  1. I have relatives in Wilson, fishing the lower river on the NY side brings back memories.
  2. See you tomorrow.
  3. fish-fishburn, it is addictive. Based on my real life observations of pot heads I know personally since grade school it is. Please prove it isn't. I have proof, old friends, relatives, acquaintances . If it's not addictive that should be easy to prove. Go ahead prove it. You can't. I can. Wasted lives, wasted families. Yea, prove it slick.
  4. I thought it was already legal to grow your own.
  5. Of course I would look at the SPCA before I would spend 1200 bananas for a Sheperdoodlelabrawolf. The only joke my father that did not have a sence of humor ever told us when we had a cat when I was around 10. 2 jokes in 62 years. Kids the cat died. It got locked in the garage and froze solid. I poured gasoline on it and all of a sudden it started running in circles around the garage. All of a sudden it dropped to the floor dead! "What happened Pa?" It ran out of gas. Maybe an older Dog with a Handicapped Parking sticker Art. Condolences to the original poster, what was the question?
  6. A very good reply Dutch, hit all the W's. I have seen MJ guys Jonesing when they are out. I don't know how bad it is, no rolling on the floor in a fetal position like other withdrawals I've unfortunately seen thank God. When we went on 12 hour shifts it became obvious who was addicted to what ever it be. Guys couldn't go past 8 hours without a beer, shot, line or hit. Sad to see. These were good guys with problems. GBayGiant starts a MJ thread every once and a while. Gets some good discussions going, cuts and pastes news articles and opinions, he is anti-gov and anti-corporation and pro MJ. I asked earlier what he wants to see happen in the future but has yet to answer me as to what exactly he wants to see happen.
  7. I, we had a Dog when I was working shifts and rotating days off. There was always someone home to walk her and she wouldn't be locked up inside for more than a few hours. If for any reason we would be out we were lucky enough to have the In Laws close by to let her out. I was considering getting a Pup for the last few years. I know it would force me to get out for a walk everyday. But there are times I just can't walk more than 20 feet. So it wouldn't be fair to a pup who would run me ragged. I have started to lean in the direction of getting a pup since this thread started, it would force me to walk everyday, use it or lose it. So I'm thinking hard about it again as we don't travel like we did a few years back and it would be great for me physically and emotionally. The real problem is my wife is the Cat Lady, usually she has 2. Her Cat (that hates me by the way) is 11 years old and I don't think it would be too kind to a new puppy coming into it's space. Anyone want an old mean black male Cat that pukes in my shoes and runs my life?
  8. Tha is about the only thing I have never been called Grimsby. M2B2, of course there are Dogs with jobs. I'm talking about Dogs that never get to go for a walk and are cooped up in Condos and Apts. Yes there would be companion Dogs, that's their job, I just think it's selfish of some owners. My own idiot brother cages the Jack Russell for up to 10 hours a day in a Condo and has a kitty litter box. It has never seen a blade of grass. They should be locked up for 24 hours day in and day out and see how they like it. People like them shouldn't have a pet Rock.
  9. GBayGiant, please don't tell me cannabis isn't addictive, you insult others and my intelligence. I've been around pot heads longer than you have been alive.
  10. I love Dogs, I had a Staffordshire/Pit/Boston mutt for 10 years. I would put this Dog up against many people I know in a battle of wits. Every day no matter where the Dog was or what we were doing she would run downstairs at 5:30 on the dot and sit in front of the TV and whine until you turned it on to Wild Kingdom, sit and watch all the animals run across the screen. She became so smart I was amazed. Never a day sick. I strongly believe a Dog can only be as good as the owner. I have seen many that do not deserve to have a Dog, they become more of a status symbol than a companion. When Hurricane Katrina hit rescuing a Dog from there became the thing to do. I know a few people that gave them away after the vogue wore off. For every Dog that came north meant one of our Dogs did not find a home. There are so many Dogs in our pounds that will eventually be put down because they will never find a home I really don't get it when people want a specific designer Dog. Sorry but that's my take.
  11. A kid got shot to death in Hamilton years back for stealing a lunatics tomatoes from his yard. What will it cost to guard your MJ that is home grown. Every year out here crops get stolen in the dead of night in the fall. The problem for the grower is he isn't going to call 911 to report it. If it is actually legal to grow your own at home there will always be someone that is too lazy to grow their own so they will just take yours. I have been told that legally bought medical MJ is much more than what you can get it for on the street. True or false? Regardless there will always be a black market for weed, legalized or not. Just as is Res smokes and that gut rot booze sold by the gallon. Both tobacco and alcohol can be bought legally as well as Opiates but if there is something out there cheaper or easier to get without a script regardless of quality it will have a market. Giant, you want it legal but don't want politicians and corporations involved. I read what you write and the statements you quote. What is it exactly that you do want?
