Bitme The MNR and Bios. know all about it. Thats why they warn people not to eat the Walleye from there. I've talked to the Biologist, they wouldn't eat a fish from L.Ont. This was only a 3LB. fish. They tell you not to eat anything over 24".

I used to like eating an odd meal of small Walleye from Quinte. This is enough to make you stop eating fish any where. Sorry to upset your breakfast. Caught a few of these this week.

I don't know if anyone here remembers the Real-man in Hamilton. Not going to say his name, is a friend off mine. But he always told me he ate Sheephead and cut the fillets in strips, dropped the strips in boiling salt water as soon as the strips turn white and floated, scope out and put on ice. After chilled he dipped in Shrimp sauce. He called them poor man shrimp. I've never tried sheephead but some people eat Tilapia, Orange Rufy, I wouldn't feed them to my dog. Give me Haddock or Perch.

Heading for Quinte on Monday Need to find a boat launch
Fish Farmer replied to Time2Fish's topic in General Discussion
A good tip, if your going Nov.,Dec. carry a bag of salt for the ramps. Watch your tail lights, transducer, speedo, prop backing in if theres ice at the ramps. Tilt your motor back down after you come out of the water to drain, pull drain plug. Think about the freezing damage. Nice thing about all the ramps, there free. Would be nice if other municipalities would take the hint. -

Tuff fishing, 4 guys spent 3 days on the water, morning till dark. We caught a total of 2 Walleye, 4 Sheephead and 1 10lb. Pike. This is one of the Walleye 32 1/4 " 8 Rod spread 14 1/2 Lb. Sheephead, my buddy had a hard time lifting. Most fish caught between Kieth Shoal and Bat Cave. Our other Buddy's caught 5 Walleye. Their biggest was 32 1/2" All fish were caught trolling. We tried Thompson's Pt. and marked lots of fish. But the guys didn't want to jig, just troll. Next time down in Nov. I'll be jigin. :

If your going to inject, stay away from any sweet solutions, sugar will blacken your turkey leading to a disaster. I have a friend that deep Fry's turkeys at deferent events and he says he never injects. When you have about 20 people waiting for that Turkey meal and disaster strikes. Try telling your guests we have to order out. But I have to say deep fried turkey is great. The only thing I miss is the gravy & stuffing. That stove top stuff just doesn't cut-it.

Where to buy battery/trolling motor wires?
Fish Farmer replied to Fisherpete's topic in General Discussion
Buy a set of cheap booster cables CTC or Princess auto. Cut the ends off. Wala! Make sure your battery is secure. I bought gas line hose at Bay City marine, when I moved my tank. -
Picton Harbor Inn is open all year. Terry, it's the Picton Motel your thinking about. I'll be at the Harbor Inn Oct. Nov. Great place but the parking can be a little hectic. They have a Breakfast in the morning at the Motel. We rent the condo upstairs.

Yesterday, myself and 2 Buddy's went fishing Port Maitland, our catch, 2 Walleye for the day. We split on the gas. The gas was 121.9. Gas cost for the days fishing for truck and boat, $131.00. We're retired, and it makes you think. How long is it going to be before fishing will be a memory. Every time the gas goes up there's a new excuse. Lies Lies Lies. Example: price of aluminum is going up so I am selling my boat for more than what I paid. If I can find a buyer. You see all the boats out there for sale.

We've lost one of the nicest people on the board

Must have been a great guy. Being an OFNer and fisherman, wish I could have met him. My condolences to the family. -
There are a few tubes on the market that have salt in the plastic. Phenix is one, just squeeze the tube and you can see the salt pop out off the plastic. Some plastics have salt in the bag, soon as it hits the water,GONE. Some of your salt-less tubes, you can put salt inside the tube before you stick your tube jig hook inside, poke a few holes in the head to let the salt leech out. Salt is a taste attractor, pretty well all living things like salt. It makes you eat more and drink. Can you imagine Chips with out salt. Just a tip

Gary, Your buddy has a double. I was shocked looking at his picture. They say everyone has a double.

Canada Puts Brakes on Electric Vehicles (NF)
Fish Farmer replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
The world runs on Oil. The oil mungers don't want electric or Hydrogen cars. You know how much money they'll lose. They could've had those vehicles years ago. They don't care about our future. Life is short, live today, to hell with tomorrow. -
Great report Johnny, thanks for sharing.

If you have a live-well, could be coming in around the pump or lose hose. Live-well over flow vent. Live-well overflowing into the boat. Motor-well inspection port. Just a guess.

You better look a little closer. Under the floor. Had the same thing with my Princecraft. They shipped it back to the factory in Quebec and found 85 rivets lose or missing. Lund's are no better than any other aluminum boat. I was in Concord at Rem metal works that did warranty work on aluminum boats. The place was full of all makes including Lund's. I was told by Princecraft it was from wave action. Aluminums don't take the pounding. I owned 2 Princecrafts. I had a Lund, seen the workman ship. Thats why I don't own one. Not saying others are better. They do a lot with carpet.

I have a Magellan Meridian and never had a problem. But hearing your story makes me want to look else were if mine breaks. My Magellan has an internal battery also, but I don't think you can change it. Looks like a sealed item.

It makes one think the issue is global warming. There is lots of oil but they don't want it burned because of pollution. There making smaller cars that burn less gas, using less gas means you don't buy as much. In turn making up stories of shortages gives them right to put up the price of gas, seeing less is burned. It's like the marketing board, when they have to much milk on hand they dump it to keep the price up. Milk is just one thing I used as an example. I worked with a guy his dad had a drilling rig he used drilling for water wells and natural gas. One day drilling he hit an oil vein, he told someone and he was told to pour concrete in the hole and keep your mouth shut . If they would only tell the Truth.
