  1. Well simcoe definitely has some big pike but you gotta work for them, and get a little lucky.
  2. I would have replied but im jealous that all you lucky buggers are out smashing cats on the grand and i havent even caught a single carp this year. Sounds like a fun day.
  3. I was out in similar conditions last year except we had 1m waves to go with it, there was two of us so we had 2 dipseys and 2 riggers out and we could hardly figure out which way we were going. We would hit a fish and next thing you know we are going with the waves again. Its pretty erie not being able to see anything anywhere. This is a pic from before the fog got real bad, once it was thick you couldnt see 50 ft away
  4. Thats pretty cool, maybe some fish dont do what they are expected to.

    Jackpot!

A buddy of mine snagged an old pickeral rig in the holland river while fishing for mud cats, as it started to come up you could see it had 2 fish still on it. Well when the line on the rig snapped his jighead came out at 100mph and smoked him right above the eye, lucky he didnt lose it. Gotta be careful when you hook old rigs they can let go at any time
  6. Beautiful fish, always nice when your hard work is rewarded

    Jackpot!

Looks like it was pulled out of a tackle box lol
  8. Some nice kings you got there! Im starting to look forward to july already.
  9. Best i can tell you would be to find a spot in the shallows and weeds where you can see baitfish and set your trap there. Make sure it is labeled.
  10. My first ski was in a small lake near haliburton, i wasnt aware they were in there and was bass fishing at a friends cottage. I was throwing a number 3 vibrax and saw a swirl right as i hit the water near a rock point, I burned it in and threw again and she smashed it. Turned out to be a beautiful 37" ski!
  11. Sure sounds like a fun evening! Cool to see an eel anywhere, ive only ever seen one myself in the boq.
  12. For the record im talking 20 boats in an area maybe 300 feet long by 60 feet wide. You do the math on that.
  13. I wasnt going to say anything but 3 years ago there was maybe 2-3 boats max in my canal fishing crappie, now sometimes 20+ boats at a time. Not to mention this year was no where near the numbers there used to be. Probably just a natural cycle but me thinks a couple internet postings can go a long ways to the destruction of such a tiny spot.
  14. I would say my weakness is over thinking things in the boat or focusing on one small thing when i should step back and think big picture. Its particularily bad if things arent working. Also im not big on jigging, even in situations that call for it ill avoid it as much as possible.
  15. My heart goes out to all of you, i hope she feels a little better soon.
  16. I used my wifes account to vote, she was ahead by 25. Good luck
  17. Is there any way to vote without having facebook?
  18. Ive seen a few out in the big lake over the years, we released one that seemed a little more sluggish then the rest and he was infested with them. He still went on his way though.
  19. This is true, not all pike spawn at the same time and some are dropping eggs before the ice is even gone.
  20. Best possible device is a staple remover, works every time the first time and its super cheap
  21. Great report man, some real nice kitties there.
  22. Thanks dude, good to know
  23. This is my old truck, 2003 ranger level 2 with a 6" lift and 33" pro comps. Also v6 but automatic. Had to trade it for a family car when the baby came. Still miss it but i look forward to my f150
