Hydro service isn't mandatory. If you use, you pay unless you are stealing electricity for your grow op.

Put one foot in front of the other and move forward. That's all any of us can do. Take care of yourself and your mom. Your dad sounds like he was a heck of a guy. Hang on tight to those good memories.

There are always a deal or two to be had at the shows. I go to take a look and see what's out there. Great way to pass an afternoon.

ONLY LEASE if you can write off the expense. It's a game that the car companies are playing with consumers these days, get a car you can't afford to buy, but can afford the lease payments and get a new one every 3-4 years. They have you for life that way. I can write cars off and what I do is buy a 2-3 year old car with less than 60 000kms and depreciate it over a few years. I drive them till the tires fall off. A car is a car is a car. Don't spend a lot unless you can afford it. Here is a free piece of financial planning advice, take your gross annual income and divide by 3, that's the maximum you should spend on a car. More than that, you are living beyond your means.

EBay and the internet. She should do some homework before seeing someone. Its a lot of work but could prevent her from being ripped off. Everyone wants to hit a home run off of every customer these days. Its too bad.

Alex, you and your entire family have my most sincerest condolences. This is devastating news. Hang in there.

No. He was an electrical engineer and used contacts from his days while working. I do know he did not skimp out and it wasn't cheap but his system works quite fine for his needs.

I've got a Calcutta TE that I use for bucktails, the big stuff I use my 7000. I use my Curado 300 for small bucktails and for the small to midsize swimbaits.

For a hundred bucks, even if it doesn't run you should be able to get it going for a couple of hundred. Those old two strokes were smoky and hard to start but they ran forever.

Nice 'eyes!!!!

A couple of good sized panels with a good battery setup and you should be fine, you won't have enough power to run electrical heating but you will have enough for lighting, basic appliances (toaster or coffee maker), a water pump and battery power for your propane fridge. It can be done, just depends on how much you are willing to pay up front and also factor in maintenence costs as well (battery replacement and the like). I've got a client who did that with his cabin up near Parry Sound, he's off the grid and he lives there year round now. He chops lots of firewood in the spring to feed the woodstove to keep the place toasty warm (actually hot).

Double 10s and larger are a hard pulling bait requiring a low gear ratio of 4-4.5:1. A big reel like the 7000i makes up for that with a really big spool so it gets them back to the boat pretty quick. The 6500 or the Curado 300 are great for smaller baits but for the big stuff, I like my 7000, like Lew said, it's not the smoothest but it gets the job done efficiently.

Big kick in the ass that's for sure. Good luck and keep a positive attitude. You can beat this s.......t!!!

A couple of things that everyone has seemed to ignore in this thread. Yes, a lighter line should get you further casts. Another thing to consider is making sure your reel and it's bearings are lubed nicely. I love Quantum HotSauce, it smoothed up my Abu 6500C4 musky reel and made it feel like something completely different. Another thing is possibly upgrading the bearings in your reels or even upgrading your reels. You didn't mention what kind you have. A $50 Canadian Tire Baitcaster is never ever going to cast anything like a Curado or more expensive.

Try Nutriflex along with fish oil supplements. Give that a month or two before you start taking heavy meds that will end up messing something else up. Good luck.

Truck rear wheels lock up without applying brakes
bigbuck replied to GoneFishin's topic in General Discussion
Did he buy it certified?? If so, drop it off at the shop that did the cert and have them fix it on their dime. Otherwise, let them know you will be notifying the MTO of the problems with the brakes. Most likely, the problems are with brakes that are sticking, could be bad wheel cylinders, out of adjustment brake shoes, bad calipers, etc... Have it looked at pronto, it's not safe the way it is right now. -
Get a 14ft or a 16ft tinny. 12 you will grow out of the first time you use it. For the 14, get a 15 or 20hp motor and the 16 at least a 20hp. You might be able to find a decent pkg for as little as 2000 bucks and the sky is the limit. Good luck.

You are setting yourself up for more headache and heartache. The guy doesn't have the cash to pony up but is out talking about flowers that he bought for his girlfriend and going out and getting gassed up. Do you really need a guy like this around?? Seriously?? I know you are trying to get a guiding service going but it's a tough gig to make any real money. I'm not going to preach to you about how you should live your life or make your living but BE REALISTIC AND BE TRUE TO YOURSELF. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you want to do.

A tip of the hat to you.

They've got too much power and control over our lives. The worst thing the feds did was take down the '3 Pillars' of financial services in the 90's. Banking, Brokerage and Insurance were all kept separate from each other and for good reason. Now banking and brokerage are done in branches and the insurance is next door. Thankfully, Chretien and Martin didn't let them merge, if that happened, it would pretty much be a monopoly here and there would be too much power in one single company. We need to keep tight gov't control over the banks lest we have a situation like the US where they control pretty much everything. So, good for you with going to ING.

You have to be sure of your RPM's, do you have a tach on the boat?? If you drop too low in pitch, you may raise the rpm's above the recommended limit and that will definitely end up badly for your motor, overevving is not what you want to be doing.

I find that if I layer my defences, I don't have too much of a problem, spray myself down with a bit of Muskol and fire up the Thermacell and I don't get 'bugged' too much. If it's a bit breezy, it's not too effective but when it's windy, the bugs aren't out anyways. So, here's for some wind and some walleye chop!!

Looks like a good time was had by all, nice to see the young guy putting on a clinic for the old pros.

Cars need to be run up to full operating temp and stay there for a while to prevent this sort of thing. Regular maintenance ie. oil changes should be done at the recommended intervals from the manufacturer, not the dealer who sometimes cuts them down to get you in there more often spending money unnecessarily. Also, with the new engines out there, you really have to pay attention to the correct type, quality and grade of oil. Jeez, before, you'd go to Cdn Tire, pick up a few liters of 10w30, a filter and you were good to go, now you have to make sure that it meets Ford spec564945846944 or Honda spec366454213654 etc..... These new engines can get sludge buildup really quick now if the maintenance schedule isn't followed.
