  1. Excellent, I get paid tomorrow too! I'll be there with bells on, well, maybe not bells but I'll be there. Any idea Blake on what kinda stuff will be on sale? You seem to have an inside connection there, so I'd figure you might know?
  2. I'll be up there for the opener, and looking forward to it!
  3. I agree with doug all the way. Jigging and casting for bass or walleye are different. On my on one reel I cast for salmon, I don't use backing at all. If I downrigged for anything, no backing at all either, just tape it. Flatlining, I would still use a backing, unless its for salmon or trout. But then again, I've almost seen a 15lb sheephead almost spool somebody. Use discretion for your type of fishing at hand.
  4. Think you should up the lb test too. 20lb or 30lb should be good enough for ya, maybe 20lb PP since its 6lb mono equivalent. I personally have had trouble casting PP with a spinning reel, wind knots....thats why I'm trying Spiderwire Stealth. But split the spool, I doubt you'll come close to casting 225'.
  5. Pretty ironic, turns out he is going with the buddy I know. Small world.
  6. Good advice so far, you shouldn't have any trouble getting in fish. Just bring some jigs and some trolling lures like Husky Jerks and Tail Dancers... Btw, my buddy Sam is going up there that weekend too. You can't miss the guy, he's bald and laughs all the time. Good luck.
  7. Awesome going you two! Way to break in that new reel Bly. You two are certifiably hard core!
  8. Thanks everyone for your input, and indeed Lew, a nice gesture by David. When I'm ready to commit, I'll let ya know David.
  9. I know someone posted recently about digital camera's, but I am looking for one under $200. Any recommendations on bang for my buck on this? Definately need optical zoom too, probably at least 5 MP's as well. Any help would be great. Been checking out Cnet, Zdnet so far.
  10. Terry, you are the Zen of back pain remedy, that was awesome!
  11. Glad to see some other Raptor fans out there. They have played some great ball this year, and most importantly, have finished games. Love to see them against the Wizards, down 2 of their best players, can't ask for much more than that. Go RAPS!
  12. Nice going Rick! Appears you're quite the natural at that stuff.
  13. Thanks HH, I was hoping for it to go somewhere between 9'-10'. The DD has a fair size lip too, surprised it only goes that deep.
  14. Thanks boys for yer help. Much appreciated.
  15. I was thinking of purchasing a Lucky Craft Pointer DD. From what I have read, it dives 6' - 8'. It being a jerk bait, I'm thinking those depths are for casting only. I was wondering if someone knows for sure, or has a Precision Trolling Book, can check the trolling depth of it? I'll be using 30lb PP and SpiderWire with it. Also looking into the trolling depth of the Lucky Craft Pointer if the DD goes deeper than I am looking for.
  16. A friend of mine at work was going to throw out his mini fridge because it wasn't working, I said I'll take it and try to fix it. Would be a great edition in my office. The problem with it, nothing happens when you plug it in, no noise, no cooling, nothing. I am thinking after that thunder storm we had here last week must of tripped something? I was checking the schematics on the back and was thinking maybe the Overload Protector was tripped (no button on it to untrip it), or maybe this PTC Relay thingy is fried? Any ideas? I recall Rick posting something similar to this last year. Specs GE Model: GMR02BANACW
  17. I'm biting the bullet and going to buy the Pointer 100DD. Heard the action is something fierce, looking forward to getting it first, and then trying it at the opener for Quinte eyes.
  18. Stopped by a Canadian Tire in Hamilton and picked up a few lures. From what I've seen most CT's, not all, have this deal going on. The following were on sale: Wally Divers are $3.48 Grappling Shads $2.83 Rippling Redfins $3.44 Jitterbugs\Hula Poppers\Torpedos $3.53 CC Suspending Spot $1.83 Might be a few more, depending on which CT you go to. At least the CT I went to, there still was a fair selection to pick from. So if you are looking for the lures I mentioned, you maybe in luck, sale ends tomorrow (Friday). Happy shopping.
  19. I bought a couple of them 6 or 7 years ago. Haven't caught anything on em, but really haven't used them that much either. I believe they are made somewhere in Quebec? They have an awesome action to them though. Not sure how much they changed, but I added a stinger hook to them.
  20. Been using PP for a few years now, pretty good. I just have trouble casting with it, wind nots.... Bought a spool of Spiderwire Stealth. Haven't used it yet, but heard alot of good things about it.
  21. Had me going too! Funny thing is, I believe I went to school with the guy who supposedly caught that fish.
  22. Nice going Ron. I was wondering why I haven't seen you posting much as of late, like a year. Anyways, good job, site looks good. I however would like to see some walleye reports from Rice from ya sometime this summer!
  23. Thats exactly what I was thinking fishdawg!
  24. While at the Sportsman Show, the Daiwa rep, at LeBarons, showed me the Certate spinning reel. I'm like wow, sweeeet. Very smooth. Then he showed me the Steez. Holy crap, that is the lightest smoothest reel I have ever picked up. He told me some guy picked up 3 of em one day! If you are seriously looking at that reel, your best time woulda been during the no tax sale they had, Cuz theres a whole lotta tax on $500.
  25. I have a chart emailed to me from Seaguar distinguishing the differences. But the leader material is much stiffer, more abbrasion resistance..... If you want it Golfisher, let me know, I'll email it to ya.
