  1. I've been fishing the Fest for 8 days now, A guy that was with me caught a Goby in the Narrows. I guess it won't be long . I turned it in to Tudhope Park, one of the organizers.
  2. I find this to be a problem with the perch in Cooch. I stick to Simcoe. I've been at the fest for 8 days now and never bother with Cooch because of this reason. You do get Perch in Simcoe also with worms, but not as many. Other bad news, we caught a Goby in the Narrows last week. we turned it into Tudhope park.
  3. Blue Gill, great tasting. Look very much like Sunfish.
  4. I installed them on both C3,C4. the reel performs a lot better. The handles are not cheap. If I remember, $20.00 each.
  5. Thanks guys Just wanted to know if there in yet, didn't want to waste the gas to find out their not in.
  6. Has anyone been fishing for whites near Owen Sound? Looking to head up, if there in.
  7. All the talk about outboards, your not going to afford the gas to run them. Better get some ores or a sail. Someones got to invent a Hybrid boat. Gerritt if you, Spiel and myself get out fishing in the same boat, that should give us enough hot air to troll.
  8. I'll be there, I've never missed it. Already got the rooms booked at the Hywayman So far 21st & 22nd 26th & 27th, 30th & 1st and more. Great place to take the kids like myself .
  9. My condolences Tinman. Remember the happy times.
  10. It was held at the St. Nick's Hall on Melvin Ave Hamilton. It was open for all. It will happen next year around the same time.

The Pres. doing the MC Watering Hole I didn't get a picture of Spiel he was on one of the tables working with me. Gerritt and Sonny came by to shot the breeze, nice seeing you guys. We didn't get many pictures this year our camera guy was away. Well it's all over for this year, already starting for next year.
  13. Steve, the whole principle is getting your spoon to the bottom dragging the bottom making dust. Bang that spoon on the bottom. You get hung up some times put you will produce fish. I can almost guarantee a lake Trout on Lake O. dragging your cannon ball on the bottom stirring up dust. Bangs the poop out of the ball. Keep your drag set on the rigger encase your ball gets hung up. Charters on L. Simcoe use this technique all the time. You will find stirring the bottom attracts most fish, at times. Wire and lead cord was made to get your spoon down deep hitting the bottom. Don't be scared to jerk your line, that sudden jerk will entice a strike. Good Luck
  14. Gezz must have an ice thaw back then, busy week no fishing. It was mine to this week. Happy birthday Wayne, Harry.
  15. Looks like I got to get into the piggy bank. I was hoping Spiel was buying .
  16. We've been working on this all week, I hope there is still some ice next week. Any OFC'ers interested come on out.
  17. You guys PH, Bosc, FM. STAY OFF my river, Thats my spot . If you only new the politics on Tuna. Tuna, 5 times over the consumption in Mercury. Their ship to Japan, processed then shipped back for us to eat. I love that Mercury, makes me want to eat Walleye from the river and drink Coffee thats made from the water that comes from L. Ont. Gerritt, see you at the Awards Night. Spiel will be there March 25th. We'll have a few POP'S
  18. I found the same thing with tires, they only carry up to 16", special order over 16" you pay double.
  19. With the gas thing this year , there could be a lot of vacancies and deals. Try the less classy places if you don't mined roughing it a bit, no TV,Carpet,Fancy rooms, Etc.
  20. Make sure you check the exceptions, plus there is a lot of mistakes and misconceptions.
  21. Washed out Perch. Caught one the other day at St. Williams that looked similar with no markings. Birth defect.
  22. Why don't they just get it over with, $6.00 a Litre. KILL the Country .
  23. Why would you want to fillet a Whitefish. Whitefish are the best baked open in the oven . Gut, Scale, then cut down the cavity to open wide. Place on baking sheet with foil skin side down, leave open. Salt,Pepper, sliced onions on top with a little butter then bake. Whitefish has a lot of fat and moisture, so I bake to dry the flesh a bit. The bone and ribs just lift out like a bake trout. Spatula the fish on a plate and enjoy. Theirs no waste. Very mild tasting fish, but stink like hell cooking . Now I got to wipe my lips
  24. Gezz, sounds to confusing to me . I guess thats why I use Night Crawlers, "Dew Worms" .
