  1. Man i love the sight of a cloud of diesel encasing the most recent person to send your heart into a tailspin with their self absorbed antics! Lower the speed limits, heck ban cars and trucks and we can all just walk hand in hand to our destination. At least then we only have to worry about bonking heads when staring at our electronics?
  2. Nice whities!, i have been laughing pretty hard at some of the stuff ive seen just this year. Guy doing donuts 50 feet from my shack, sleds and atvs flying by almost crushing my tip ups. You know i never set a tip up more than 20 feet from the hut for fear of its demise haha. That being said, in spite of the stupidity i have been slaying fish non stop in the bay so bring on the huddled masses to watch my greatness ??
  3. Hahaha, bunk you are a wordsmith if there ever was one, wonderful fun as always. If you ever have to give up fishing you could always write books?
  4. I would have loved a new boat but couldnt stand the idea of making the same payments as i do on my daily driver. My 12 ft aluminum with a homebuilt trolling motor transom, homemade cupholders, self mounted rod holders, and a humminbird fishfinder installed by yours truly with a 99 8hp johnson cost me a grand total of ... $1300 I personally guarentee this boat catches big fish on small water? To compensate for my big water needs i bought a 1990 chapparal with a v8 305, rod holders and manual riggers installed in a garage near you for the whopping tag of 2g. Together these two will take me anywhere anytime, it just goes to show what you can do on a budget with a little work. Im much happier spending my hard earned money on fishing gear as opposed to x$ a month on fishing transportation. Happy fishing...and boating
  5. Thanks all, i just bought my own two man shelter so i will definitely be out more.
  6. So i went out for a couple hours yesterday with my wifes cousin, i said id get him out to get some perch. Hes only a young fella with little experiance but he got the hang of it pretty quick. He ended getting a handful of nice jumbos and we stayed on enough fish to keep him interested for a couple hours. I decided to try break my recent ice gator drought so i let him hit the perch and i started jigging a spoon, about an hour later i get a hit and its go time! Nothing special but it felt great to break the curse. All in all a great day on the ice, it was cool to see him having a fun day outside and hes already lookin forward to the next trip.im not going to post the pics of him cause i never asked so heres my wee pike.
  7. Theres a couple right in the south end of simcoe, i usually see them a few times a year flying around the swamp
  8. Those gators are sneaky eh? I too would like to see that fish! At least you still got something

  13. Thats is a sweet ice gator! And some other beauty fish to boot. Good work fellas. My biggest through the ice was a 39" pike on simcoe many many moons ago haha.
  14. I got out on simcoe for the first time this season yesterday and today and we slayed some jumbos! Picked up 22 over 10" today alone. I thought yall might like this little piggy though. My second biggest perch ever and a pb for simcoe
  15. Beautiful fish! Im itching to get a few myself.
  16. I love eating pike in the 1-3 lb range, as good or better then picies in my own opinion, this pike weighed 18 lbs and was probably 20 years old so it wasnt the tastiest morsel ever.
  17. I cant imagine a fish like that would taste too good. On our pike trip this year a couple guys had to keep a monster that died boatside, we did the right thing and ate it but man was it terrible. We tried frying it, bbq it, pan fry and even boiled a piece. Id rather eat my rubber boots frankly! I also do not like to keep large or trophy size fish for the table as they are rare and have the genes to make future monsters? But so long as its legal i cant say anything about someone who wants to... As for the comparison to the idiot fish rapist who beat and left that fish in the river i just cant compare the two. Id rather see it eaten then wasted.
  18. I love fishing these gold monsters! Good work man.
  19. Wow indeed, that is a p i g pig!!! I hope i get one half that size this fall lol
  20. I was fishing carp in my backyard this summer and i had the rod sitting right beside my lawn chair. Sure enough i got a hit but it ripped my rod in the water before i could grab it. I was going to jump in but thought better of it. I ran to the shed and grabbed my muskie rod, i put a big treble and a 2 oz bell sinker on and started firing it out trying to catch my line. I eventually hooked something and pulled my old line towards the dock, after pulling my rod up i cleaned it off and started reeling... Sure enough the fish is still on. It turned out to be just a hair shy of 30 lbs, by far my biggest simcoe carp.
  21. Real nice work man! Thats what a tat should look like
