somehow rigging these props on a motorguide... Its quite a bit of work but must be worth it if the guys are going through all that trouble to get it on.
