  1. Hang onto your pants brother! You wont believe how fast you'll go with a 9.9 on a 12ft aluminum. She goes pretty good...yahoo!
  2. Very sorry to hear of your loss UA both you and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers. I can see how much your stepfather had meant to you and your mother. It shows in the way you talk about him and how great he was! You should feel blessed to have known and have him your lives as he felt blessed to have the both of you in his. Know that although we can never bring the people we care for back we can always bring back their memories. And that my friend...nobody can take away from either one of you. You are a tremendously brave young man and your mom may need to lean to you for that. Be there for her and remember it's okay for you to cry also. I'm there for you bud and so are all the wonderful people who have shared their kind words, advice and experiences to you. We have all suffered losses in our lives and it really hurts when it's someone as wonderful as your stepfather. God Bless my friend and take good care of yourself and mom...finfan
  3. Fishinggeek, You are very much entitled to your own opinion! Which, I do fully respect. Al and Ron put this segment into there show not to make converts out of us, but to show how "spiritually" fishing has impacted their lives. I personally like it and millions of others like it too! Thanks...finfan
  4. My favorite show is anyone that I can sit down and watch to get me out of doing things around the house! LOL For me it's the Lindners new show. I particularly like the spiritual segment of the program which really keeps me grounded and puts things into perspective for me. And I'm no means the most spiritual person or your Sunday morning church goer. Thanks! Al and Ron you guys are the best...finfan
  5. Dave, I totally understand what you and your mother are going through. A few years ago I lost my only brother to cancer and it was the most difficult thing I've ever dealt with. He was my best friend! I hope that I may be able to shed some light on this difficult subject for you! It's normal to feel angry, sad, confused and helpless during this time. But the thing that helped me the most was prayer and an understanding of how GOD works. Now! I don't want you to think that I'm an overly religious person or spend my Sunday mornings at church. You see! We always pray for the best outcomes in these difficult times and we need to know that GOD is listening and believe me he is. But, unfortunately in some cases our prayers seem like they've been unanswered or have gone unnoticed and the circumstances change. What we must understand is that however difficult this situation may seem we can't change GODS plans for our loved ones. We are all called upon by him to fulfill his needs and we are all part of this big giant puzzle that we can't see or understand. But! We can be rest assured that someday we will see why? We must try to open our hearts and and minds to his work and pray not for our own selfish reasons but for reasons of our loved ones peace. The few things that I can tell you is try to make your father feel as comfortable as possible in every way! Talk to you father and pray with him and let him know that everything will be fine in GODS hands. And the most important thing? Tell your father you love him every chance you get and don't be afraid to cry with him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you! Always believe in miracles and the love in Gods mercy...your friend finfan
  6. Don't let your wives hear you talk like that! LOL
  7. I agree! It doesn't surprise me one bit about our nations government. Let's spend all the taxpayers money building such things as refineries and businesses that would potentially help with economic growth and create jobs in the process! Then turn around and either sell them to foreign countries or the U.S. for dirt cheap and buy the products back from them. Makes no sense to me! OH CANADA! Our home and native land...? You can fill in the rest because I may have a few choice words for our Government...finfan
  8. Yes! I positively understand that people do in fact deal with these situations differently. And I'm very grounded! Thank you very much? I just don't think that these are the kinds of comments to be posting on this thread for people to read.
  9. I'm sorry Gerritt! I mean no disrespect but how the gentleman died is just plain tragic. He drowned! Death is final and not to be joked about. I'm sorry there is no making light of a situation like that...finfan.
  10. So very sad and tragic! I do find it quite disturbing to read peoples prior posts that try to pull off a joke. This is not funny people because it could very well happen to anyone of us or one of our family members. Let's pray for this gentleman, his family and the brave fisherman that found him. I'm sure he's very frightened and distraught about the whole ordeal...finfan
  11. Tony, I say you must go for it! I have owned a small business for about 20 years and I too had a business partner. He was my brother and also my very best friend and 3 years ago he passed away due to cancer of the liver. We worked night and day, 6-7 days a week and never took any time off for vacations. Occasionally we would go fishing when we had the opportunity and enjoyed those moments we were able to share together in the boat outside of working. I can't tell you how guilty I feel knowing that all we ever did was work our butts off and fingers to the bone all for the money. What a huge mistake! We never took the time for ourselves to enjoy life or to experience more with the family. He's gone now and I can honestly say that half of me has gone with him and I miss him so very much! I could go on and on talking about this? But! I guess what I'd really like to say is go and enjoy, have fun, experience new things and don't worry about whatever anyone tells you. Believe me you need to recharge those batteries, come back and start fresh again! You will have no regrets in doing so and experience what pleasant opportunities this adventure may have in store for you. Enjoy your life today my friend, because we never know what tomorrow may bring? Your friend...finfan
  12. Lew! Absolutely beautiful pictures of the sunrise on the bay. It's always such a wonderfully soothing site first thing in the morning. But! Then to see the trash littered all over the parking lot is just plain sickening. They need to send more policing to these areas and hammer these people with huge fines and community trash patrol. I can't stand litter bugs...they're lucky I'm not a cop because I'd have them picking it up with their teeth. Sorry, but this really hits a sore spot with me...finfan
  13. I personally have never been disappointed with the service and selection at Tightlines. A fantastic shop! Jam packed with goodies and great deals to boot. John and the staff are very knowledgeable and first class guys too! Check out their sale, you wont be disappointed.
  14. Fantastic idea for an outdoor adventure program. Love your website and I,m sure to love your show. I will be watching for sure...can't wait!
  15. Brian, I know how losing someone you've admired your whole life can be. I lost my brother a couple of years ago and I miss him everyday but memories are good...and really the only thing that keeps me going. He not only was my fishing buddy and brother but also my very best friend as I'm sure your grandfather was to you. Hold onto those great times you had together and fish as often as you can, he will be right there with you! I go out fishing by myself and look at the seat in the back of the boat and I can picture him smiling at me saying get the net! It always brings a tear to my eye. My very sincere condolences Brian and congratulations on the wonderful milestone to you and your wife.
