  1. I hear birds. Maybe that's why my "wifes" cat won't come in. Saw a healthy coyote walking across the ice today. To bad he didn't see the cat.
  2. We already have a 2 tiered system. Nothing stopping anyone from going to a private clinic in Ontario and paying for the privilege of immediate service.
  3. We have a rural corner store that sells booze. Not the greatest selection but it beats driving the close to an hour return trip to the LCBO. The Beer Store is even farther. That at least was something done right by the province. The hours of operation are better than the LCBO too. Now if these changes will promote competition greater yet but I doubt it.
  4. She has her stuff and I have mine. Except I can be seen with the same rod and reel or Driver more than once or twice. Plus they never go out of style, they become classics.
  5. I played Industrial Fastball in 86' and tore up the muscles in my rib area check swinging. It hurts today when I turn to my left and reach down. Good luck.
  6. Thank you Mister G. I would like to know how this works. Injects air into fixture according to description to increase pressure. There isn't a pump that comes with it to boost pressure and one can not increase water pressure unless a gas is injected or increased at the source, shallow well pump, well submersible, town source, increase volume in town water tower to increase hydrostatic pressure, how else? I don't know? 20 something bucks isn't bad, I will gladly pay more if I can get full volume. Have you seen some of the outrageous prices for some designer shower heads, thousands of dollars, not hundreds. My wife showed me one made of clear plexi glass for something like 500 bucks, plastic!! Solid platinum several thousand $$$ for the guy that has everything. I remember Ivanca Trump showing her solid Gold bathroom fixtures in their apartment in the new Trump Towers on This Old House when Bobby Villa was host, something like $500,000.00 in the 80's, or was it 1.5 million, nuts. So 25 bucks aint to bag.
  7. That is something one of the guys at the plant used to say about somewhere he had never been. But based on what he had heard about the place he didn't intend on ever visiting. What he meant to say was something like " I've never been to Beirut and from I've heard never want to, but it came out a little differently. By the way I have a million of them, sayings not dollars.
  8. Wolf 3, thank you, thank you, grazia mille ( a thousand thanks). That's the one I have been looking for. Special Mate, holds 120 8" crank baits. They are available and on sale right now at Pro Tackle Musky Shop in Belleville for $64.99. If anyone wants to know why this is the best fishing forum in the world this is a prime example as to why. Regardless of the inane winternet threads on ridiculous things like waitresses calling everyone "guys". It took 45 minutes to get the right information here. Wolf, what stock should I buy today? Thanks again, John D
  9. Yes it's 2015, even though this thread is 5 years old a thread like this never gets old. I love sneaking a peek at another persons box. That just doesn't sound right. I know some anglers that would rather let you look at their wife naked than look at their tackle. Seriously A friend of mine is like that. Some can't wait to show you. A fishing pal I have, Groundy, has rooms full of tackle. I think he had to ask a live in Gal he had once to move out because her stuff was taking up valuable tackle space. This great outdoorsman has more "stuff" that is fishing related then some fairly well stocked bait shops, for sure more. I have too much myself to get on a disc. At least I wished I did. Good reminder to take pictures for insurance purposes. My 6 or 7 boxes of minnow baits for Lake Erie Eyes has to be worth a grand at least. While on the subject of tackle boxes I am looking for the box a guy I fished with from another forum last year on Erie had.His profile isn't on there anymore, I hope he is OK if you know what I mean. The box is a hard box that the top opens, it has hard plastic what I will call pages in them that flip side to side. The hooks of the tackle is hung on small opennings on the tops of the pages and as I said you can flip the pages like you would in a filing cabinet. No way hooks can get tangled up and the baits are easy to see. I know they sell them at a shop in Woodstock but have not seen any online. Anyone know what the hey I'm talking about? I've never seen one like this in the 35 years I've been fishing. Thank you if you can help me find one. I know they can't be cheap, but it would save me hauling a half a dozen or more trays of minnow baits in the boat. As far as posting pics of my boxes, no you can't look, especially the boxes of my antique plugs and spoons. I don't need any looky loos putting athe gleep on them when I'm not home. Hey I was raised and lived in Hamilton for 45 years, I don't trust anyone. What is also cool reading an old thread is the many names I recognize and the many I don't.
  10. At my age!!! Why I autta. Actually at my age I'll take anything I can get Guy.
  11. Food Art that tastes great too. They can keep surf and turf and I'll keep my money in my pocket. You can wrap fresh Walleye in old newspapers and it would still be great.
  12. I've never been to a Target store in Canada and ain't goin back. And with all the brouhaha with the closing and the ridiculous "sales" I can't believe people are still going in there.
  13. It seems every town or city I do visit there are SDM's everywhere, like Hortons. I've asked store associates, owners, why that company competes with itself. They pointed out it is the independent owners that compete, the corporation collects the benefits of this competition. The overhead in these stores is phenomenal.
  14. I apologize Lew, Roy was on my mind since he corrected me recently in a PM.
  15. Be careful Roy. I was told by someone 40 years younger than I am that "hooking up" with other GUYS or Dudes has an entirely different meaning than I thought it did.
  16. Many don't realize how beneficial a "weaker" CDN dollar is to us.
  17. The MNR is also looking for summer students. The link is on Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Watch round up. While there sign up for their updates. Highly recommended by our leader TJQ.
  18. An interesting discussion to read for someone that never really learned how to skate, yes I was born in Canada.
  19. I don't know how much more Shoppers can expand, there seems to be one in every neighbourhood.
  20. A fun read thanks. Ohh that Rubin. I think he doesn't want the job of getting the sandwich stuff for next year, maybe a smooth move on Ruby's part.
  21. If I'm not mistaken it was Loblaws that bought out Shoppers Drug Mart. I should know that detail as my wife is a Shoppers employee. The first thing done was to start cutting redundant positions in management. Area managers might as well visit the Zhers down the street the same day as visiting the drug stores in the same area. Lets hope some of these jobs Loblaws are offering pay enough to allow a families quality of life to be maintained or at least be able to keep the Wolves at bay. I doubt there are any full time positions paying for benefits, those days are long gone. The "X" generation will be the first generation that will not be in a better financial position that their parents were at the end of their lives. There are some Baby Boomers that will or are not in a better position that our parents were at this point of our lives. We play now and pay latter unlike the previous generation.
  22. I am available for adoption as either his sibling or surrogate Grand Dad.
  23. The thief may have not been charged by the police but he would not have been let off lightly. He would have had to pay a monetary goof tax as well as gotten a spanking in the old days, and he would have thought really hard the next time he thought about taking something that wasn't his to take. He would notice a finger or 2 missing. That does a heck of a lot more to deter theft than a 12 month suspended sentence. I don't know about today.
  24. I may have missed the ice breaker going by because the gap is closed this AM. Wormdunker, there is a quick formula to determine how far off shore something is based on how far above the shoreline you are.
  25. There appears to be a strip of open water 3 miles from shore here on Erie.
