  2. Lfw: Thats what I do now, I try and stay under 2000 rpm. Takes a little longer to get there but you save. I use the cruse all the time now. I drive the middle lane. if they want to pass, pass.
  3. Just a question. Has anybody tried those air filters called KN Filter? A mechanic told me it would increase your mileage by 10% and horse power. The price for the filter is around $100.00 It's a life time filter. I'm thinking of buying. But is it just bull?
  4. If they own the river, why would they ask you to take them for a ride. I don't think anyone can own a river. One of the guys is your neighbor Was this a hit your neighbor planned. Something still missing in this story, as everyone thinks. It sure sounds that you ticked someone off. . Everyone having a good time and the last minute a murder. Sounds like a movie I watched ( Deliverance ) Squeal like a pig.
  5. If you got kids, you can't beat the Orilia Perch Fest in the spring . If you see a red Princecraft with a 50 Honda tiller and an OFC sticker on the stern, drop your anchor beside me . Just don't tell anybody else
  6. Thanks for the heads up. I was at a seminar awhile back on this issue and they advise always using fuel stabilizer if your boat is left more than 30 days. Also I was advised to use stabilizer in every tank of gas in my 4 stroke.
  7. Just a Orilia Perch Festival AHOLIC. I won't miss it. I guess it's still the kid in me. Only so many days in the week. Now getting ready for our week Walleye trip to Big Gull L. over near Kaladar off #7. Did the Big Brothers fishing day yesterday. I Canceled going with Spiel today for Whites. I think were going Tuesday to give the Whites another shot if the weather is good. Come on over and shot the poop Brian.
  8. Congrats Brian, I may give the fall hunt a try. No time in the spring because of fishing. OFAH FILE: 842 May 22, 2008 For Immediate Release ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- Provincial fall wild turkey regulations now in force O.F.A.H. welcomes hunt, advises hunters to review regulations before fall season ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- As promised by the Ministry of Natural Resources (M.N.R.), there will be a fall wild turkey season in designated parts of Ontario this year. Changes to regulations pertaining to wild turkey in the Open Seasons-Wildlife section under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997, were finalized on May 15 and are now in force. The move had been expected, as the fall hunt was proposed in the Wild Turkey Management Plan, which was posted on the Environmental Bill of Rights (E.B.R.) for public comment in February . "The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.) is pleased that the fall wild turkey season will proceed as promised in parts of Ontario," said O.F.A.H. Executive Director Mike Reader. "The wild turkey is thriving, and expanded hunting opportunities provide for sound wildlife management, time in the outdoors for hunters, and economic benefits for many communities that derive their livelihood from the outdoor industry." A fall wild turkey hunting season has been approved in Wildlife Management Units 64, 67, 68, 73, 76, 77, 78, 81, 82, 84, 89, 90, 92, and 93. The season will run each year from the Tuesday following Thanksgiving until the second Sunday following Thanksgiving. Regulations for the fall season vary slightly from the spring, so the O.F.A.H. is strongly encouraging hunters to thoroughly review the regulations before the season opens. Whereas in the spring hunters may purchase two licences and harvest a season total of two birds over two or more days, the fall limit is one bird per hunter, per season. Unlike the spring season, fall harvested wild turkeys may be of either gender, with or without a beard. Wild Turkey Facts: * The O.F.A.H. initiated the highly successful program to bring back the extirpated eastern wild turkey to Ontario more than twenty years ago. * There has been a hunting season since 1987, and during that time, wild turkey populations have continually increased. Moderate estimates place Ontario's turkey population at well over 70,000 birds. * The wild turkey is a popular game bird, even though hunters require special training and certification to obtain the turkey designation on their hunting licence. * Since 1987, the O.F.A.H. has trained 78,300 turkey hunters in seminars held across Ontario. * Last year, wild turkey licence sales contributed $936,789 to the M.N.R. Special Purpose Account. With 83,000 members and 655 member clubs, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters is the leading fish and wildlife conservation organization in Ontario.
  9. Obviously it's no for a fishing boat and not for fishing.
  10. Yes Harry, I can remember when we thought we were getting ripped at 60 cents. I think it was a little over a year ago.
  11. I'll be watchin. I can feel for the guy. I've had things stole from me also.
  12. Clamp-It you hit the nail on the Head. I keep thinking when I'm sitting in the boat that this could be one of my last trips.
  13. To Doubleheader, we are paying almost $6.00 a gallon. It makes me sick when I think I paid $.35 a gallon and people complained when it went up 1 cent a gallon. 4 1/2 liters makes a CA. gallon. Don't say I'm old when you think, that wasn't long ago.
  14. Not very good for catching Perch . Birds nest city.
  15. Very good replies. It makes one wonder when it will stop. I have a big boat in my garage and it's staying there. I use a small one now with a 4 stroke. I once fished about 4 to 5 times a week, now I try and team up with a few guys to split on the gas and lucky to get out once a week. You hear on the radio talk shows that people think everyone should drive a Hybrid. I like to see pulling a boat or trailer with one. Businesses need trucks, transport trucks for hauling goods. If were not building trucks, boats, trailers, ATVs, etc. means unemployment. No money. You see husband & wife working now and their lucky to keep up with mortgages. Not buying toys, travel, doing sports means layoffs and closures. I'm retired, and it makes me think I may have to sell a few things that I once bought for my retirement. Who would of ever thought. Every day on the news you hear about layoffs. You wonder if our government ever thinks or listens.
  16. With the high price of gas, how long before we see everything going for a crunch. Trucks, Boats, Cottages, Homes, Resorts, Businesses, Jobs, Food, Life styles, etc. I think we are in big trouble if they don't do something with the high cost of gas. It may be to late! It will be a ripple effect. Are people walking with their head in the sand. What is your opinion?
  17. Spiel and myself jiggin for Whities on Simcoe Fri. Then fish the Dofasco derby Sun. in Dunnville at Fishmasters.
  18. As Pike Hunter mentioned Cel Phones. I've seen more cel phone drivers talking and they don't even know whats going on around them. They should invent something to ZAP cel phones .
  19. It's wrong to keep a snagged fish. Catching it on the mouth is a fine line. But You think a guy spends $100.00 dollars in gas to get a couple fish for the table, he's going to throw it back because it was caught on the outside of the mouth, I doubt it. Guy's that live near Simoce don't have to worry, you have them any time you want. You can go every day and get one. Good point Brian, I'm not throwing a stone at you, I'm just jealous you live up there good post. I don't disagree with you. I sooner shot a snagger. I know a few U.S. Buddy's that are second thinking coming to Canada now because there is a 4 fish limit plus slot. They spend a lot of money hear, gas ,food accommodations, beer, etc. then go home with no fish. Their second thinking. This gas thing is killing things. I used to go fishing every day, now I go when I get 2,3,4 guys to split on the gas. It's a lose, lose situation.
  20. Those country's are the size of a postage stamp. Drive 50 miles and your across their country. 10 billion profit , Where getting ripped off no matter how you look at it!!! .
  21. Only 4 tags have been caught out of 76 This is a SECRET Spot, don't tell anyone.
  22. Look for the boats. Make sure you got a fish finder. Move around till you see them on the bottom then anchor. Don't sit on a spot not catching. Sometimes you have to move maybe 50' Best place to get minnows is at Jacobs on #11 just before the first cut off to Memorial Dr. Catching lots. I'll be there Mon.,Tues. Only 4 tags have been caught out of 76 This is a SECRET Spot, don't tell anyone