  12. I don't know about that area but we used to get them in the feeder creeks off the main rivers depending on water temps, usually early April during the spawn. It wasn't as easy to get them to bite as to find them in a few feet of water. Spearing was legal then.
  13. A pal recently bought something like a Sheperterrier and paid 1200 bucks for it. C'mon Man!! It's a cross bred mut with a cute name. Buy a nice rescue dog and call it whatever you wish. My Sis in law has a Labradoodle. What a silly dog it is, chases it's tail all day and night long, nice but a numb skull of a mut. I'm looking for Pitsharpiterrirottawiener, any out there?
  14. I have empathy for the employees, they are the real losers when this happens. I have been to the Tonawanda store a few times when I visit relatives there. They have nothing that I can't get from my local tackle shop. Of course there is far greater choice, too many choices for me, and sometimes prices. Adding 30% there makes prices here palpable, but I won't miss it. For me less choice is easier shopping, I do not enjoy shopping. If I need something I go out and buy it after I find it online.
  15. Been there for a tour. It's in the middle of the woods. The tour was nice but the goodie bag was nicer as it had 10 lures and a T shirt in it. I loved the smell of Balsa wood being turned. They have a facility in Ireland, look on the box, most likely says Made in Ireland.
  16. Yep it's spring when I have an urge, uncontrollable urge, to buy new tackle. See you guys on the 25th in Ancaster. I need jigs this year. All mine got wet last summer and rusted into a giant 5 pound ball of Iron. If anyone is selling them there let me know please.
  17. Driving classes should be mandatory. Not just the rules of the road, a Orangutan can pass a beginners. Real driving ed. Scenes of the aftermath of fatalities. I cringe when I think back driving at 17. I knew well enough then that 16 was just too young. I drove inside the Steel Plant at 16, without a real license though. Talk about times where rules and laws were ridiculously slack. If you got pulled over hammered the Cop took your keys and you picked them up the next day or he told you not to drive and drove away. 16 is too young and 75 is too old. Road tests for anyone over 70 should be mandatory as well. My Father couldn't back out of the driveway at 70 but he flew through the written test every year and drove until he nearly killed someone. Something is really wrong. The Gov. has enough money to go to court and try a woman for giving water to a pig going to slaughter though but not enough for a real drivers ed. young or old. This Province has gone insane.
  18. And The Toronto Motorsport Speedway is in Cayuga Ontario. Only 2 hours from Toronto. Makes for some confusion for people from Ohio when they ask how far to the CN Tower ?
  19. Same thing in LCBO's around here. No more than 1 sample per person. Who keeps track?
  20. That's funny man. It sounds like when I started, you would be my brother and I would have been your brother. I never fished until I turned 27. I am left handed and used the spinning reel upside down until I found out it was reversible. No one said a thing for an entire year. Welcome aboard, as far as someone telling you about a great fishing hole, good luck. Barrie is a great start, find some water and throw a line.
  21. ...nope. I miss spoke.
  22. There must be mandatory classes for High School kids to educate on distracted driving and driving under the influence. I hope there are. I'm not talking about sitting in a room watching videos, go to the Hospitals, wrecking yards and cemetaries to see the real damage. The same goes for the more Sr. of our citizens that I know think drinking and driving is a risk you take in everyday life. I bet 5 out of 10 people leaving a Legion at 4PM are DUI. And the Police must know the same thing. The same goes for rural bars here emptying out at 2 AM, the few that exist at least because the OPP basically shut them down by parking outside at 1AM, that's a good thing for everyone but the guys that lost their businesses.
  23. I have seen that somewhere. Very sobering message. Now I can only pray someone heeds it. Death due to driving hammered has visited close to me too many times. I have been known to take keys from more than 1 belligerent drunk who insisted they are OK, mind your own business. Look at you now, I asked you nicely. I never went overboard. If you are sitting on my deck having a great time and you have had 4 drinks in 45 minutes you are staying here until I feed you, you have a nap and I am satisfied you are fit to drive. Option 2 is stay the night and you can have as many drinks as you wish plus breakfast. Option 3, not good.
  24. seanik, may I ask what prompted you to decide to drive all he way to Toronto to see the Sportsman Show? I personally have boycotted it for years when it turned from a Sportsman Show to a Millionaires home show. The stuff they are flogging there just isn't in my budget. Those were the days when you could walk out with a goodie bag of inexpensive or even free stuff. I think Ford was POTUS though. I hope you have a great time though, just not for many folks and myself these days.
  25. There's no place like home you old phart. Hurry up and get better. Please keep in touch.
