OK, glad y'all had a good time. Now where are the pics??
-
Yeah, those two fish look REALLY familiar! WTG Greg, they're awesome smallies. Were they hugging the bottom at those depths? Beauties for sure, thanks for sharing.
-
Majestic birds for sure Lew. Glad you got a nice close look. Ummmm, you might want to consider holding ol' Marv in your arms when you near those critters.
-
Just think of the business opportunities! Mini rod pods, micro line out alarms, miniature corn....shore fishing space will be at a premium!

Am I wishfull thinking, or did I just hear on the radio
Roy replied to irishfield's topic in General Discussion
"Perhaps I should just shut up till I know more of what's really going on, huh?" No John. From what I've read so far, you are leagues ahead of anyone I know on this board. I'd hire you as my/our representative anytime. -
Good stuff, Cliff. Ummmm, how do you keep your rod cork so clean?

There's probably no money in a muskie record. A carp record...now THAT's a good bet. There'd be a few workarounds though. I mean, I doubt very much that Green Giant would want to go head to head against Rapala. So, I would say that the big fat WR carp was caught on a 13" Jake (macedoine pattern) at 6mph over 150' of water. Of course to make it look authentic we'd need to airbrush gum prints all over the Jake. (with Jake's permission of course) Now, we approach Lund or whoever the highest bidder is for a boat sponsorship. Five hundred thousand carp fishermen would need a boat. I think with a little thought, this may work. ps. Pete, in case you're reading this, macedoine pattern is a black background topped with a bright yellow corn topping and a flame orange carrot overlay. You could save money on 3-D eyes...just paint in a stem or corn silk or somesuch....

This guy was in my back yard last week. We don't get too many foxes around here. That was the best shot I was able to get of him. Everytime there was a good photo-op, he'd hightail it out of there before I could get to the camera.

I'm sorry you lost a bud, Steve. Good on you and the rest of the folks who worked at finding Serge. Bad news indeed. My condolences to Serge's family and friends.
-
A wonderful report David. I look forward to them all the time. Thanks.

Tonight's topic is whatever you feel comfortable with. (No PJs please)

Do those baits have anything to do with Grant Koppers? Where are they made/imported from? They do look nice.
-
I agree MB. Here's another interesting thing they say: Limit - Sport License: You are only allowed to catch 1 Sturgeon & have 1 in your possession <li>Limit - Conservation License: 0 in your possession - You are not allowed to fish for Sturgeon with a Consevation License

Terry I got my 3 year sport lic. online on the 15th of November, prior to going to the BOQ G2G. I'm good till Dec. 31st 2010. It took all of a minute and a half.

Thanks for the kind words, Gavin. I'm glad you and your wife had a nice stay here. You know, with the net, there are no longer any great distances...we can keep sharing info and experiences from wherever one finds himself. I'm sure that OFC members would love to see some of your reports from the UK. Thanks for all of your contributions to the board, keep them coming and most of all, be well.

WTG Sam. Nice to see you out there. Thanks for sharing the info.

For what they cost, it's not worth dyeing natural bucktail. Use the natural ones for some baits...if you want colours, buy them. If you Google "dyeing bucktail" you'll get a ton of info on it. The key is the acid dye. (vinegar) Good luck.

Aside from the navigable waters found on the regular Navionics chips, the Hotmaps (Navionics) for Canada contain 80 or so Ontario lakes. It's the same company Poacher's P.
-
They're built in a town called St-Jean des Piles (go figure). They were a very popular boat at one time and there are still lots of them around. They're solid and very seaworthy. I don't know what's happening with the company nowadays but there seems to be a lot of canoes coming out of that town. Edit: They must still be in business. This is their website. http://www.cadorette.ca/index.htm Sorry, French text only.

Don't all y'all laugh at the same time now but that second pic reminds me of Dr. Shivago. Now I'll have Lara's Theme in my head all afternoon..... Great picture essay.
-
Really impressive fish there, Steve. The colours are super too! Congrats!
-
Sweet looking boat there Garry! Buck's gunna LOVE that spacious casting deck...especially during those dog days. I guess they didn't have any tillers, eh?
-
The Cardiff is not a muskie real Glen. The thumb bar is the same as the Corsair thumb bar.....it's the weakest link. I imagine you should be able to switch reels with the Cardiff.

Really nice job. Cliff! Hey...don't store it too far away during the summer. I think Photoz is lookin' for a gallows for a dwarf.
