The former and active US military guys in upper NY state: The DMZ, No Fly Zone, no mans land, ambush point, locked and loaded bay., Guantanamo, Mai Kong Delta, The Water Board, Omaha and Juno Beaches. The Rockers, Alabama bay, the Rolling Stone, Rascal Flats, Kate's bush, Johnny's River, Justins beaver dam. The list goes on, and on and, and.

Have been successful in late summer early fall with tubes and dropshoting Smallies. Get as vertical as possible. I also like drifting a Lindy Rig with a larger Gulp Leech or whatever live minnows are natural in the river. I go as big as I can get for live bait now until November.

Just this year I started leaving the keys in both ignitions, hard to loose them unless they take the entire rig. My spare key for the big motor won't insert any longer. I keep that on my truck key ring. It won't be long the other key is worn too, actually it is worn as I have to play with it to turn. It is cheaper for me to change the ignition switch then for 2 more keys from Merc I was told at the marina. Ignition switch is less than $30.00. I better do that.

All I can add is for your Walleye jigs add a stinger. I don't think anyone can say " use this brand of lure with this colour and you will catch fish". It really doesn't work that way, it takes many hours and many dollars in tackle to zone in on a species. And if the West Arm is anywhere close to like it is west of Callander Bay for rocks hidden just below the water. Do not, I repeat do not go out at night fishing there unless you know that water inside and out. Even then there is no such person that is an expert at not hitting a rock(s) and or ending up on a shoal with a foot of water covering it on Nip. I spent one very, very cold night just west of Bear Creek in a boat in May hung up on a large shoal. We had to wait until someone saw us in the morning. When daybreak came I was about 2 miles from where I thought I was, that was the 10th year fishing regularly there. And I took the bottom end of the outboard out to boot. We were going at trolling speed when we bottomed out thankfully. No way we were able to get that wooden Geisler off that shoal, no way. Be careful man and good fishing.

Corvette, On certain nights we can see the lights on the stack at the power plant in Dunkirk from our place here across the lake. Now we can see the windturbine lights too. Hope these pics last a few more weeks here. Go get em.

The question is do you measure on the contour of the fish which will always be larger than on the horizontal plane. Measure it horizontally without touching the fish, I recommend not pinching the tail for a slot limit fish, this I believe is not clear in the regs. The regs and all legislature are written in order to keep millions of Canadian lawyers in business.

Before we moved here have been checked once in 20 years for OOS Bass from Nanticoke Hydro outflow. The last 5 yrs have had 6 safety checks. No problem.

I have fished Callander from 79 to 95 when in laws had a cottage there. I would never fish at night with all the rock ledges and out cropping's since we got stranded overnight on a shoal in late September pre GPS , cell phone, sonar etc. It gets cold. I said we can leave the light on and find our way back. Yea right. If you have ever seen the movie On Golden Pond, that's what Callander can be like. If anyone thinks they know that water they are full of it. I am planning a trip at the same exact time and have chosen the West Arm, better chance to fish in the protected bays etc.. We have gone up many times in Fall and been blown off the lake. At least that was when they had the Ballet in North Bay!

Actually I just Googled Nain and there are 1036 residents in 36 square miles, and the land around Nain is beautiful. The article never said exactly where they found it. And did you not see much on the screens as well. Baits of choice in the last week, blue and chrome Ripplin Redfin,The Silver Streak Greasy Chicken (smaller version) S.S. Michael Jackson with gold fleck, purple back Reef Runner. 10 colours out on leadcore, 45 to 50 feet down on riggers, long lead back 50 plus feet. "0" Dipsy's 175 feet plus on #3 setting. Trolling speed on GPS 1.8 to 2.2 MPH for harnesses and 2 to 3 MPH on spoons and body baits.. We haven't had much luck this year on harnesses. Most of the Walleye ave come from that 50 foot range in 85' of water the last week. All of our baits have a worm or 1/2 worm on a single back hook. I always check the lure beside the boat at trolling speed as well before setting them.

It's funny Hooked, when I first read your question I thought about my Eagle Ultra Fish I.D. Exactly 20 years old in October. Still works like new. The first year we used it no one could take their eyes off the thing until we ran aground one morning on Bernard. How you run aground on a 300 foot plus deep lake don't ask me. Oh I remember, we were watching TV and not steering. That's when I learned what a shallow water alarm was. It was just amazing, like 3 cavemen watching a stone wheel rolling down a hill for the first time and crushing everyone in it's path. I sure like that Lowrance Elite if I was spending your money. I believe I did read something about it a while back, so since I have a PC I was sent of to do more homework for the crew and settle a " discussion". I have searched the Transport Canada site and can't come up with anything other than the registration I.D. on both sides of the bow above the water line. Little Johnny the owner of the farm we were at remembers that all the farm trucks actually needed the farms name on the trucks way back when. We were pulled over by an OPP boat at Port Bruce last Friday. We got nothing but politeness and respect from the 2 constables. I had my inflatable on as I always do and asked my fellow fisherman why he doesn't have one. Personally I have to agree with them that especially out on Erie in 5 foot chop everyone should have a PFD on, always. Don't let a few idiot Barney Fifes spoil the rep that many of our young Cops have earned.

For serious crimes the OPP go onto the rez regularly in concert with Six Nations Police. The story really isn't funny. What was BIL going to do if he caught the guy? glenner, idle screws or what ever mechanical adjustments for the carb are notorious for moving on it's own considering the vibrations and banging around that motor sees, especially on an older model. Like Bill said it only takes a few seconds on most ourboards to adjust. The mechanical float on buddies Mercruiser is another thing but that 35 you have should be simple, go for it. edit, we have my 115 Mariner 2 stroke tuned so I can get 1.8 mph to pull harnesses. Took all of 5 minutes.

I might spend the money getting the idle set lower before dropping $100.00 plus on a trolling plate. They do work well, I like the auto up plates, it comes up and drops depending on speed. On a smaller boat the plate you are looking at are fine. Back trolling is great also depending on the height of the transom and chop on the water.

And in entertainment news both TSN and WFN have picked up the popular sports fishing series produced in Ontario " Fishin' with Jack" for 12 more episodes. Jack couldn't be reached for comment as it was recess at his school.

Chris, If bro has lived in Haldimand Norfolk long enough I'm surprised he would even think of leaving the keys in any vehicle. We know many, many who have lost there vehicles locked or not. My wife's co worker had her Dodge Ram stolen from a Shoppers parking lot in broad daylight. The call to the OPP resulted in her just making a report over the phone. They laughed when she asked what they were going to do to find it. Unless he buys it back he will never see it again, video or no video, sad really. When we are away I actually hide the spare keys in my locked home. And I have to say it isn't always those stealing that are from the reserve, often it is locals and end up on the reserve where there is a market for hot vehicles. It's a daily occurrence here.
