There are places on the Larry that only hold sauger, very few yellows. Certain areas and times of the year on Lac St-Pierre for example.

No spot means it's an adult female. Both genders are born with the spot but the female loses it once adult.

Lots of sauger in the Larry and the Ottawa.

I know it's quite the run for you but Thomas Marine is the largest Princecraft dealer there is and new or used they'll get you what you want. They have 5 outlets. They're now switching to a new format website so it's a little wonky but it'll give you some ideas.

I know of a few privately owned chunks in Ontario. Personally, life's too short to start bickering with someone who thinks he owns the water. Just smile, wish him a fine day and move on.
